It turned out to be an electrifying Monday for poker players, with three major online stops running across different poker platforms.
PokerGuru Ambassadors continue to pile on scores, and yesterday the team added two IOPC titles on Spartan Poker! Scoring the single-biggest win for the team was Ratul Steves, who championed the ₹22 Lakhs GTD IOPC#30 ReCharge for a cool ₹4.45 Lakhs! The #3 ranked player of 2020, PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja, took down the ₹7 Lakhs GTD IOPC#31 for ₹1.55 Lakhs.
The former PPL MoneyMaker champion Romit Advani came close to capturing his first flagship title of 2021 in PokerBaazi’s ₹30 Lakhs GTD APT#18 Monday Major but lost the APT champion’s trophy to ‘ss23’ (won for ₹5.83 Lakhs). Advani had to contend with ₹4.09 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
Young Gun Anmol Mehta, Pranav Khandalkar, and Bhanu Prakash KC were the day’s other top winners.

Spartan Poker
With the IOPC January Edition underway, Mondays have also picked up steam on Spartan Poker. Headlining the day’s roster was the ₹22 Lakhs GTD IOPC#30 ReCharge that comfortably surpassed its guarantee to post a ₹23.58 Lakhs prize pool from 1,179 entries. It took almost 10 hours for PokerGuru Ambassador Ratul ‘Atriohm’ Steves to clinch the title and the top prize of ₹4.45 Lakhs. The former ValueBomb champion had ended 2020 on a high note by shipping Spartan Poker’s ₹13 Lakhs GTD Ultron on December 31. He has carried his stellar form into 2021 and currently boasts of ₹3.24 Crores in recorded online earnings.
Runner-up Anand ‘OrangeZuce’ Babu Pallikona is an up-and-coming name in the domestic circuit. Last year, he had shipped the ₹35 Lakhs GTD Sunday Superstack on November 29 and the ₹20 Lakhs GTD Mega Stack on December 1. On Monday, he collected ₹2.71 Lakhs for placing second in the IOPC#30 ReCharge.
A special Destiny edition was also hosted on Spartan Poker as part of the ongoing IOPC series. Featuring a ₹10 Lakhs GTD guarantee, the ₹2,200 entry buy-in tourney registered 562 entrants, collecting a guarantee-busting ₹11.24 Lakhs. The event was championed by Aarchit ‘aarchit’ Dhadwal for ₹1.82 Lakhs, while Ishaan ‘ip007’ Pandya finished runner-up for ₹1.76 Lakhs, following a heads-up chop.
The IOPC Destiny Edition will run till January 29, with ₹50,000 deducted from these tournaments’ prize money. This amount will be added as prize money at the Destiny SnG Finale that will take place at 9 PM on January 31.

The ongoing IOPC has a monstrous ₹1 Crore in leaderboard prizes on offer. With Day 5 of the series now in the books, PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘deranzzdd’ Arya sits on top of the leaderboard with 4,307 points, with Kunal ‘NutsTodayBluffTomo’ Patni (4,216 points) and Bhanu ‘spectre’ Prakas KC (4,029 points) close on his heels.

A total of 441 entries signed up for Adda52’s Monday bonanza, the ₹8 Lakhs GTD Iron Man. PokerStars India’s ₹10 Lakhs GTD Highroller champion from last Thursday, Young Gun Anmol ‘anzzzzz’ Mehta, defeated online regular Ayush ‘lazyman’ Garg (runner-up for ₹1.16 Lakhs) heads-up to walk away with a winner’s paycheque worth ₹1.96 Lakhs. This win has boosted Mehta’s online winnings to ₹3.23 Crores.
The former Millionaire and two-time AOPS champion, Ayush Garg, enjoyed a blistering run. Along with his runner-up finish in Iron Man, he also placed third in PokerBaazi’s APT#19 Monsterstack for ₹73,529, collecting over ₹1.89 Lakhs in total winnings.

After almost eight hours of play, Shagun ‘ss23’ Sarda claimed the APT trophy and the ₹5.83 Lakhs cash prize. Seasoned pro Romit ‘tilt83’ Advani banked ₹4.09 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
