On the heels of a choc-a-block Sunday that was littered with tournaments featuring lucrative guarantees such as Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire X5 Edition ₹10 Lakhs GTD To Top 5 Players and Sunday SuperStack ₹35 Lakhs GTD, Monday paled in comparison. The biggest guaranteed event on offer last night was Spartan Poker’s ReCharge ₹12 Lakhs GTD. However, despite the decline in guarantees, one man managed to make the most of the day – Pranay Chawla. An easily recognized face in the domestic circuit, Chawla was in brilliant form last night. And even though he did not clinch a title, Chawla’s exceptional multi-tabling abilities saw him picking up a total of four scores that included making an impressive three runner-up finishes.

The Noida-based pro’s biggest score yesterday came in PokerBaazi’s The Bout ₹10 Lakhs GTD. The event was among the many flagship tourneys that failed to meet its offered guarantee and was championed by Karann ‘karan1515’ Dembla, who collected the ₹2.41 Lakhs up top, while Chawla locked in ₹1.69 Lakhs.

His next big score came in Spartan Poker’s ReCharge ₹12 Lakhs GTD. He battled against a field of 626 entries (285 unique, 110 re-entries and 231 re-buys) to reach the heads-up, but here again, he lost the title to ‘Kingofking’ who banked ₹2.42 Lakhs for their win. Chawla received ₹1.53 Lakhs for his second-place finish.

PokerStars India’s Monday Hustle ₹6 Lakhs GTD also saw Chawla gunning for the top honors, but in the end, it was ‘Kabadi7’ who captured the top prize worth ₹1.29 Lakhs. Chawla had to yet again contend with a runner-up payout of ₹95,466.

The Business Economics graduate finally rounded out his night with a 15th place finish in PokerBaazi’s Monday MegaStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD for ₹4,620, taking his cumulative winnings for the night to ₹4.23 Lakhs – very impressive for a Monday!

PokerBaazi’s Monday MegaStack was eventually taken down by PokerGuru Ambassador Faiz ‘AilaGaya’ Alam, who bested online regular Anirban D ‘pottysingh’ Das (runner-up for ₹54,090) to win ₹77,250. Alam also final tabled the Monday Hustle, finishing fifth for ₹38,158.

Meanwhile, Rohit ‘sttoned’ Kumar topped a 109-strong entry field (58 unique, 21 re-entries and 30 re-buys) in Spartan Poker’s Ultimate PLO ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹45,400.

‘KNOCKMEOUT999’ came out on top in PokerStars India’s ZOOM 3-Max Progressive KO ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD to win ₹47,667.

Joining the list of high-value events that were hit by the overlay brigade last night was Adda52’s Goa Fest ₹8 Lakhs GTD. Annanya ‘annanya_agarwal92’ Agarwal made the most of the ₹28,000 overlay and trounced a field of 212 entries (115 unique and 97 re-entries) to whisk away ₹2.22 Lakhs in first prize.

Over at 9stacks, the StackUp @8PM ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD declared a champion in ‘MaheshGupta’ who took home ₹65,000 in prize money.

Lastly, Poker Dangal’s Monday Hustle ₹1 Lakh GTD saw ‘riskypro’ secure the title for a ₹24,000 payday.
