Wednesday had a lot of value for MTT players as most of the flagship tourneys logged in significant overlays.Similar to Tuesday, PokerGuru Ambassadors featured prominently on top, winning an impressive three titles. Here’s the complete recap.
Spartan Poker
Lighting up the virtual felts was Spartan Poker’s ₹30 Lakhs GTD Destiny. The ₹5,500 buy-in event logged in 623 entries, collecting ₹31.15 Lakhs in the prize pool. Racing past the reg-infested field was Young Gun Gaurav ‘mozzie17’ Sood, who walked away with ₹8.10 Lakhs. The runner-up and former Millionaire champion Anujkumar ‘aatmaan108’ Kodam earned ₹4.94 Lakhs.
With this win, Sood has become the first player to book a seat in the Destiny 16.0 SnG Finale. He FT-ed two other events yesterday, namely, PokerBaazi’s PPL#35 PLO HighRoller (6th for ₹1.42 Lakhs) and Adda52’s AOPS Wheel (7th for ₹50,000), raking in a seven-figure payday worth ₹10.02 Lakhs. This young poker prodigy has been dominating the annual leaderboard for over 13 weeks and finally crossed the benchmark ₹5 Crores barrier in recorded winnings last night. His yearly earnings have reached ₹2.88 Crores!
Day 1B of the ₹10 Lakhs GTD UVS Velocity brought in 358 entries, and 33 hopefuls made it across to Day 2 after four hours of play. Leading them to Day 2 will be ‘CRED’ with a stack of 149,572. The player was followed by Sanish ‘Sanish21’ Chhabra (126,852) and Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall (123,471).
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD UVS#12 DeepStack Turbo was championed by Sanish ‘Sanish21’ Chhabra, who won ₹87,700 following a three-way deal with Rishi ‘BollywoodNight’ Gupta (runner-up for ₹81,957) and ‘vismay147’ (3rd for ₹81,360). The event generated a profitable ₹5.82 Lakhs prize pool on the back of 388 entries.
Dhinesh ‘kendralust’ Kumar was among the other featured winners of the day. He FT-ed two tourneys, the more prominent of the two saw him shipping the ₹4 Lakhs GTD Mega Freeze for ₹1 Lakh. He posted a second FT score in PokerStars India’s Night on Stars, placing third for ₹84,320.
PokerBaazi
Day 6 of the PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) had an abundance of MTT action on offer with two ₹30 Lakhs GTD gracing the Wednesday schedule. The more expensive of the two was the PPL#35 PLO HighRoller. Sporting a ₹11,000 buy-in, the event pulled in 245 entries, falling ₹3.05 Lakhs short of the guarantee. Outlasting the reg-laden field was none other than Gautam ‘M8a7’ Rohilla. The Gurgaon-based Rohilla had won two PPL title`s on Tuesday, and he extended that to a third title last night in the PPL#35 PLO HighRoller that fetched him a career-best ₹7.06 Lakhs. With this title under his belt, Rohilla now boasts five PPL titles, improving his recorded online tally to ₹75 Lakhs.‘karanmangla’ finished runner-up for ₹4.95 Lakhs.
The other ₹30 Lakhs GTD tourney was the site`s Wednesday flagship PPL#36 Pride. With a turnout of 563 entries, the tourney registered a shortfall of ₹1.85 Lakhs. Traversing the field was PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘OMG_spew’ Munot, who defeated Surbhit ‘grovahova’ Grover (runner-up for ₹3.98 Lakhs) heads-up to win ₹5.67 Lakhs. Munot posted a second FT finish last night, finishing 4th in Adda52’s AOPS Monster Stack for ₹1.33 Lakhs taking his day`s tally to a little over ₹7 Lakhs. His lifetime record has touched ₹3.46 Crores.
Yash ‘paranoid’ Dutt was another winner at the PPL as he decimated a field of 287 entries in the ₹5 Lakhs GTD PPL#34 SuperStack to win ₹1.10 Lakhs. Suresh ‘oil_trader’ Kolli finished runner-up for ₹77,500.

The site`s ₹2.5 Crores GTD AOPS Main Event ran its second starting flight last night. Day 1B got almost the same response as the first flight, with 160 entries joining the action to add to the 161 entries from Day 1A. Only 20 runners made it through the day with Vishal ‘amarkhatri999’ Tulsyan (255,311) bagging the end-of-day chip lead. Spartan Poker`s Destiny champion Gaurav ‘gauravarod’ Sood (208,282) and Vidur ‘bullgod89’ Singhal (179,960) carried forward the next top stacks.
The primetime tournament on the Day 7 schedule of the AOPS was the ₹20 Lakhs GTD AOPS Wheel. The ₹2,750 buy-in tourney clocked in 755 entries to register an overlay of₹1.13 Lakhs. PokerGuru Ambassador Devvrat ‘glitch_d’ Arya, who had won the AOPS Cowboys on Tuesday, extended his winning form to a second consecutive day as he championed the AOPS Wheel to win a career-best ₹5 Lakhs. He outlasted ‘mannu425’ (runner-up for ₹2.69 Lakhs) in the heads-up, to clinch the title. Arya has accumulated over ₹1.38 Crores in earnings this year with his lifetime tally reflecting ₹2.96 Crores in winnings.
The ₹15 Lakhs GTD AOPS Monster Stack registered 226 entries to collect a profitable ₹15.48 Lakhs prize pool. Well-known reg Pranay ‘setmeup’ Chawla took down the tourney to win ₹3.03 Lakhs after striking a three-way deal with PokerGuru Ambassador Ratul ‘riverking021’ Steves (runner-up for ₹2.89 Lakhs) and ‘distroyer’ (3rd for ₹2.66 Lakhs).

