After a firecracker Sunday, it was the Spartan Super Series (SSS) that kept the action going on an otherwise slow Monday.

The most prominent of the six SSS tourneys that played out on Spartan Poker yesterday was the ₹20 Lakhs GTD SSS#26 ReCharge. The Monday flagship registered 998 participants (430 unique, 186 re-entries, and 382 re-buys), falling just two entries short of break-even. Aditya ‘uoeno’ Bahl sprinted to the top of the field, where he squared off with ‘VforVariance’ heads-up. The duo was quick to agree on a deal that gave Bahl the title and ₹3.12 Lakhs. ‘VforVariance’ collected ₹3.09 Lakhs. The top 87 places were paid, and this included PokerGuru Ambassadors Faiz ‘DrStrange’ Alam (6th for ₹81,400), and Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja (8th for ₹41,400).

The other marquee tourney to take place on Spartan Poker last night was the Deep Freeze ₹6.5 Lakhs GTD. Here again, a turnout of 99 entries resulted in an overlay worth ₹56,000. The heads-up play took place between two good friends. In one corner was the online phenom Anant ‘Pro’ Purohit while on the other was the first-ever Millionaire United champion Mahima Walia ‘mambojojo’ Das. In the end, it was the more experienced Purohit who came out on top to win ₹1.70 Lakhs. Das added ₹1.19 Lakhs to her fast-growing poker bankroll.

Purohit happens to be one of the most successful MTT pros on the circuit today with over ₹4.4 Crores in recorded online winnings. Last night as well, he FT`ed two tourneys, the other deep run fetching him ₹47,618 for his 4th place finish in PokerStars India’s Battle Royale ₹10 Lakhs GTD.

Championing PokerStars India`s Battle Royale was Sandy ‘Ziigmunddd’ Lamba, who ran past a field of 234 entries (127 unique and 107 re-entries) to win ₹2 Lakhs (including bounties). Here again, a below-par turnout resulted in a sizeable ₹64,000 overlay.

Coming back to the Spartan Poker marquees, the SSS#24 Afternoon Showdown ₹5.50 Lakhs GTD brought in 232 entries (112 unique, 48 re-entries and 72 rebuys). Racing past them all was PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘KasolHieghts’ Singh, who won ₹1.27 Lakhs and the title.

An anonymous player with the moniker ‘Expert’ championed the SSS #28 Destiny Jr ₹5 Lakhs GTD, outplaying a field of 425 runners (218 unique, 74 re-entries and 133 rebuys) to win ₹1.68 Lakhs.

Moving over to Adda52’s roster of Monday events, the Inception ₹10 Lakhs GTD, drew a 403-strong field (198 unique and 205 re-entries) to collect ₹12.89 Lakhs in the prize pool. PokerGuru Ambassador Mithun ’themiths’ Mahesh locked horns with ‘donk2degen’ heads-up for the title. In the end, the latter took down the title to win ₹3.19 Lakhs in prize money. Mahesh settled for ₹1.93 Lakhs for finishing one-spot short of the title. PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja placed third for ₹1.35 Lakhs. This for Ahuja was his second FT finish last night. The Chandigarh-based poker pro banked ₹1.76 Lakhs from the two deep runs combined.

The other standout performers were PokerGuru Ambassador Faiz Alam and Sreeharsha Boneni, as both of them posted two FT scores each. Alam placed 6th in the SSS#26 ReCharge for ₹81,400 and finished 8th in SSS #25 for ₹9,300. Boneni won ₹16,770 for his 6th place finish in the SSS #25 and another ₹15,300 for finishing 8th in SSS #28 Destiny Jr.

Unfortunately, technical issues at PokerBaazi led to the site having to cancel all its late-night flagship tourneys, and hence the same could not be reported.
