With almost all the major poker sites introducing new tournaments and increasing guarantees of existing ones to meet the increasing player demand during the 21-day nationwide lockdown, the action on the online felts continued to pull in the big crowds.
Leading the charge for Spartan Poker yesterday was the Mega Stack ₹30 Lakhs GTD that posted an impressive ₹36.39 Lakhs prize pool on the back of 1,213 entries (532 unique, 235 re-entries and 446 re-buys). PokerGuru Ambassador Rohit ‘ShippingYard’ Mishra trounced the field and banked a cool ₹6.87 Lakhs for the win.
Not satisfied with shipping the biggest tournament on Spartan Poker, Mishra also championed the Afternoon Showdown – Monster Stack ₹8 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.82 Lakhs. The tourney registered 456 entries (212 unique, 79 re-entries and 165 re-buys), posting a prize pool of ₹9.12 Lakhs.
Not done yet, PokerGuru Ambassador Rohit ‘rohit22rm’ Mishra won his third title of the day in PokerBaazi’s Endeavour Mini ₹5 Lakhs GTD, walking home with₹1.77 Lakhs in first-place prize money. Kuldeep ‘Bacchapro’ Jorwal finished second for ₹1.24 Lakhs.
Mishra`s hot run saw him final table PokerStars India’s Super Tuesday ₹5 Lakhs GTD as well, finishing fourth for ₹41,956. In total, Mishra’s trailblazing run fetched him over ₹10 Lakhs in winnings last night! His current recorded online winnings stand tall at ₹2.17 Crores, which includes 42 titles!

Anmol ‘anzzzzz’ Mehta championed the event, after besting Vinay ‘vinay09’ Rajpal (runner-up for ₹2.93 Lakhs) heads-up, adding ₹4.18 Lakhs to his bankroll.
Over at Adda52, the Hitman ₹10 Lakhs GTD drew in 415 entrants (206 unique and 209 e-entries) and surpassed its guarantee to collect ₹13.28 Lakhs in the prize pool. Aman ‘zontory’ Bhadu defeated well-known pro Nishant ‘dojingbullets’ Sharma heads-up to walk away with a winner’s payday of ₹3.29 Lakhs. Sharma pocketed ₹1.99 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
Further consolidating Team PokerGuru’s dominating Tuesday run was PokerGuru Ambassador Naresh ’emperor457′ Veeravalli, who won Adda52’s Hexagram ₹2.50 Lakhs GTD. Veeravalli outlasted a 229-strong entry field (115 unique and 114 re-entries) that helped collect a prize pool worth ₹4.58 Lakhs. Veeravalli is a prominent live cash game player, but following the shutdown of casinos in Goa, he has been putting more volume in the online MTTs and with much success. In the Hexagram, Veeravalli defeated fellow PokerGuru Ambassador Mithun ‘themiths’ Mahesh heads-up to win the title and the top prize of ₹1.24 Lakhs. Mahesh bagged ₹73,280 for his runner-up finish.
PokerStars India’s signature Tuesday tourney, the Sixth Sense ₹10 Lakhs GTD, pulled in 382 entries (200 unique and 182 e-entries), generating a prize pool worth ₹11.46 Lakhs. An unknown player ‘turbulentvein’ came out on top winning ₹1.49 Lakhs, following a three-way deal with ‘Spinnnerr’ (runner-up for ₹1.47 Lakhs) and ‘PsykoEko’ (3rd for ₹1.42 Lakhs).
The other big guaranteed tourney on PokerStars India was the Super Tuesday ₹5 Lakhs GTD, which made its debut run last night. Attracting 171 entries (114 unique and 57 re-entries), the event suffered a shortfall of ₹72,500 on its inaugural run. Varun ‘wardev’ Devayya took down the title, winning ₹1.01 Lakhs.
Up-and-coming poker site, 9stacks kicked of its Take It Down (TID) Series on March 30 with the action set to continue till April 5. Comprising of seven tournaments, the series promises ₹30 Lakhs in prize pool guarantees across all events.
