Friday evenings are usually action-packed, but with two ₹1 Crore GTD tourneys playing out starting flights last night, we’re heading towards a blockbuster Sunday. Nonetheless, there were several epic battles and stellar performances that took place on the virtual felts yesterday. Here`s a complete recap!

Spartan Poker’s flagship tourney, The Millionaire, has made a comeback as part of the site’s ongoing Grand Poker Series (GPS). With a prize pool guarantee of ₹1 Crore, GPS The Millionaire ran the first of its three starting flights yesterday. The flagship tourney made a strong start with Day 1A logging in 434 entries, each ponying up the ₹5,500 entry buy-in.

After nearly five hours of action, only 56 runners remained in contention with Neeraj ns12pathak’ Sharma bagging the most massive stack of 291,174. PokerGuru Ambassador Ratul ‘Atriohn’ Steves (209,512) and the former IOPC Main Event champion Harshit ‘HeroCaller’ Sanghi (182,764) carried forward the next top stacks.

The Friday night showstopper, the ₹35 Lakhs GTD GPS #40 The Elite, was the day`s biggest guaranteed tourney to play down to a winner. Starting at 9.30 PM, the ₹11,000 entry buy-in tourney experienced an overlay of ₹2 Lakhs from a turnout of 330 entries. It turned out to be an eight-hour-long run to the finish line, and wading past the crowd of regs was a familiar name on the domestic circuit Sahil ‘$lim$hady19’ Chutani. The former Young Gun defeated ‘Chickenbutter’ in his final clash to win ₹7.40 Lakhs. He now has lifetime winnings worth ₹1.57 Crores.

With ‘Chickenbutter’ taking up the second place for ₹4.98 Lakhs, other known players on the FT include Myron ‘mehhhhh’ Pereira (3rd for ₹3.51 Lakhs), Siddarth ‘PeterPunter’ Singhvi (6th for ₹1.71 Lakhs), Yash ‘ayush123’ Dalma (8th for ₹91,350) and Vatsalya ‘TooEasy’ Rao (9th for ₹75,600).

Pereira enjoyed a blistering run with two FT finishes as he also placed fifth in PokerBaazi’s ₹3 Lakhs GTD Friday SuperStack for ₹20,610.

The ₹12 Lakhs GTD GPS #39 TGIF registered a shortfall of ₹13,500 on the back of 791 entries with Ritwik ‘Fisherman1997’ Khanna toppling PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja heads-up to capture the title and the ₹2.31 Lakhs first-place cash prize. Ahuja, listed as the official runner-up, pocketed ₹1.45 Lakhs for his efforts.

The Chandigarh-based Ahuja found redemption after taking down the Highroller on PokerStars India for total winnings of over ₹4.50 Lakhs last night.

In the ₹1,650 entry buy-in ₹5.25 Lakhs GTD GPS #41 Monster Stack, the former Full House Finale champion Md. Barrel_57’ Zeeshan bested the 459-strong field to win ₹1.18 Lakhs after striking a heads-up deal with ‘VishalMaharaj’ (runner-up for ₹1.01 Lakhs).

On Friday night, PokerStars India saw some high roller action unfold with the ₹15 Lakhs GTD Highroller kicking off at 7.30 PM. A total of 170 entries made their way into the tourney, resulting in an overlay worth ₹2.25 Lakhs.

The Chandigarh-based PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja had only a day ago made the headlines after banking a whopping ₹7.10 Lakhs for his third-place finish in the ₹55 Lakhs GTD GPS #34 High Roller. He did two places better last night as he defeated Young Gun Anmol ‘Kaanchacheena’ Mehta (2nd for ₹2.26 Lakhs) to pocket the first-place prize of ₹3.03 Lakhs. The victory also catapulted him to #5 on the “Star of the Month” leaderboard.

Ahuja was a serious contender to win Spartan Poker’s ₹12 Lakhs GTD GPS #39 TGIF as well! He eventually finished runner-up for ₹1.45 Lakhs. Overall, Ahuja has more than ₹5.72 Crores in lifetime winnings and looks in a hurry to get past the ₹ 6 Crore-mark!

Varun ‘wardev’ Devayya (3rd for ₹1.68 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘chipcharity999’ Munot (4th for ₹1.25 Lakhs), Young Gun Arsh ‘BiggggTymeR’ Grover (5th for ₹93,914), former Millionaire Lite champion Dhinesh ‘you3betl4bet’ Kumar (6th for ₹70,073) and PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer ‘ballistik310’ Singh Chadha (7th for ₹52,284) were the other notables who FT-ed the TGIF.

PokerBaazi’s Friday night special, ₹20 Lakhs GTD The Weekly HighRoller, had 213 contenders in the fray, collecting a guarantee-smashing ₹21.3 Lakhs prize pool. Once again, it was Young Gun Gaurav ‘gaug17’ Sood who battled past the competition to take down the tourney for ₹5.01 Lakhs.

Only 28 runners were able to carry a stack forward with Vaibhav alienrobot’ Sharma emerging as the end of the day chip leader with 382,289 in chips. ‘sandvik250’ (352,359) and Ankit ‘loser05’ Khattar (344,462) rounding out the top three stacks from the flight.
