After a slow start to the week, the action really revved up on Friday, and there were several standout performers. By the looks of the numbers that came in for the GPS Millionaire and Adda52’s Full House, the weekend rush has also begun!
Let’s take a look at the prominent Friday winners.
Spartan Poker
Spartan Poker’s Grand Poker Series (GPS) began the first of the three headline tournaments on the schedule – the ₹1 Crore GTD GPS The Millionaire – on Friday night. Day 1A mustered 429 entries, and only 57 players survived the five hours of play. Bagging the most massive stack of the day was none other than the most recent Millionaire champion, Ayush ‘HighHopes’ Garg (363,608). Garg had won The Millionaire last Sunday for ₹12.60 Lakhs and is currently #1 in the weekly rankings with ₹15.28 Lakhs in earnings. He seems to be gearing up for another super profitable Sunday since he also topped the end of Day 1B chip counts in Adda52’s Full House!
‘TheDarkKnightReturns’ (329,017) and ‘doubledown’ (249,968) are the next top stacks from Day 1A in the GPS The Millionaire.
The GPS Friday schedule had three big-ticket tourneys playing down to a winner, and the biggest draw among them was the ₹40 Lakhs GTD GPS Grand – The Elite. Anonymous player ‘HatodaTyagi’ bested the 378-strong field to win a sizeable ₹8.46 Lakhs. If this was ‘HatodaTyagi’s first major title on the site, runner-up finisher Siddhanth ‘sidstack’ Kripalani`s Friday night run was far more impressive. Kripalani lost the title but, by all means, had a fantastic time at the felts, finishing runner-up in three flagship tournaments. Alongside the ₹5.69 Lakhs he won for finishing runner-up in the GPS Grand – The Elite, Kripalani placed runner-up in the TGIF for ₹1.58 Lakhs. He went on to take the same runner-up position in Adda52’s The Ballers as well for ₹4.94 Lakhs, all in all, earning ₹12.23 Lakhs in one night.
Championing the ₹13 Lakhs GTD TGIF was Young Gun Siddharth ‘schemer77’ Karia. The tournament logged in 878 entries, and Karia came out on top to win ₹2.52 Lakhs.
‘doubledown,’ one of the top stacks on Day 1A of the GPS The Millionaire, was also the last player standing in the ₹5 Lakhs GTD GPS #10 Monster Stack and won ₹1.10 Lakhs.
PokerBaazi
PokerBaazi’s ₹10 Lakhs GTD The Ridge returned for another run on the virtual felts. The tournament improved upon the 291 entries from last week by logging in 324 entries yesterday but still had to fill in a ₹28,000 shortfall. Young Gun Arsh ‘Button_Hai_Bro’ Grover made it across the finish line to win ₹2.21 Lakhs.
Grover is currently ranked #2 on the annual leaderboard and had only a day back entered the “₹5 CRORE CLUB” after winning The Summit on PokerBaazi for ₹5.10 Lakhs. Booking a flagship title for the second consecutive day, he raced past experienced regs like Dhaval ‘Rehab77’ Mudgal (3rd for ₹99,700), Young Gun Anmol ‘anzzzzz’ Mehta (4th for ₹73,800), and Sandy ‘Ziigmund’ Lamba (5th for ₹55,400) on the final table to eventually defeat Puneet ‘neo1’ Dua (runner-up for ₹1.55 Lakhs) heads-up!
The ₹3 Lakhs GTD Friday Superstack was championed by Siddharth ‘si151190’ Mehndiratta, who defeated Bharat ‘Thinkfloyd’ Vasan (runner-up for ₹56,310) heads-up for ₹80,400.
Adda52
The ₹1 Crore GTD Full House ran another starting flight yesterday. Day 1B attracted 226 entries, considerably more than the 192 entries that entered Day 1A. After more than four hours, only 24 players managed to bag stacks for Day 2 with Ayush ‘lazyman’ Garg (305,485) commanding the end-of-day chip lead. Rajesh ‘phanthom’ Singh (288,518), Manoj ‘thatsmymoney’ Pentakota (279,468), and Vinayak ‘bhai_on_mary_jane’ Bajaj (255,198) carried forward the next top stacks of the day.
Counting the 21 survivors from Day 1A, there are presently 45 players who have advanced to Day 2.
Running alongside the Full House was the ₹25 Lakhs GTD The Ballers. A turnout of 364 entries resulted in a very slight overlay. Siddhanth ‘Sidstack’ Kripalani had three heads-up encounters last night and all of them he lost. In The Ballers, Aniket ‘anteman’ Waghmare vanquished him to win ₹5.08 Lakhs, crossing the ₹1 Crore-mark in recorded earnings. Kripalani chopped the top prize with Waghmare to collect ₹4.94 Lakhs).
PokerStars India
With 336 entries, PokerStars India’s INCOOP- 17 Uppercut 6-Max suffered a ₹1.56 Lakhs shortfall on its ₹15 Lakhs prize pool guarantee. Young Gun Gaurav ‘3betPanda’ Sood was the last player standing and won ₹2.88 Lakhs.
Sood has been the winningest player in the country for almost four months now, and he has been equally consistent in recent weeks. Only last Friday, Sood took down PokerBaazi’s The Ridge.
On the Uppercut final table, he ran past Rishab ‘NoChan (3’ Malik (4th for ₹62,958), Kunal ‘iAlwaysHaveit’ Patni (5th for ₹73,386), and Vishnu ‘violator2018’ Khandelwal (6th for ₹52,223), before defeating Nishant ‘Balaark’ Pandey (runner-up for ₹1.27 Lakhs) heads-up to win the title.
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD INCOOP-19 8-Max was taken down by ‘Naru96’, who raced past 199 entries to win ₹1.23 Lakhs.
Pocket52
Headlining Pocket52’s Ship-It series on Friday was the ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD Pocket Kings. The ₹2,200 buy-in tourney garnered 313 entries, experiencing an overlay of ₹1.24 Lakhs. Making the most of the value on offer was ‘Mtmmmm’, who clinched the title for ₹1.53 Lakhs after defeating ‘Kingtry’ (2nd for ₹95,625) heads-up.
