Once again, Monday was relatively slow compared to the high-octane Sunday, and most of the flagships experienced overlays. Here is the complete recap.
Spartan Poker
Spartan Poker’s Monday flagship ₹10 Lakhs GTD ReCharge suffered an overlay of ₹30,000 on the back of 485 contenders. A lesser-known player Prakhar ‘Prak27’ Kapoor conquered the title and his best score on Spartan Poker worth ₹1.94 Lakhs, after besting ‘clu853’ (runner-up for ₹1.23 Lakhs) heads-up. Kapoor’s recorded online scorecard dates back to 2018, and he has won several impressive titles in the last two years. His first title win came earlier this year in Spartan Poker’s ₹4 Lakhs GTD Hi-Fi for ₹1.10 Lakhs in January. He is also a two-time IOPC title winner, with his first title coming back in January for ₹97,294 and his second title in February in the IOPC #86 Daily Hi-Fi ₹8 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.67 Lakhs. Kapoor presently has ₹17.23 Lakhs in recorded winnings on the site.
The ₹6 Lakhs GTD Flash failed to flash the crowds, falling ₹33,000 short of the break-even mark, after logging in 567 entries. Mystery user ‘Kartikey’s’ reaped the benefit of the value on offer and claimed the title for a winner’s paycheque worth ₹1.16 Lakhs. Mayank ‘desithug007’ Gupta finished runner-up for ₹73,800, while online leaderboard specialist Bhanu ‘spectre’ Prakash KC secured the third spot for ₹53,340. The champion presently has ₹1.58 Lakhs in earnings on Spartan Poker, with a profit of ₹86,015.
While the weekly scheduled events will continue to entertain poker lovers, Spartan Poker is bringing back its most popular Millionaire tourney to amp up the online action. Running from August 28 to 30, the ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire will be a multi-flight event featuring a buy-in of ₹5,500.
PokerBaazi
PokerBaazi’s ₹10 Lakhs GTD The Bout attracted 356 entrants and fell ₹1.10 Lakhs short of its advertised guarantee. Site regular ‘gogikaran’ took down the event for ₹2.10 Lakhs, after besting Pratibh ‘pratibhsaluja’ Saluja in the heads-up finale. The latter took home ₹1.47 Lakhs in second place prize money.
Following this win, the champion has ₹5 Lakhs in online winnings on PokerBaazi, while Saluja’s lifetime tally has reached ₹59.7 Lakhs.
Upcoming poker streamer Akshay ‘CallmeAK’ Kapoor championed the ₹2 Lakh GTD Monday MegaStack for ₹60,000.
The PokerBaazi BankRoll Builder Series (PBBS) also commenced yesterday. The star attraction of the series, the ₹2 Lakhs GTD Main Event kicked off with its first starting flight that registered 117 entries. Only 54 players made it through to Day 2, with ‘Pok3rbaaz,’ ‘starboy’ (275,000), and ‘Abhi140892’ (225,000) bagging the top stacks.
Adda52
Battling through the overlay storm of last week, Adda52’s Monday bonanza, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Inception, fared no better. A player pool of 307 registrations wasn’t enough to avoid a shortfall of ₹17,600. Up and coming player Pawan ‘_luffy_1x1’ Tez emerged victorious, banking ₹2.50 Lakhs in cash prize, just as Aman ‘zontory’ Bhadu placed second for ₹1.51 Lakhs. Tex presently has ₹35.39 Lakhs in recorded winnings on Adda52.
The ₹3 Lakhs GTD Hexagram received a lot more interest as compared to the other marquee events. Pulling in 152 participants, the event collected a ₹3.04 Lakhs prize pool. It was a short-lived tournament and lasted for a little over two hours. Anonymous user ‘np406’ was the last player standing, and they captured the title for a top prize worth ₹65,577. A three-way deal saw ‘pokraj’ (runner-up for ₹59,174) and Monish ‘kidpoker077’ Annthen (3rd for ₹56,889), securing podium finishes.
PokerStars India
Persisting with his stellar form over the past few weeks, Harsh ‘kakori kabab’ Dembla added yet another title to his ever-growing list of accomplishments by shipping PokerStars India’s ₹6 Lakhs GTD Battle Royale. He had clinched the title in this very same event last week for ₹1.40 Lakhs. Dembla’s recent exploits include winning PokerBaazi’s ₹5 Lakhs GTD BSS Monster 6-Max for ₹1.20 Lakhs on Sunday night. The seasoned pro currently has ₹1.13 Crores in recorded online winnings, out of which ₹78.77 Lakhs he has won in 2020 alone. Incidentally, Dembla also final tabled Adda52’s Hexagram, finishing sixth for ₹13,680.
The Battle Royale logged in 211 entries, leading to an overlay of ₹72,500, with the top 35 players receiving payouts.
PokerStars India’s ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD tournament, The Classic Monday, also booked a loss. Clocking in 106 entries, the site had to fill in a deficit of ₹38,000. Madhavan ‘madhavan4596’ Maddy took down the event for ₹57,784.