PokerStars India’s Wednesday flagship, ₹8 Lakhs GTD Night on Stars, had to fill in a ₹1.95 Lakhs shortfall on account of its below-par turnout of 242 entries. After almost eight hours of play, the mystery user ‘theoldestkid’, was the only player standing. They won ₹1.54 Lakhs in top prize after defeating MTT pro Rajat ‘sharabikebabi’ Sharma (runner-up for ₹1.14 Lakhs) for the title. Sharma also placed 9th in Adda52’s AOPS MonsterStack for ₹30,962, collecting over ₹1.40 Lakhs on Wednesday.
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Big Bubble Rush played out amid 173 runners, to post an overlay of ₹67,500. Vaibhav ‘vaibsss’ Bhatia championed the tourney to win ₹1.04 Lakhs (₹45,901 in prize money and ₹57,617 in bounties), following a heads-up deal with Harsh ‘kakori kabab’ Dembla, who won ₹69,745 (₹48,846 in prize money and ₹20,899 in bounties). This happens to be Bhatia’s fourth-biggest score on the site, pushing his lifetime earnings to₹38.79 Lakhs.

The second starting flight of the ₹2.5 Crores GTD AOPS Main Event registered 160 sign-ups. Taking the 161 entries from Day 1A into account, the field size has reached 321 entries, with seven starting flights still to go. This is a tourney that has always yielded massive overlays, but this time with the prize pool guarantee reduced by ₹50 Lakhs, we could hit the mark.
Only 20 players made it across to Day 2. Topping them all was Vishal ‘amarkhatri999’ Tulsyan, who will return to play Day 2 on Sunday with a stack of 255,311. Young Gun Gaurav ‘gauravarod’ Sood (208,282) and MTT reg Vidur ‘bullgod89’ Singhal (179,960) rounded out the top three stacks on Day 1B.
The Day 1A chip leader ‘jimmyadams’ (450,253) is still the overall leader by a significant margin.

A total of 623 hopefuls signed up, generating a ₹31.15 Lakhs prize pool.
Piercing his way through the reg-laden field was none other than the #1 ranked player this year, Young Gun Gaurav ‘mozzie17’ Sood. He added an impressive ₹8.09 Lakhs to his bankroll and became the first player to book a seat on the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Destiny 16.0 SNG Finale.
Sood has been the biggest news on the virtual felts this year. He has dominated the yearly online rankings for much of the last three months and has further pulled ahead on the charts after his blistering run this week.
On August 9, Sood finished fourth in GPS #35 The Millionaire for ₹6.17 Lakhs. Yesterday, in addition to taking down the Destiny, Sood finished sixth in the PokerBaazi’s PPL #35 PLO High Roller for ₹1.41 Lakhs and placed 7th in Adda52’s AOPS Wheel for ₹50,000. While he has raked in over ₹16 Lakhs from these four finishes alone, Sood’s week`s tally has crossed ₹18 Lakhs!

The 2019 WPT India Main Event champion has had a dry spell lately. His last title win came back in May when he had shipped Spartan Poker’s The Elite for ₹6.88 Lakhs. This was a much-needed win for the seasoned pro, whose online scorecard currently reflects ₹3.46 Crores in winnings.
Neel ‘Worm33’ Joshi finished third for ₹2.56 Lakhs, improving his domestic online record to ₹2.82 Crores.
Joshi has displayed fabulous form these past few months. He grabbed the spotlight in April after finishing runner-up in India’s biggest online tournament to date, PokerBaazi’s ₹5 Crores GTD End Boss, for ₹65.01 Lakhs. The action is picking up in Spartan Poker’s ₹10 Lakhs GTD UVS Velocity that played out its second starting flight yesterday. Surpassing the 296-player field that had come in on Day 1A, Day 1B drew 358 entries.
By the time the chips were bagged up, only 33 remained standing. Counting the 25 survivors from Day 1A, 58 players have cemented a berth for Day 2.
Leading the end of day charge was ‘CRED’ (149,572), with Sanish ‘Sanish21’ Chhabra (126,852) and Goonjan ‘gmtesting’ Mall (123,471) rounding out the top three stacks on Day 1B.
