Thursdays are obviously not as action-packed as the weekends, but there was big money on the table with sites playing out their weekly flagships. Let’s take a look at the tournament highlights and some of the standout performers.

Spartan Poker

The Thursday tournament action on Spartan Poker was topped by the Ultron that on a ₹4,400 entry buy-in promised a prize pool guarantee of ₹18 Lakhs. A total of 502 entries (244 unique, 85 re-entries, and 173 rebuys) entered the arena helping the event generate a prize pool worth ₹20.08 Lakhs. The action began at 8 PM and lasted more than seven-and-half hours. Making it past an FT infested with regs were Bharat ‘dorasingh’ Vasan and Guneet ‘guntz’ Kwatra. Vasan emerged triumphant in the heads-up duel to claim the top prize of ₹3.91 Lakhs.

Vasan also FT-ed PokerBaazi’s Thursday MonsterStack, where he finished eighth for ₹20,603.

As for Kwatra, who had finished runner-up in Adda52’s The Ballers on Friday for ₹3.43 Lakhs, another runner-up score last night added a fat ₹2.48 Lakhs to his bankroll.

PokerGuru Ambassador Nadeem ‘blindgame’ Basha (3rd for ₹1.86 Lakhs), Paras ‘AAKKQQJJ’ Jain (4th for ₹1.50 Lakhs), Vinayak ‘haayegarmi’ Bajaj (5th for ₹1.18 Lakhs) and PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved (9th for ₹40,160) were the other prominent players who FT-ed the Ultron.

Starting precisely 90 minutes after the Ultron was the ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD Monster Stack. The tournament fared exceptionally well and with 508 entries generated over 25% more than its advertised guarantee to garner a ₹10.16 Lakhs prize pool. And extending his hot run for another day was budding poker talent, Armaan ‘space ace’ Kochhar. The Dubai-based player has been on a heater all through the past two weeks and had only a day ago shipped Adda52`s Maverick for ₹3.07 Lakhs alongside two titles on PokerStars India. Last night, Kochhar championed the Monster Stack to add another title to his name – his 19th title this month! The win fattened Kochhar’s bankroll by ₹1.97 Lakhs. ‘UnityPro’ finished runner-up for ₹1.23 Lakhs.

Armaan Kochhar

Not done yet, Kochhar placed fifth in the ₹10 Lakhs GTD PokerStars India Uppercut MAGIC Edition for ₹43,154. Kochhar now has more than ₹2.86 Crores in recorded online winnings but looking at how he’s going, it wouldn’t be surprising if he crosses the ₹3-Crore mark within the coming week!

PokerStars India

PokerStars India’s Thursday mainstay, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut MAGIC Edition, returned for another weekly run. Compared to last week, when the tourney had registered 275 entries, only 226 entries were recorded last night – 125 of them being unique players. As a result, the event experienced an overlay of ₹96,000. PokerStars India regular ‘raghav1990’ eventually toppled the field to snag the title for ₹2.18 Lakhs.

Sunday’s The Millionaire ₹1 Crore GTD runner-up Sagar ‘sagarpupull’ Choudhury placed second to add ₹1.12 Lakhs to his scorecard.

Akshat ‘takingcuntrol’ Sharma (4th for ₹47,117) and Armaan ‘armaan007111’ Kochhar (5th for ₹43,154) were the other FT finishers in the Uppercut.

Over at the ₹3 Lakhs GTD The Classic, Prashanth ‘nemesis9961’ Sekar topped 103 entries to win ₹78,340.

Adding points on the ongoing PokerStars India “Star of the Month” leaderboard race was ‘[email protected],’ who won the qualifying tournament ₹1 Lakhs GTD Bigstack Turbo for ₹19,327.

Adda52’s ₹5,500 entry buy-in Godfather returned for its weekly run, but its guarantee was slashed by ₹5 Lakhs to promise a ₹25 Lakhs GTD prize pool. The tournament attracted 516 runners (271 unique and 245 re-entries) to register a guarantee-smashing ₹25.80 Lakhs prize pool. The top 55 players earned a share of the spoils, and coming out on top after nine hours of action was seasoned pro Sanat ‘mehro2511’ Mehrotra. The online phenom, who had won the site’s flagship ₹1 Crore GTD Full House Finale in June for a career-best score of ₹25 Lakhs, banked the single-largest score on Thursday worth ₹6.19 Lakhs following an intense heads-up clash with Rohit ‘Ikkatikka’ Setia (runner-up for ₹3.61 Lakhs).

The hefty payday has boosted Mehrotra’s lifetime online scorecard to ₹3.56 Crores.

Aman ‘amankej’ Kejriwal (3rd for ₹2.45 Lakhs), Sumit ‘Hammer_Head’ Sapra (4th for ₹1.93 Lakhs), and PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh Pal ‘BoomTilt23′ Yadav (6th for ₹90,300) FT-ed the Godfather.

The ₹2,750 entry buy-in ₹4 Lakhs GTD Table for 6 saw Rajat Happyfish’ Mahajan navigate his way through the 166-strong field to win the title and ₹1.12 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi returned with its Thursday night extravaganza, the ₹18 Lakhs GTD The Summit. The ₹8,250 entry buy-in event began at 8 PM. By the time registrations closed, it had surpassed the listed guarantee to collect well over ₹19.13 Lakhs in prize money from 255 entries. Running past the rest of the competition to eventually claim the title and the ₹4.50 Lakhs up-top was ‘branthebroken,’ who beat ‘RabDaKutta’ (runner-up for ₹3.15 Lakhs) heads-up.

Seasoned pro Sahil ‘ImHighIshove’ Mahboobani fell places short of the title to collect a third-place score of ₹2.03 Lakhs. Mahboboani also final tabled the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Grinders #19 Thursday MonsterStack, where he placed fourth for ₹41,310 to make it past the ₹6 Crore-mark in total online winnings across the domestic sites.

Sahil Mahboobani

Muthukumar ‘hero1965’ Rajagopalan (4th for ₹1.50 Lakhs), Young Gun Devang ‘laila’ Yadav (6th for ₹90,270) and PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705Ahuja (7th for ₹74,970) were the other known names on the 7-max FT.

Like The Summit, even the Thursday MonsterStack was also able to breach its posted guarantee and mustered a ₹5.13 Lakhs prize pool on the back of 205 entries. ‘Jatin.ahuja’ proved the last player standing and padded their bankroll by ₹1.24 Lakhs even as ‘abhishekthoke’ finished runner-up for ₹86,770.

The ₹10 Lakhs GTD Dangal Showdown pulled in a relatively bigger field on Day 1B yesterday. Another 202 hopefuls (122 unique and 80 re-entries) ponied up the ₹990 entry buy-in, and the flight ran the course for little more than four hours, halting when only 23 remained in contention. This narrowed group will be taking their chips to Day 2 scheduled for Sunday.

gutshot35’ (188,964), ‘abhiroopron (146,657), and ‘MaxTiltGoa’ (146,426) bagged the top stacks of the day.

Along with the 152 Day 1A entries, there are now 354 entries already logged in the tourney.
