Friday was choc-a-block with heated action, promising an action-packed weekend ahead! Here is a quick recap of all that went down across the major poker platforms.

Spartan Poker

Spartan Poker`s The Elite returned with a ₹30 Lakhs prize pool guarantee yesterday. With 348 entries (167 unique, 66 re-entries and 115 rebuys) ponying up the ₹11,000 buy-in, the tourney collected a prize pool worth ₹34.80 Lakhs. The heads-up play took place between ‘Avneed’ and Anurag ‘Sangahi’ Sangahi. The latter had on March 13, finished third in this very event. Even though he missed out on the title yet again, he did one better to finish runner up this time for ₹4.95 Lakhs. ‘Avneed’ came out on top to win ₹7.36 Lakhs. Young Gun Anmol ‘Anzzzzz’ Mehta (3rd for ₹3.49 Lakhs), Raghav ‘thatssosick’ Bansal (4th for ₹2.83 Lakhs), Young Gun Devang ‘equity_hunter’ Yadav (1.70 Lakhs), Gaurav ‘VantaBlack’ Gupta (7th for ₹1.24 Lakhs), Sriharsha ‘Potato Player’ Doddapaneni (8th for ₹90,828) and Sumit ‘Sands Myth’ Sapra (9th for ₹75,168) posted FT finishes.

Anmol Mehta

Sapra, who was on-boarded by APL as their brand ambassador last December, went on a blistering run last posting three FT finishes. In addition to his ninth-place finish in The Elite, Sapra placed third in both Spartan Poker`s TGIF (₹1.20 Lakhs) and Adda52’ The Ballers (₹2.81 Lakhs).

Sumit Sapra

Over the past 10 days, Aman ‘KarmaPoker’ Parakh has exerted a consistent presence on the virtual felts, capturing no less than eight title wins and posting at least eight other FT finishes. While Parakh’s title tally now includes PokerBaazi’s PMVS The Ridge, Spartan Poker’s The Race & Deep Freeze, and Adda52’s The Hexagram, he continues to enjoy a dominating position on the monthly TLB Leaderboard.

Parakh was back in beast mode on Friday night as he stormed past 942 entries in the TGIF ₹10 Lakhs GTD that included his heads-up opponent PantherPaw (2nd for ₹1.68 Lakhs) to win ₹2.70 Lakhs. His breakout run last night included runner-up finishes in two other marquee tourneys – PokerBaazi’s The Ridge and PokerStars India`s INSCOOP NLHE 4 Lac Gtd, taking his total winnings for the day to over ₹4.8 Lakhs.

Aman Parakh

Ravinder ‘jason’ Singh was another prominent winner on Spartan Poker as he took down the UVS Monster Stack ₹5 Lakhs GTD. Singh topped a 421-player field and defeated ‘CH@MP’ (runner-up for ₹84,178) heads-up to win ₹1.26 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi’s run of Friday tourneys was spearheaded by the ₹3,300 buy-in Ridge ₹10 Lakhs GTD that logged in 349 entries (186 unique and 163 re-entries) generating a ₹10.47 Lakhs prize pool. MTT crusher Aman ‘KarmaPoker’ Parakh, who has won this event in the past and was riding high on confidence having won the TGIF on Spartan Poker, came close to lifting the trophy again. However, Parakh had a beast of a heads-up opponent in former WSOP champion Aditya ‘gangajal’ Sushant to fend off and was eventually denied the glory. While Parakh pocketed a runner-up finish worth ₹1.54 Lakhs, claiming the bragging rights instead was Sushant. One of our earliest Young Guns, Sushant had an immensely successful run last week when he took down the SSS The Millionaire and The Elite, along with three more FT scores. Adding The Ridge title to his name, Sushant padded his wallet by ₹2.2 Lakhs.
