As the holiday season inches closer and another year prepares to slip into memory, the poker world remains full of energy—both at glittering live venues and on bustling online platforms. The action in the Bahamas has been especially intense, with the $25,000 WSOP Super Main Event at the 2024 WSOP Paradise, drawing toward its much-anticipated conclusion. Two players with Indian flags pinned to their hopes, Santhosh Suvarna and Adesh Tiwari, pushed forward with all the heart they could muster. They struggled hard to keep their dreams alive but eventually had to step away without that final, elusive triumph. Suvarna, however, refused to simply fade into the background. Determined to leave his mark, he entered the $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller and battled his way into 8th place, taking home a remarkable $209,420 (~₹1.78 Crores) to remind the poker world that he wouldn’t be forgotten so easily.
Back home in India, the buzz was just as loud. On PokerBaazi, Day 11 of the ₹35 Crores GTD WPT India Online series brought a frenzy of action, promising ₹2.10 Crores across five major tournaments. Natural8 India also had its own share of high-adrenaline moments, as three Indian contenders left their mark. Meanwhile, Junglee Poker and Adda52 saw players elbowing their way into the spotlight, determined to claim top prizes and carve out a story worth remembering.
But the day truly belonged to Pranay Chawla. The former IPC ₹100K High Roller champion is no stranger to success, having been a finalist in PokerBaazi’s first-ever Game Changer and the champion of the 2020 IOPC July Edition #92 Destiny. After winning the WTF in June, he set his sights on ending his six-month title drought in PokerBaazi’s WPT#61 Mega Championship. He grabbed his first WPT Online title and a massive ₹15.23 Lakhs – his biggest win of 2024 and the second-largest of his career. Chawla was the undisputed top earner of the day.
Hot on Chawla’s heels was Utkarsh Vaish, Spartan Poker’s IOPC 15.0 The Crown and Millionaire V champion. He took second place in the WPT#61 Mega Championship, adding ₹10.16 Lakhs to his bankroll. This was his second-biggest score of 2024 and his fourth-highest career cash. With a total of ₹10.58 Lakhs earned across three deep runs, Vaish ended the day as the second-biggest winner.
Ashish Nailwal, who you might remember as the runner-up in The MoneyMaker, is on a hot streak! After winning the WPT#15 (7-Max) Turbo last Tuesday, he just took down his second WPT Online title in PokerBaazi’s WPT#63 Turbo, adding ₹6.60 Lakhs to his bankroll. This win marks his third-biggest score of 2024, bringing his total winnings from two deep runs to ₹6.68 Lakhs. But it wasn’t a cakewalk! POY#7 Young Gun Aayush Arya put up a tough fight, ultimately finishing second for ₹4.40 Lakhs.
Over on Natural8 India, the mysterious ‘Shouryaanga’ is making waves again! After a final table appearance in the Sunday Main Event 250 last month, this player just crushed the Zodiac Main Event, a tournament with a whopping 1,413 runners. And guess what? ‘Shouryaanga’ already won this event earlier last month! This time, they landed on the podium, taking home ₹5.30 Lakhs and pushing their total earnings on the platform to over ₹77 Lakhs.
Back on PokerBaazi, Kripansh Khosla, who took bronze in the NPS#65 Slamdunk, is back in the winner’s circle after a month-long break. He conquered the WPT#60 Megastack for his first-ever WPT Online title and a career-best ₹4.04 Lakhs. With three deep runs, his total winnings for the day reached ₹4.71 Lakhs. But he wasn’t alone in his success. Raman Arora, the NPS#142 SPRINT champion, came in second, earning ₹2.45 Lakhs – his biggest score of the year and second-best on PokerBaazi. Arora’s total winnings for the day surpassed ₹2.73 Lakhs.
Deepankur Gupta, a pro from Gurgaon and former The Millionaire champion, is also on a roll. He took down PokerBaazi’s WPT#58 Bounty Hunter (KO) for ₹3.87 Lakhs. With three deep runs and a spot in Day 2 of the WPT#88 Main Event, Gupta’s total winnings climbed to ₹4.13 Lakhs. Sahil Aggarwal, the WPT#35 Monsterstack champion, wasn’t far behind, finishing second for ₹2.56 Lakhs and bringing his total earnings to ₹2.60 Lakhs from two deep runs.
The action on Natural8 India was intense, with Akash Malik and POY#4 Anant Purohit making impressive runs in the Bounty Hunters HR 525. Malik walked away with ₹2.02 Lakhs, bringing his total earnings to a cool ₹4.45 Lakhs thanks to three deep runs in PokerBaazi’s WPT tournaments. Purohit wasn’t far behind, grabbing ₹2.75 Lakhs in the event and boosting his overall winnings to ₹3.24 Lakhs with two more deep runs on PokerBaazi.
Meanwhile, over on PokerBaazi, we saw a newcomer burst onto the scene! ‘Deep260622’ scored a huge victory in the WPT#59 Hyper Turbo. After a tense heads-up deal, they walked away with a personal-best ₹2.36 Lakhs, wiping out past losses. Arya Dutta, a grinder from Haryana who won the Daily Last Chance back in October, gave ‘Deep260622’ a run for their money, ultimately finishing as the runner-up. But it wasn’t a bad day for Dutta either, as he took home ₹2.64 Lakhs from the deal, his biggest score yet, and a nice way to get back in the black for 2024.
Adda52 also saw some exciting action. Sandeep Varma RS, who took down Adda52’s Big Whale last month, broke a three-month dry spell by winning the Maverick title and ₹2.12 Lakhs. He didn’t stop there, though! A deep run in PokerBaazi’s WPT#60 Megastack pushed his total winnings for the day over ₹2.19 Lakhs. Sneha Karmakar put up a great fight in the Maverick but ultimately finished as the runner-up, earning a respectable ₹1.88 Lakhs.
Pocket52’s rising star ‘D777’ just grabbed their third title in the Pocket Rockets. And it wasn’t just any win – they took home a career-best ₹1.84 Lakhs, marking their triumphant return to profitability. But the competition was fierce “SPRINT King” Pradip Ghosh, who recently won Adda52’s Head Shot Bounty, gave ‘D777’ a real challenge, ultimately finishing second with ₹1.29 Lakhs. Ghosh had a pretty good day overall, racking up ₹1.95 Lakhs from four deep runs.
Meanwhile, on Junglee Poker, Sanjay Kumar was making moves. He dominated the Wednesday Superstack, claiming the top spot and a sweet ₹1.30 Lakhs prize.
And the wins just kept coming! Yash Jaiswal, Satya Pal Verma, Sai Ganesh Reddy, Aditya Sharma, Ajay Singh Dasila, and Deepak Verma all scored victories in other exciting Wednesday marquee events.

Wednesday night on Adda52 was a scorching affair, and at the heart of the action was Sandeep ‘effuno’ Varma RS (opted out of our tracking), a player who needs no introduction in the Indian poker scene. Fresh off a fourth-place finish in last month’s Big Whale, this seasoned online grinder etched his name onto another prestigious trophy, conquering the ₹12.50 Lakhs GTD Maverick.
The 8 PM flagship event attracted a formidable field of 439 entries (216 unique), with some of the biggest names in Indian poker locking horns in pursuit of victory.
