Friday marked the start of another edition of Spartan Poker’s flagship The Millionaire ₹1 Crore GTD.

The spike in guarantees over Thursday saw many flagships suffering overlays, and two separate high roller tourneys played down to a winner.

Let’s take a quick look at the day’s highlights!

 

Spartan Poker

Making a grand return on Spartan Poker was the site`s ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire. Day 1A of the multi-flight tourney gathered 300 entries (185 unique, 45 re-entries, 100 rebuys), where after almost four hours of non-stop play, only 43 players survived. ‘OrangeZuce’ (268,002), Harshad ‘Laiibhari’ Barve (211,753) and Alok ‘Mazacar’ Birewar (198,615) bagged the top stacks, even as Chandan ‘Meme lover’ Arora (186,086),Sagar ‘strangeplay’ Choudhury (161,168), PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh Pal ‘LuckyBhai$’ Singh (160,932) and Young Gun Gaurav ‘mozzie17’ Sood (139,923) carried forward above-average stacks.

Running alongside the Millionaire was Spartan Poker`s Friday flagship tourney, The Elite. The ₹11,000 entry buy-in tourney ran with a ₹35 Lakhs prize pool guarantee last night but ended up overlaying ₹80,000 after 342 entries (154 unique, 94 re-entries, and 94 rebuys) signed up to play. Navigating his way to the top was PokerGuru Ambassador Gokul ‘Super Kings’ Raj, who banked the generous ₹7.40 Lakhs first-place cash prize, defeating ‘rockgig’ (runner-up for ₹4.98 Lakhs) in the heads-up play. Last Sunday, the former Millionaire champion, Raj, had taken down the Destiny 16.0 SnG Finale for ₹4.50 Lakhs and this latest score has helped him cross the ₹3.75 Crores-mark in recorded earnings!

Myron ‘mehhhhh’ Pereira (3rd for ₹3.51 Lakhs), Jasven ‘Ponkey’ Saigal (4th for ₹2.84 Lakhs), Vishnu ‘violator’ Khandelwal (6th for ₹1.71 Lakhs) and Young Gun Devang ‘equity_hunter’ Yadav (9th for ₹75,600) were others who FT-ed The Elite.

The other Friday marquee, the ₹11 Lakhs GTD TGIF attracted 719 entries for a deficit worth ₹21,500 and the top 71 places walked past the money line. Mystery player ‘Ss_gilli’ championed the tourney for ₹2.12 Lakhs after eliminating Abinash ‘QueenNine’ Kumar Nayak (runner-up for ₹1.33 Lakhs) in second place.

 

PokerStars India

Friday`s biggest draw on PokerStars India was the ₹12 Lakhs GTD Highroller that brought in a modest field of 132 challengers – each of them ponying up the ₹7,700 entry buy-in – to register a landslide ₹2.76 Lakhs overlay and the top 20 places got paid. The player ‘varunkandaswami’ shipped the tourney to win ₹2.62 Lakhs with Vatsalya ‘bhoot_uncle’ Rao finishing runner-up for ₹1.95 Lakhs.

Chandan ‘RunBarryRun’ Arora (3rd for ₹1.46 Lakhs), Sagar ‘sagarpupull’ Choudhury (4th for ₹1.09 Lakhs), Sandeep ‘effuno007’ Varma (5th for ₹81,680), Amar ‘PsykoEko’ B Iyer (6th for ₹61,023), Vishnu ‘violator2018’ Khandelwal (7th for ₹45,590), Guneet ‘GSK1515’ Kwatra (8th for ₹34,060), and Akshay ‘powershell42’ Asawa (9th for ₹29,944) FT-ed the tourney while also collecting TLB points towards the “Star of the Month” leaderboard race!

The ₹2,750 entry buy-in ₹5 Lakhs GTD Battle Royale saw Sandeep ‘effuno007’ Varma RS race past the 151-entry field to win the title along with ₹1.32 Lakhs in prize money. This, along with his fifth-place finish in the Highroller, saw him zoom past ₹1.92 Crores in earnings for the year and over ₹48 Lakhs in net profits!

Adda52

The first of the four opening flights of the ₹60 Lakhs GTD Grand Mega Suits played out last night. Day 1A clocked in 179 participants who signed up for 5,500, and after four hours of non-stop play, only 20 players advanced to Day 2. The chip leader emerged in ‘Jabal’ (362,695) with ‘yud1006’ (349,694) and PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit ‘d00mtr00p3r’ Wadhawan (322,929) close behind.

The site`s Friday night extravaganza, the ₹7,500 entry buy-in ₹22.5 Lakhs GTD The Ballers, pulled in 325 entrants (167 unique and 158 re-entries) to leave an overlay of ₹23,750, and the top 34 places landed in the money zone. After almost nine hours of intense action, ‘PsychG0D’ came out on top for ₹5.62 Lakhs. The former IPC High Roller champion Pranay ‘setmeup’ Chawla finished runner-up for ₹3.40 Lakhs.

Ankur ‘aceleration’ Sehgal (4th for ₹1.87 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘ragspoker’ Munot (5th for ₹1.29 Lakhs), and PokerBaazi`s Weekly Highroller champion Aditya ‘a_sushant’ Sushant (6th for ₹84,375) were the other online regs who FT-ed The Ballers.

In the ₹5.5 Lakhs GTD Running Hot, ‘ankumalik’ was the last player left standing and won ₹1.15 Lakhs after striking a heads-up deal with Himanshu ‘bagdwalhimanshu’ Bagdwal (runner-up for ₹1.12 Lakhs). The tourney registered 248 participants to leave an overlay of ₹54,000, and 27 players finished ITM.

PokerBaazi

Friday marked the return of PokerBaazi`s ₹20 Lakhs GTD The Weekly Highroller. Last night, the tourney attracted 207 entries who ponied up the ₹11,000 entry buy-in and the top 24 finishers took a bite out of the ₹20.7 Lakhs prize pool. Traversing the reg-laden field was none other than India`s first WSOP bracelet winner and former PokerGuru Team Pro, Aditya ‘gangajal’ Sushant, who pocketed ₹5 Lakhs for the win. Nitin ‘philhermouth’ Arora finished runner-up for ₹3.50 Lakhs.

The other prominent players who FT-ed the tourney included Vaibhav ‘WakhraSwagNi’ Sharma (4th for ₹1.66 Lakhs), and Young Gun`s Devang ‘laila’ Yadav (5th for ₹1.25 Lakhs), and Arsh ‘Button_Hai_Bro’ Grover (6th for ₹1 Lakh).

The Grinders #24 Friday SuperStack crowned a champion in Rajneesh ‘msdhoni’ Thakur, who collected ₹77,250 in first-place prize money after beating ‘adit11’ (runner-up for ₹54,090) in the heads-up play. In fact, Thakur scored a double last night as he also shipped the ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD Turbo for ₹44,325, collecting over ₹1.20 Lakhs in total.

 

PokerDangal

Day 1C of PokerDangal`s ₹10 Lakhs GTD Dangal Showdown gathered 160 hopefuls (116 entries and 44 re-buys) who ponied up the ₹990 entry buy-in, and only 16 among them made the cut for Day 2. ‘lelobeta’ (215,222), Rahul ‘JamesDenial007’ Sengar (187,166), and ‘SeaFish’ (158,697) bagged the top stacks of the day.

Along with the 354 entries from the first two flights, the tourney has already registered 514 entries.
