The action keeps picking up the pace as we get closer to the weekend. While the first few days this week saw the flagships marred with overlays, Thursday had most of the marquees surpassing their listed guarantees.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at what went down yesterday!
Spartan Poker
Thursday was much better in terms of turnouts for Spartan Poker as the day’s signature tourney, the ₹18 Lakhs GTD Ultron, accumulated a ₹18.20 Lakhs prize pool on the back of 455 entries. Playing under the moniker ‘PAPITO,’ Yohan Patel took down the event and claimed the top prize worth ₹3.64 Lakhs, while runner-up Rajat ‘BloatedBelly’ Mahajan settled for a ₹2.39 Lakhs payout.
Wednesday’s ₹25 Lakhs GTD Destiny champion ‘Midge Maisel’ rounded out the top three finishes by placing third for ₹1.77 Lakhs.
Patel’s last title win had come in PokerBaazi’s ₹20 Lakhs GTD The Summit on August 27. Last night’s win was a welcome one for the player who now has ₹1.61 Crores in recorded online earnings.
The Freezeout Master Series (FMS) hit the ground running last night, and the ₹3.75 Lakhs GTD FMS#4 was one of the marquee events on offer. The tourney suffered a ₹60,000 deficit after logging in 105 runners. Young Gun Shardul ‘Faucet Failure’ Parthasarathi emerged victorious and took home ₹95,813 in first-place prize money, after besting ‘karanmangla’ who received ₹66,000 for their runner-up finish.
Adda52
Adda52’s ₹30 Lakhs GTD Godfather was the biggest guaranteed tourney of the day. Sporting a ₹5,500 entry buy-in, the primetime tournament commenced at 8 PM, dragging in 532 entries by the time late registration was closed. The event still suffered a glaring overlay of ₹3.40 Lakhs. The Godfather culminated at 3:46 AM, and the last player standing was Siddartha ‘Siddyk20’ Khandelwal, who banked an impressive ₹5.61 Lakhs. ‘AniShisPsychic’ settled for a second-place finish worth ₹4.14 Lakhs. This was Khandelwal’s biggest-score on the site.
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Table For 6 was championed by ‘poker_king52’ for ₹1.43 Lakhs, with Aarchit ‘Aarchit’ Dhadwal placing runner-up for ₹83,688.
PokerBaazi
Headlining the Wednesday roster on PokerBaazi was The Summit that ran with a ₹20 Lakhs prize pool guarantee. The ₹8,250 entry buy-in tourney registered 270 entries and surpassed its advertised guarantee by ₹25,000. The field whittled down to a heads-up showdown between Young Gun Ujjwal ‘Mr_Robot’ Narwal and the first-ever BPT Main Event champion Puneet ‘neo1’ Dua. In the end, it was Narwal who clinched the title for a ₹4.47 Lakhs payday. Dua bagged the runner-up cash prize worth ₹3.13 Lakhs.
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Thursday MonsterStack gathered 212 entries, collecting ₹5.30 Lakhs in the prize pool. Mystery user ‘Learnnwin’ shipped the event for ₹1.27 Lakhs.
PokerStars India
With the INCOOP now in the books, PokerStars India’s Thursday night bonanza was the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut Magic Edition that clocked in 274 contenders, generating a guarantee-smashing ₹10.96 Lakhs prize pool. PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit ‘b00mtr00p3r’ Wadhawan ran past the competition to bank the ₹1.84 Lakhs first-place cash prize. Divik ‘Carpediem55555’ Arora placed runner-up for ₹1.14 Lakhs.
A promising young talent, Wadhawan currently has ₹3.56 Crores in recorded online earnings.
The second marquee tourney running on the site, the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Battle Royale, was taken down by ‘whowizz’ for ₹91,760, following a heads-up chop with ‘nikpokernoob’ (runner-up for ₹59,999).
PokerDangal
The second day of the PokerDangal’s inaugural Dangal Grinders Series (DGS) had 181 entries joining Day 1B of the ₹10 Lakhs GTD DGS Main Event. Following several hours of play, the field whittled down to just 19 survivors who advanced to Day 2. Here’s to a night well spent. Easily the biggest win of my shortish poker career so far.
