Mondays have always been slow on the virtual felts – a day when the regs take a day off to unwind after a hectic weekend, and yesterday was no different. With the party over for all the prominent online series, it was back to the regular Monday schedule across sites, and all the flagships got hammered with overlays!

Here is the complete recap.

Spartan Poker

The ₹12 Lakhs GTD ReCharge headlined the action on Spartan Poker on Monday. A player pool of 487 contenders was seen ponying up the ₹2,200 buy-in; nevertheless, the tourney still struggled to meet its advertised guarantee, ultimately incurring a deficit of ₹2.26 Lakhs. Mystery user ‘israp’ came out on top with ₹2.33 Lakhs in first-place prize money, while Pranav ‘pranavpoker’ Khandalkar padded his bankroll with a runner-up payout worth ₹1.48 Lakhs.

With this win, the champion has reached ₹5.88 Lakhs in earnings on Spartan Poker; however, they are still in the red for ₹1.89 Lakhs. Khandalkar, on the other hand, has accumulated ₹2.06 Crores in recorded online winnings, of which ₹73.47 Lakhs he has earned on Spartan Poker. Khandalkar also final tabled The Flash, finishing eighth for ₹14,160, taking his cumulative score for the night to ₹1.62 Lakhs.

The ₹6 Lakhs GTD The Flash suffered an overlay of ₹52,000 on the back of 548 entries. Rishab ‘rishabjain1983’ Jain triumphed over the field, which included defeating ‘yeaces’ (runner-up for ₹85,850) heads-up, to claim the title and top prize worth ₹1.04 Lakhs. Jain had won his last title in May when he had shipped PokerStars India’s ₹2 Lakhs GTD INSCOOP-28 Sixth Sense for ₹50,042. More than three months later, he finally broke away from the dry spell by winning a title. Jain also final tabled Spartan Poker’s Night Rider – Monster Stack, placing eighth for ₹6,690. He presently has ₹42.28 Lakhs in lifetime winnings.

Adda52

With the AOPS out of the way, Adda52 returned to its regular schedule of tournaments. The signature event that ran on Monday was the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Inception. After registering 290 entrants, the site had to fill in an overlay of ₹72,000. Shekhar ‘Brat_Poker’ Singh, who had won the Sunday Punch ₹5 Lakhs GTD on August 16, emerged victorious in this event, adding ₹2.56 Lakhs to his bankroll. Utkarsh ‘sam20542’ Srivastava finished runner-up for ₹1.52 Lakhs. Before this win, Singh was ranked #70 on the weekly leaderboards, and he jumped up four spots after the big finish.

Adda52’s ₹3 Lakhs GTD Hexagram was also hit by the overlay express. With 139 participants joining the competition, the tourney fell ₹22,000 short of the break-even mark. The anonymous user ‘Danger3040’ bested ‘ashu1990’ (runner-up for ₹55,500) heads-up to win the title and ₹84,750.

PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi`s ₹10 Lakhs GTD Bout attracted 342 entries, but it still wasn’t enough to meet the listed guarantee, resulting in a shortfall of ₹1.45 Lakhs. Prateek ‘khotasikka’ Singh decimated the field, banking the ₹2.10 Lakhs up-top, while Deepak ‘DEEPAKALLIN’ Sachdeva had to contend with a second-place payout of ₹1.47 Lakhs. Singh has accrued ₹20.92 Lakhs in winnings on PokerBaazi, with a profit of ₹8.02 Lakhs.

Himanshu ‘ISquirtBullets’ Dewan championed the ₹2 Lakhs GTD Grinders#4 Monday MegaStack for ₹60,000, just as site regular ‘Hades’ came in second for ₹42,000. The event garnered 85 entries, registering an overlay of ₹30,000.
