If the Thursday MTT turnouts were any indication, all signs points towards a blockbuster weekend coming up ahead.
The top-two ranked players of 2020, Young Gun`s Gaurav Sood and Arsh Grover pulled off spectacular title victories last night. Sood championed Adda52’s Godfather – his first time winning this tourney – to come out as the day`s biggest winner with ₹6.60 Lakhs in total winnings.
Arsh Grover took down PokerBaazi’s Thursday 6-Max DeepStack and banked almost 1.65 Lakhs through the day to move up one place to #2 on the 2021 leaderboard standings.
Two-time Millionaire champion Manish Lakhotia shipped PokerBaazi’s The Summit, crossing the ₹6 Crore-mark in lifetime winnings.
PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat Arya, Bharath Kumar, Gadadhar Behera, and Anmolraj Singh Chawla banked the day`s other top scores.

The 8 PM tourney registered 537 runners to collect a healthy ₹18.79 Lakhs prize pool. Arjun ‘cardshark91’ Arora (Monster Stack ₹7 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.48 Lakhs), Bhavit ‘HarveyHomes’ Jain (UVS#24 ₹4.45 Lakhs GTD for ₹89,223) and Anav ‘Greyhound15’ Bhayana (UVS#23 ₹3.65 Lakhs GTD for ₹62,520) championed the other marquee tourneys on Thursday.

PokerStars India`s ₹10 Lakhs GTD Highroller started off six minutes late at 7:36 PM. With 181 entries, the event crushed its guarantee as a prize pool of ₹12.67 Lakhs was generated. Bharath ‘hzgod’ Kumar, who had entered the tourney through a ₹1,500 mega-satty ticket, walked away with the title and a career-best ₹2.46 Lakhs (₹1.10 Lakhs in prize money, ₹1.36 Lakhs in bounties) for the win. Harsh ‘kukuharsh’ Karanpuria chopped the top prize with Kumar to collect ₹1.90 Lakhs (₹1.10 Lakhs in prize money, ₹80,281 in bounties).
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Battle Royale had to fill in ₹75,000 in overlays after registering 170 entries. Anmolraj Singh ‘modi chai wala’ Chawla was the last player standing and won ₹1.16 Lakhs (₹58,078 in prize money, ₹58,379 in bounties). ‘rdx1111’ placed runner-up for ₹44,896 (₹43,334 in prize money, ₹1,563 in bounties).
The Battle Royale was one of two tourneys Chawla won yesterday. He also took down the ₹1.5 Lakh GTD Ultrasonic for ₹37,880 (₹15,305 in prize money, ₹22,575 in bounties), collecting ₹1.54 Lakhs for the double victory.
The 10:30 PM Bigstack Turbo logged in 97 entries – falling three entries short of its 100-player guarantee. Sreharsha ‘DonkeyCommitted’ Boneni won the tourney for ₹30,569 (₹11,522 in prize money, ₹19,047 in bounties) after eliminating ‘saral27’ in heads-up play. The latter took home a second-place payout of ₹12,356 (₹8,715 in prize money, ₹3,641 in bounties).

PokerBaazi
PokerBaazi has been consistently crushing the guarantee on its daily flagship, and last night again, the ₹15 Lakhs The Summit made it across the break-even mark and then some. A starting field of 230 entries in the tourney helped collect a guarantee-smashing ₹17.25 Lakhs. Two-time Millionaire champion Manish ‘thekid’ Lakhotia stormed past the competition to take the event down for ₹4.05 Lakhs, with Myron ‘priyankAAchoprAA’ Chopra placing runner-up for ₹2.84 Lakhs.
The Summit score got Manish Lakhotia past the ₹6 Crore-mark in tracked online winnings, earning him the well-deserved Super Achiever tag!
Young Gun Arsh ‘BigggTymeR’ Grover was another trailblazer on the site as he toppled 163 entries in the ₹4 Lakhs GTD Thursday 6-Max DeepStack to win ₹1.01 Lakhs. Faiz ‘AilaGaya’ Alam conceded to a runner-up finish worth ₹71,027.
The #2 ranked player of 2020, Grover also finished eighth in Spartan Poker’s Trending Thursday for ₹45,860. With ₹66.48 Lakhs in recorded earnings this year already, he has climbed up one spot to #2 in the annual rankings!

Adda52`s ₹5,500 entry buy-in Godfather attracted 484 entries, overlaying ₹80,000 on its ₹25 Lakhs prize pool guarantee. PokerStars India’s Night on Stars champion from Wednesday, Young Gun Gaurav Sood, extending his winning form to a second consecutive day, came out on top to win ₹6.12 Lakhs. ‘DEEZLI’ placed runner-up for ₹3.62 Lakhs.
The undisputed #1 ranked player of 2020, Sood, has an enviable poker resume, but surprisingly, this was his first time winning the Godfather. The dentist-turned-poker pro also placed 10th in PokerStars India’s Highroller for ₹13,520 and 12th in Spartan Poker’s Trending Thursday for ₹27,817, earning over ₹6.60 Lakhs last night. His lifetime tally now stands at an astronomical ₹7.22 Crores.
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Monster Turbo had 215 players in the fray, resulting in a marginal ₹16,250 in overlays. It took Masroor ‘jason911’ Ansari under five hours of play to win the title and the ₹1.36 Lakhs cash prize that came with it. ‘Cashton’ finished runner-up for ₹80,000.
