On the heels of a rollercoaster Sunday, Monday always pales in comparison. However, this time around Spartan Poker’s Double Features spiced up the online action. The latest offering from the tournament-centric brand, Double Features, kicked off on Sunday and, henceforward, will see Spartan Poker offer two marquee tournaments each day at 8 pm and 9:30 pm, respectively. The biggest draw on the site was the ReCharge ₹12 Lakhs GTD that drew in 665 entries (282 unique, 146 re-entries, and 237 re-buys) and smashed its advertised guarantee to collect a prize pool of ₹13.30 Lakhs. Online beast Anant ‘Pro’ Purohit took down the event for ₹2.19 Lakhs, after striking a heads-up deal with Amit ‘Magnemo’ Sahu, who bagged ₹2 Lakhs for his second-place finish.

We have written a lot about Purohit these few days. He was among the top five finishers in our monthly online rankings list, with monthly winnings of ₹36.96 Lakhs and ₹20.73 Lakhs in profit.

The second flagship event on Spartan Poker last night was the Deep Freeze ₹6 Lakhs GTD. The event attracted 104 entries on its inaugural run, logging in a prize pool of ₹6.24 Lakhs. Spartan Poker’s latest SVS The Millionaire Lite champion, Rajat ‘Garammasala’ Sharma shipped the event for ₹1.28 Lakhs after agreeing to a three-way deal with Young Gun Ujjwal ‘Lord Hendrix’ Narwal who took away ₹1.16 Lakhs and Sanket ‘GHOSTF@CE’ Arora who pocketed ₹95,493.

PokerBaazi’s The Bout ₹10 Lakhs GTD had a reasonably successful run on Monday. Registering 415 entrants (211 unique and 204 re-entries), the event generated a prize pool of ₹10.37 Lakhs. Harsh ‘100crdream’ Kumar outlasted Guruprasad ‘fish_calling’ Gupta (runner-up for ₹1.46 Lakhs) heads-up to walk away with a top prize of ₹2.08 Lakhs. Narwal under the moniker ‘Mr_Robot’ was once again in contention and finished third for ₹93,998.

Adda52’s Monday extravaganza, the Inception ₹10 Lakhs GTD, did not fare as well as its counterparts and suffered an overlay of ₹14,400 on the back of 308 entries (165 unique and 143 re-entries). Prasad ‘goodmanji’ Patil bagged a handsome payday of ₹2.50 Lakhs, after defeating Sahil ‘ImHighIshove’ Mahboobani heads-up. Mahboobani pocketed ₹1.51 Lakhs for his runner-up finish. In fact, Narwal picked up his third final table score of the night in this event. Playing under the moniker ‘fourteenk’, the talented player placed eighth for ₹25,000.

Over at PokerStars India, the Monday Hustle ₹5 Lakhs GTD, clocked in 146 entries (84 unique and 62 re-entries), resulting in a shortfall of ₹62,000. One of the brightest stars on the domestic circuit today, Srihari ‘bangbang1999’ Bang, bested Ayush ‘(Giz^zY)91’ Khandelwal (runner-up for ₹78,590) in the final showdown and took home a top prize worth ₹1.04 Lakhs.
