While January 1 had witnessed a dip in traffic with most players recovering from their new year’s celebration, January 2 saw an uptick in numbers. In two days (January 5) is PokerStars India’s fifth edition of the Winter Series will kick off, and we hear the upcoming edition will be the biggest-ever, promising over ₹3 Crores in guaranteed prizes!
The Monday chartbuster this week was Snehil Aggarwal, who made a victory run in PokerBaazi’s 1000X#8 Monday Prime to collect a hefty ₹2.93 Lakhs in the first place.
Hot on Aggarwal’s trail was the well-known reg Ashit Sharma who won PokerBaazi’s The Big Show for an incredible third time, pocketing the top prize of ₹1.99 Lakhs up top. As Sharma collected ₹2.09 Lakhs on Monday, he crossed the ₹5 Crore milestone in recorded online winnings! Last November’s FTS Big Game third-place finisher Siddharth Kadel came in second for ₹1.32 Lakhs (won ₹1.73 Lakhs overall).
Last August’s FCS #84 High Saturday Celebration winner, Shagun Kanodia, took down Spartan Poker’s Monday headliner, The Rainmaker, for ₹2.01 Lakhs (his third-best score on the site), following a heads-up deal with the first-ever PokerGuru Challenge champion, Shailesh Kumar Patel (2nd for ₹1.93 Lakhs).
Adda52 user ‘Lsdouthere’ captured the Iron Man title for a site-best ₹2 Lakhs. Ajay Agrawal finished runner-up for ₹1.21 Lakhs.
Akansha Sehgal won her first title in over ten months in PokerBaazi’s 1000X#9, pocketing the top prize of ₹1.38 Lakhs (her second-best score on the site) – adding to ₹1.40 Lakhs in Monday winnings. Laxmi Narayan Meena finished runner-up for ₹1.07 Lakhs.
