Wednesday reigned in an eventful day of MTT action with PokerStars India awarding another 11 Summer Series titles.
The day`s top scorer was the former Two-of-a-Kind winner Ghanshyam Tripathi, who championed Spartan Poker’s Destiny for the second time, netting ₹7.92 Lakhs. Sanket Arora came second for ₹4.87 Lakhs.
PokerStars India`s “Star of the Month” – February Armaan Kochhar came out on top in Adda52’s Maverick for the second time, winning ₹2.81 Lakhs.
The March The Millionaire champion PokerGuru Ambassador Vishal Bajaj banked his fourth title of the year in PokerStars India’s Summer Series-17 “Night on Stars” to collect ₹2.26 Lakhs.
The ranked #1 player of the year, Manish Lakhotia, placed runner-up in PokerBaazi’s The Pride for ₹1.88 Lakhs, with ‘Lucif3rr‘ winning the title for a personal-best ₹2.69 Lakhs.
Rohit Mishra, Kunal Patni, Aditya Singh, Abhiroop Gupta, Clinton Tavares, Ashish Garg, Bharath Kumar, Abhishek Sonu, Vasu Ramanan, and Umesh Sharma were the other prominent winners of the day.

Spartan Poker
Like all the weekday flagships on Spartan Poker so far this week, Destiny ran with a slightly reduced ₹28 Lakhs prize pool guarantee last night, a ₹1 Lakh reduction over last week. However, the ₹5,500 entry buy-in event ended up posting a whopping ₹30.45 Lakhs prize pool from an entry-field of 609 participants. Starting at 8 PM, the event ended at 4:09 AM with the former Two-of-a-Kind champion Ghanshyam ‘Tiger10’ Tripathi walking away with his second Destiny title and a ₹7.92 Lakhs payday. Sanket ‘BANK$Y’ Arora secured the runner-up cash prize of ₹4.87 Lakhs.
Ghanshyam Tripathi had won the Destiny for the first time in October 2018 for ₹6.62 Lakhs. He now sits atop ₹2.3 Crores in recorded earnings on Spartan Poker (₹89.25 Lakhs in site profits). He also became the ninth player to book a seat in the Destiny 19.0 SnG Finale set for June 13 (9 PM).
The Destiny runner-up finisher Sanket Arora posted two more scores, raking in close to ₹5.07 Lakhs through the day. He now boasts ₹3.78 Crores in lifetime winnings (₹91.12 Lakhs in net profits).
Like Destiny, Spartan Poker`s Wednesday Vibes also offered a slightly reduced ₹8.50 Lakhs guarantee than last week. The event registered 660 entries, collecting ₹9.90 Lakhs in the prize pool. The anonymous user ‘OldDogNewTricks’ shipped the tourney to win ₹1.90 Lakhs, besting PokerStars India`s “Star of the Month“ – December Siddharth ‘cooking_nuts’ Gangwar (runner-up for ₹1.22 Lakhs) in the heads-up play. ‘OldDogNewTricks’ improved his Spartan Poker winnings to ₹11.25 Lakhs.
Gangwar posted four more ITM finishes yesterday, including a runner-up score worth ₹19,188 in PokerStars India’s Summer Series-20 Deep Hyper. With ₹1.63 Lakhs in Wednesday winnings, his lifetime earnings touched ₹79.01 Lakhs (₹33.89 Lakhs in net profits).

Day 2 of PokerStars India`s inaugural Summer Series awarded another 11 titles. The day`s headliner, the ₹12 Lakhs GTD Summer Series-17 Night on Stars, had to fill in ₹94,000 in overlays after 316 challengers bought in for ₹3,850. The 7:30 PM event got in the books at 3:40 AM today with PokerGuru Ambassador & The Millionaire – March champion, Vishal ‘Vishalb22’ Bajaj, coming out on top to win ₹2.26 Lakhs.
This was Vishal Bajaj’s fourth title of the year and his second time winning the Night on Stars title. His lifetime earnings have crossed ₹2.65 Crores (₹80.58 Lakhs in net profits).
The first-ever WPT Vietnam Main Event champion Dhaval ‘BithBecool’ Mudgal placed runner-up for ₹1.69 Lakhs. He also FT-ed PokerBaazi’s The Pride, securing the eighth-place cash prize worth ₹35,868. Mudgal now has ₹3.19 Crores in lifetime winnings and ₹96.15 Lakhs in net profits (excluding PokerStars India stats).
The banker turned poker pro Kunal ‘iAlwaysHaveit’ Patni shipped the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Summer Series-19 Deepstack for ₹99,190, topping 197 entries. Rising Star Aman ‘KarmaPoker77’ Parakh finished runner-up for ₹76,050. The ₹2,750 entry buy-in tourney logged in 197 contestants, and the top 23 places made it in the money.

PokerStars India`s “Star of the Month” – February Armaan ‘tandavam’ Kochhar walked away with the lion`s share of the prize money worth ₹2.81 Lakhs after striking a three-way deal with Mohit ‘thejokerrrr’ Mehta (runner-up for ₹2.74 Lakhs) and ‘wazza92’ (3rd for ₹2.42 Lakhs).
This is the second time the former Destiny champion Armaan Kochhar has lifted the Maverick trophy. In October 2020, he had championed the Maverick for the first time for ₹3.08 Lakhs. Known for putting in insane volume in MTTs, Kochhar cashed in seven more events, working up a cumulative ₹3.22 Lakhs in Wednesday winnings. The Maverick runner-up finisher Mohit Mehta had a field day on Adda52 last night with a deep run in the La Luna as well. He placed fifth in the 9:30 PM marquee for ₹31,968, collectively earning ₹3.05 Lakhs last night.
The ₹4 Lakhs GTD La Luna logged in 339 runners to collect ₹5.56 Lakhs in the prize pool (almost 40% more than its listed guarantee). The field whittled down to a heads-up showdown between Rohit ‘rohit22rm’ Mishra & Sumit ‘sumit4game’ Saurav. The more experienced Mishra prevailed, winning his first tourney title of the year for ₹1.39 Lakhs. Sumit Saurav received ₹84,228 for his runner-up finish.

Spartan Poker has been reducing the tournament guarantees but receiving better turnouts. The trend repeated itself in the ₹8.50 Lakhs GTD Wednesday Vibes that recorded 660 total participants – a significant improvement over the 620 entries last Wednesday. Needless to say, the advertised guarantee was blown away, with 55 places catching a piece of the ₹9.90 Lakhs prize pool.
After almost eight hours of intense action, the mystery player ‘OldDogNewTricks’ walked away with the title and ₹1.90 Lakhs in prize money. Siddharth ‘cooking_nuts’ Gangwar raked in ₹1.22 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
Siddharth Gangwar has been on a heater since last week. He had won Destiny last week for an impressive ₹6.78 Lakhs and followed that up by taking down House Party three days later for ₹1.21 Lakhs.
