When the dust settled, it was a well-known pro and coach Kanishka ‘Wildflower’ Samant, who came out on top to win the Destiny title for the second time. The victory assured him a seat in the Destiny SnG Finale and a ₹6.53 Lakhs payday that he collected after a three-way deal with Arjunn ‘SirMucksAlot’ Agrawal (runner-up for ₹5.61 Lakhs) and Rishab ‘NoChanc3’ Malik (3rd for ₹4.61 Lakhs). Samant’s best score on the site dates back to April 2019, when he had won the Destiny 8.0 Finale for ₹10 Lakhs.

The ₹4 Lakhs GTD Mega Freeze had a profitable run as well. The event accrued ₹4.26 Lakhs in the prize pool on the back of 142 entries. Making the most of the over 7-hour-long grind was Sahil ‘ImHighIshove’ Mahboobani, who collected ₹1.02 Lakhs for the win. PokerGuru Ambassador Mithun ‘Intuitionnn’ Mahesh finished runner-up for ₹69,438. Mahboobani happens to be one of the biggest online winners in the country and sits with over ₹5.12 Crores in recorded cashes. Along with the Mega Freeze victory, he FT-ed PokerStars India’s Night on Stars last night, placing 8th in for ₹17,291.

 

PokerBaazi

The week ahead promises to an exciting one at PokerBaazi. The site’s five-day-long PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series (PMVS) with over ₹1.85 Crores GTD, kicked off yesterday with five events on the opening day`s roster. The featured tourney of the day was the ₹10 Lakhs GTD PMVS #3 Pride. The event logged in 386 entries to frame a prize pool worth 11.58 Lakhs. Ranked #12 on the yearly leaderboard, Chirag ‘miyagi’ Sodha added ₹2.43 Lakhs more to his tally after edging past online reg Deepak ‘Deepakchawla87’ Chawla (runner-up for ₹1.70 Lakhs) heads-up.

Sodha has already accumulated ₹1.56 Crores in winnings this year, while his overall record reflects ₹3.94 Crores. He is fast approaching the magical ₹4 Crore-mark.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD PMVS#4 7-Max drew 223 entries, registering an overlay of ₹54,000. In the end, Bharat ‘Thinkfloyd’ Vasan championed the tourney to win ₹1.18 Lakhs, beating ‘naijjaking’ (runner-up for ₹82,550) heads-up for the title.

 

Adda52

The AOPS series that had to be rescheduled due to technical interruptions on the site resumed its final leg yesterday.

Setting up the stage for a grand finale on Sunday was the ₹3 Crores GTD AOPS Main Event. The first starting flight registered 403 entries on Wednesday, and only 42 runners could make it through to Day 2. Bagging the most massive stack of the day was Rohit‘Ddarsh’ Agarwal with a stack of 381,575. Young Gun Kanchan ‘thandicoke’ Sharma (370,567) and Guneet ‘guntz’ Kwatra (336,124) rounded out the top three stacks.

The ₹2,750 buy-in AOPS Wheel brought in a lucrative 837-entry field that helped collect ₹20.93 Lakhs in the prize pool. Walking away with the lion`s share of the prize money worth ₹4.32 Lakhs was anonymous user ‘Wwm’ after cutting a heads-up deal with Prakash ‘incredible7493’ Gupta (runner-up for ₹3.61 Lakhs). This happens to be the unknown player’s biggest score on the site by far.

The runner-up Gupta also secured his most significant win on the site. His previous best score was a modest ₹56,079 that he had won for finishing fifth in the Maverick in January.

There was another ₹15 Lakhs GTD tourney that ran on Adda52 yesterday. The ₹7,500 buy-in AOPS Monster Stack registered 232 entries to collect ₹15.89 Lakhs in the prize pool. The fight for the title came down to a heads-up between PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer ‘arjan30’ Singh Chadha and Raghav ‘balugawhale’ Bansal. Ultimately, it was Chadha who prevailed and won ₹4.36 Lakhs. Bansal collected ₹2.54 Lakhs for his finish.

Chadha is the second biggest winner on Adda52 this year behind Sanat Mehrotra, and this victory has catapulted him to the #6 spot on the yearly leaderboard.

The Chandigarh-based pro has an illustrious poker resume that shows ₹4.7 Crores in winnings, and the victory brought him his fourth AOPS title. He has previously won the AOPS PLO Bounty, AOPS Maverick, and his biggest online score of ₹30 Lakhs in the AOPS Mini Main Event Finale. Incredible, Chadha FT-ed PokerBaazi’s PMVS The Pride as well, finishing 5th for ₹60,795.

 

PokerStars India

PokerStars India hosted its Wednesday special ₹8 Lakhs GTD Night on Stars. Again, a below-par turnout of 278 entries resulting in a massive ₹1.05 Lakhs shortfall. Adding to the team`s tally was PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘bhasm@sur1’ Arya, who defeated top online reg Rajat ‘sharabikebabi’ Sharma (runner-up for ₹1.11 Lakhs) heads-up to win ₹1.52 Lakhs.

Sporting the same ₹2,750 buy-in, the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Big Bubble Rush managed to bring in 190 runners. This resulted in an overlay amounting to ₹25,000. ‘rdx1111’ ran past the competition, including his heads-up rival ‘rohhit2’ (2nd for ₹52,719) to win the first-place cash prize of ₹1.10 Lakhs.

One of the day’s standout winners was Guneet Kwatra, who posted two FT finishes on Wednesday.He placed 7th in PokerBaazi’s PMVS The Pride for ₹40,530 and 9th in the AOPS Monster Stack for ₹31,784.
