After clocking in guarantee-crushing turnouts in the first two days, the Friday attendance at PokerBaazi’s National Poker Series India 2023 was even better! With Spartan Poker’s India Turbo Masters running in tandem, players couldn`t have asked for a better start to the weekend.
Hauling in the day`s top score was PokerBaazi loyalist Pranay Chaudhry, who nailed the NPS showstopper, NPS#15 Friday Freestyle, to win the coveted NPS gold medal and a career-best ₹10.26 Lakhs (won ₹10.57 Lakhs across two deep runs) – almost 2X his previous best score and recovering all past losses in one go.
Last week’s Thursday High Roller champion Guneet Kwatra (2nd for ₹6.14 Lakhs) and PokerBaazi’s The Pre-Flop Show co-host (with sports anchor Ridhima Pathak) Aditya Wadhwani (3rd for ₹4.83 Lakhs), who live-streamed his Friday session on PokerBaazi`s YouTube channel also won their first-ever NPS medals in the 7:30 PM NPS flagship.
The #1 ranked player on the annual and monthly standings, Ashish Munot, lit up the virtual felts last night with a scintillating run in Spartan Poker’s ITM #43 Friday Supersonic, taking it down for a cool ₹8.46 Lakhs (won ₹9.29 Lakhs overall). Spartan Poker user ‘ardneran1’ earned a runner-up payday worth ₹5.70 Lakhs.
Young Gun Aayush Arya was among the many top regs entering the weekend with a flagship title in the bag. Arya claimed his maiden NPS gold medal in PokerBaazi’s NPS#16 (6-Max) SPRINT and ₹4.32 Lakhs in prize money (his fifth-best score on the site)! Tuesday’s Bounty Builder HR champion, Harsh Bubna, bagged his first NPS silver medal and ₹2.65 Lakhs as the runner-up, crossing ₹5 Crores in tracked online winnings.
The first-ever PokerGuru Challenge winner, Shailesh Kumar Patel, kept his winning tempo going. He grabbed the NPS gold medal in PokerBaazi’s NPS#13 (7-Max) Friday Deepstack and the top prize of ₹2.94 Lakhs (won ₹3.34 Lakhs overall). Mohammad Azhar, chasing his career-fifth NPS medal, had to settle for the silver medal and ₹1.80 Lakhs as the runner (won ₹2.38 Lakhs overall).
Manipur-based live streamer Thiyam Dannish pulled off the stunning feat of winning the NPS gold medal on stream. He shipped PokerBaazi’s NPS #14 Run-Up for ₹1.71 Lakhs (won ₹1.94 Lakhs overall) while streaming for a tiring 12 hours. Abhishek Batra bagged the silver medal and ₹1.05 Lakhs in second place.
Karan Sitlani (Won ₹15 Lakhs GTD NPS#17 DeepDive for ₹2.76 Lakhs) won the other NPS gold medal on Friday.
Spartan Poker loyalist Dhruva Kalra came out on top in ITM #44 Triple Chance DST to win ₹1.60 Lakhs (his maiden ITM title), busting a three-month-long title drought. He chopped the 9:30 PM tournament heads-up with Gautam Bansal (2nd for ₹1.52 Lakhs).

NPS India 2023 Series Leaderboard Standings After Day 3
The Day 3 results of the National Poker Series India 2023 brought about a few changes in the top-order of the leaderboard rankings. Tanmay ‘truman’ Benara (4,518 points), who won the NPS#4 Wednesday Volley and NPS#10 Thursday Thunder back-to-back, continues to sit comfortably atop the leaderboard after posting ten ITM finishes in the series (including the two wins).
Wednesday’s NPS#2 Deepdive winner Shivam ‘daddyaddy’ Kumar Dubey (3,348 points) retained his #2 rank. Dubey has ITM-ed seven NPS marquees and has won gold and bronze medals.
Yuvraj ‘Yuvi0069’ Bhardwaj (3,327 points) jumped a rank to #3, displacing the Day 1 leaderboard topper Prashant ‘prashant031’ Pandagre (3,312 points). Bhardwaj has 14 cashes in the series already.
