Alongside the usual Friday flagships, Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire and Adda52’s Nano Poker Series Main Event got the pulses racing, setting the stage for a blockbuster weekend!

Hot on the heels of a hugely successful The Millionaire Series comes another edition of Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire. The ₹1 Crore GTD tourney sports an entry buy-in of ₹5,500 and allows entry via five starting flights before playing down to a winner on Sunday. Day 1A brought in 382 entries, and only 57 of them carried forward a stack for Day 2. Deepak ‘chimpoo’ Bothra (202,836) bagged the end of day chip lead, with ‘NewMagician’ (192,707) and Sagar ‘strangeplay’ Choudhury (181,450) rounding out the top three stacks of the day.

Offering the most massive prize pool guarantee among all the Friday flagships was the ₹11,000 entry buy-in The Elite. Three hundred contenders signed up for a slice of the prize pool that exactly matched the posted ₹30 Lakhs guarantee. Last week’s ₹50 Lakhs GTD Millionaire Series #14 champion, Mohit ‘baked_babua’ Savargaonkar, navigated his way to the top to win a whopping ₹6.35 Lakhs. Romit Advani proved to be one of the day’s big scorers as he also placed sixth in PokerBaazi’s The Weekly Highroller for ₹71,290, collecting ₹3.15 Lakhs for the day`s work.

The ₹10 Lakhs GTD TGIF drew 704 runners, collecting ₹10.56 Lakhs in prize money. Young Gun Anmol ‘Anzzzzz’ Mehta proved the last player standing and banked ₹2.04 Lakhs. Avinit ‘pushnpray17’ Bagri placed runner-up for ₹1.28 Lakhs.

PokerStars India’s Friday lineup was headlined by the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Uppercut MAGIC Edition. Compared to last week, the tourney registered a relatively better 231 entries, overlaying ₹76,000. The top 41 places finished ITM while also collecting TLB points towards the “Star of the Month” – December leaderboard race. It took almost seven hours of play before ‘Boss_Sharma’ climbed their way to the top to win ₹2.02 Lakhs (₹85,550 in prize money, ₹1.17 Lakhs in bounties). The champion struck a heads-up deal with ‘flipper595,’ who pocketed ₹1.05 Lakhs (₹85,550 in prize money, ₹19,688 in bounties).

Well-known pro Goonjan ‘gmtesting.ind’ Mall finished third in the Uppercut for ₹62,503 (₹53,128 in prize money, ₹10,375 in bounties). Additionally, Mall also made a top-10 finish in the Spartan Poker-hosted The Elite – placing ninth for ₹64,800.

The ₹2 Lakhs GTD The Classic registered a prize pool worth ₹2.23 Lakhs from a starting field of 149 entries. ‘beginner1258’ was the last player standing in the tourney and won ₹51,352 (₹22,614 in prize money, ₹27,738 in bounties).

Adda52’s ₹35 Lakhs GTD Nano Main Event ran its fifth starting flight, i.e., Day 1E yesterday. The flight garnered 251 entries, and only 33 of them made the cut for Day 2. Leading the group was Sanjay ‘smr1g10’ Mohan (359,709), with ‘abbbyy’ (334,884) and Karan ‘karannthakker’ Thakker (238,257) carrying forward the next top stacks.

Handing out the single biggest paycheque on the site last night was the ₹22.5 Lakhs GTD The Ballers. The event saw 313 entries dish out the ₹7,500 entry buy-in, translating into an overlay of ₹1.05 Lakhs. Starting out at 8 PM, the event took eight long hours to culminate with Srihari ‘zombieballs’ Bang, eventually shipping the tourney for ₹5.62 Lakhs. Bang bested Arunarusharma’ Sharma (runner-up for ₹3.40 Lakhs) and Siddarth ‘badtameez_donk’ Singhvi (3rd for ₹2.47 Lakhs) to win the tourney.

The 21-year-old Bang had bagged one of the top paydays last year at the IOPC Millionaire for a career-best ₹48.56 Lakhs. He had featured prominently at the #3 spot on the annual leaderboard was over two months before an almost three-month-long dry spell saw him slip down to #6. Nevertheless, he had been quietly accumulating six-figure scores all this time. On November 19, Bang placed fifth in the ₹1 Crore GTD FTS #8 Big Game for ₹5.92 Lakhs. His latest FT score dates back to December 6, when he finished eighth in the ₹2 Crore GTD The Millionaire Warm-up for ₹1.81 Lakhs. With over ₹3.14 Crores in recorded earnings in 2020, Bang has jumped up to #5 on the charts.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Running Hot logged in 270 entries, collecting a guarantee-smashing ₹5.40 Lakhs prize pool. The former WPT Online India Super Stack winner, Saahib saahib’ Bawa, championed the tourney to win ₹1.13 Lakhs following a heads-up deal with Akshay Iamyourdad01’ Kapoor (runner-up for ₹1.10 Lakhs). This is the second title win for Bawa in less than 10 days. On December 10, he had shipped the 5 Lakhs GTD Monster Turbo on the site for ₹1.24 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi`s Friday night marquee, ₹12 Lakhs GTD The Weekly Highroller, registered 133 entries to collect ₹13.30 Lakhs in the prize pool. Sailing past the competition was the former WPT Vietnam ME champion Dhaval ‘Rehab77’ Mudgal, who won ₹3.56 Lakhs.

The musician-turned player who is one of our earliest Young Guns has a smashing record of live and online feats. Last week he had come whiskers close to winning this same event but had to make do with a runner-up finish worth ₹2.66 Lakhs. Mudgal finally grabbed the top honors last night after knocking out several tough opponents on the FT, including his heads-up Pranav ‘pranavpoker’ Khandalkar’ (runner-up for ₹2.49 Lakhs) and PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja (3rd for ₹1.60 Lakhs).

His lifetime MTT tally across tracked domestic sites now stands at ₹3.38 Crores.

Romit ‘tilt83’ Advani was among the multiple FT scorers of the day. Along with a fourth-place finish in Spartan Poker’s Elite that fetched him ₹2.44 Lakhs, Advani finished sixth in The Weekly Highroller for ₹71,290.

The 9 PM Special ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD Friday 5PLO kicked off an hour after The Weekly Highroller amidst 91 entries. ‘Aladdin’ championed the tourney to win ₹42,230, with ‘somzprash’ placing runner-up for ₹29,570.

Starting out at 9:30 PM, the ₹11,000 entry buy-in tourney registered the exact 300 participants it needed to break-even on its posted guarantee.

The field whittled down to a heads-up finale between Mohit ‘baked_babua’ Savargaonkar and Rajat ‘GoldSpot’ Sharma. Eventually, Savargaonkar clinched the title, along with a winner’s paycheque of ₹6.35 Lakhs. The latter collected ₹4.27 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.

This is Savargaonkar’s second title victory on the site in the last eight days after the Millionaire Series #14 that he won on December 11 for a personal-best ₹10.02 Lakhs.
