Who says Thursdays are dull and boring?! Certainly not on the virtual felts that were full to the brim with high-octane action!

Spartan Poker

The showstopper tourney of the day was Spartan Poker`s Ultron ₹30 Lakhs GTD, where a field of 798 entries (365 unique players, 132 re-entries and 301 rebuys) helped generate a prize pool worth ₹31.92 Lakhs. Chandran ‘mechchan01’ Ramasamy traversed the vast field, besting ‘Rohini Sharma’ (runner-up for ₹3.88 Lakhs) to win ₹6.16 Lakhs.

The other marquee tourney on the site, the Big Bounty ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD logged in 336 entries (197 unique, 39 re-entries and 100 re-buys), falling ₹78,000 short on the guarantee. Topping the competition was the site regular ‘SAMWELL TARLY,’ who won ₹1.74 Lakhs after striking a heads-up deal with Kanishka ‘Wildflower’ Samant. Notably, Samant collected a larger ₹1.76 Lakhs in prize money.

It has been encouraging to see the increasing participation of women in the game, and last night brought two big finishes by women players! The first came from the usual suspect, the first-ever Millionaire United champion Mahima ‘mambojojo’ Walia Das, who took down the Ultimate PLO on Spartan Poker for ₹72,188. Another active poker pro Kanchan ‘Bubblegum’ Sharma did well to finish seventh in the Ultron for ₹1.01 Lakhs.

Incidentally, Bang ran deep in Spartan Poker’s Monster Stack as well, where he posted a sixth-place finish worth ₹31,382.

‘CopyNinja’ and Vivekk ‘Vivek25’ Dube were the two other big winners on PokerBaazi. ‘CopyNinja’ topped a 219-entry field (122 unique and 97 re-entries) that included his heads-up opponent Dinesh ‘Daddu26’ Singh (runner-up for ₹1.24 Lakhs) to win the Summit Mini ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.76 Lakhs.

Dube, on the other hand, denied Anirban D. ‘pottysingh’ Das (2nd for ₹97,820) the Thursday MonsterStack ₹5 Lakhs GTD title and pocketed ₹1.39 Lakhs.

Moving over to the ongoing PBBS #19 Main Event that pulled in 158 entries (112 unique and 203 re-entries) on Flight 4. After hours of action, only 15 survived the onslaught. Topping the chip counts was Prabhat ‘gudmorning’ Kumar (379,000), with Dhaval ‘dhavhe’ Heda (281,000) and ‘chokku’ (200,000) rounding out the top three stacks from the flight.

The site seems to be having several grand plans up its sleeves for May. A special edition of PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series (PMVS) promising ₹2.2 Crores guaranteed across 25 events is coming up next week. The series commences on May 6 and will run till May 10. From what we hear, the site also plans to announce a month-long cash game promotion, aka TDS Carnival, where players may be able to avail up to 100% tax-free withdrawals in exchange for reward points. Stay tuned on PokerGuru for more updates on this.

Adda52

The Godfather ₹25 Lakhs GTD headlined the action at Adda52 last night. As many as 708 runners (357 unique and 351 re-entries) signed up to play, making for a ₹35.40 Lakhs prize pool. This also seems to be the single largest online score for Parthasarathi.
