Sunday is just a few hours away, and this one is special as it brings with it the auspicious Deepawali. Replicating the festivities of lights and firecrackers was another dazzling run of online tournaments across the major poker sites yesterday!

Building up the crescendo for the Spartan Super Series (SSS) – The Millionaire ₹1 Crore GTD – kicked off with the first of its three starting flights on Friday. Day 1A enjoyed an action-packed run with 446 entries (263 unique, 71 re-entries, and 112 rebuys) joining the action. End of the day, only 65 could find a bag for Day 2, and bagging the most massive stack of them all was none other than Sriharsha Fish2050Doddapaneni. Doddapaneni, who had only a few days ago won his first-ever WPT title in the ₹25K Big Bounty event at WPT India, has been on a heater ever since. His blistering performances on the virtual felts saw him taking down the Adda52 Maverick two days ago, followed by a runner-up in PokerBaazi’s 6-Max Wednesday SuperStack. Doddapaneni is back in the news, this time for bagging the top stack of 252,236 on Day 1A of The Millionaire. If that was not enough, he even logged in an incredible two runner-up finishes last night – in The Ballers ₹15 Lakhs GTD on Adda52 for ₹2.52 Lakhs and the Friday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD (5RE) on PokerBaazi for ₹61,005 respectively.

The other top stacks in The Millionaire belong to ‘propernit’ (217,379) and former WSOP champion Aditya ‘SuperUser’ Sushant (200,270) with many others like Vivek ‘Pokerbatman27’ Rughani (163,471), Rubin ‘kornkid’ Labroo (68,686), Kanishka ‘Wildflower’ Samant (36,571), Raghav ‘thatssosick’ Bansal (29,290), and PokerGuru Ambassadors Gokul ‘Super Kings’ Raj (112,336), Vivek ‘KasolHieghts’ Singh (53,659), Laksh Pal ‘LuckyBhai$’ Singh (49,566) and Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja (41,284) securing a berth for Day 2. There are two more flights to go with Day 1B scheduled to begin at 6 PM today and Day 1C starting at 4 PM on Sunday!

A host of other SSS tourneys ran the course on Friday. The biggest event to crown a champion was SSS#30 The Elite ₹25 Lakhs GTD that collected a guarantee-smashing prize pool of ₹31.10 Lakhs. Walking away with the top prize at the event was ‘Kingofking,’ who won ₹6.57 Lakhs. The two other SSS events crowned winners in ‘Optimus_NK’ (SSS #29 TGIF ₹12 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.92 Lakhs), and Siddhant ‘bullzeye’ Kapoor (SSS #28 Afternoon Hi-Fi ₹3 Lakhs GTD for ₹72,000).

The virtual felts may be riding high on the SSS excitement, but that didn’t slow down the action at PokerBaazi that belted out another smashing edition of its Fri-YAY ₹10 Lakhs GTD. The tournament was a resounding success with 308 entries (148 unique and 160 re-entries), making for a ₹12.32 Lakhs prize pool. And winning a major online title for the second day in a row was Haider ‘Haider’ Madraswala. After taking down the Thursday MonsterStack, Madraswala returned to PokerBaazi felts the next day and shipped the Fri-YAY – adding a hefty ₹2.20 Lakhs to his bankroll.

Moving over to Adda52 – India`s largest online poker site has insane cash action, but the tournament turnouts pale in comparison. The site has had a tough time meeting guarantees, and once again, the prime Friday tournament, The Ballers ₹15 Lakhs GTD, failed to meet its advertised guarantee. The shortfall was substantial at 1.71 Lakhs yesterday, and, in the end, Anish ‘anishpatra’ Patra defeated Sriharsha ‘Ivey2’ Doddapaneni heads-up to walk away with the title and top prize of ₹4.20 Lakhs. The unstoppable Doddapaneni collected ₹2.52 Lakhs for his runner-up finish. ‘chutny’ was the other big winner on the site, and championed the Hexagram for ₹72,500.

Meanwhile, on PokerStars India, the Uppercut Progressive KO ₹8 Lakhs GTD had an excellent run amidst 242 entries (117 unique and 125 re-entries) that generated a prize pool of ₹9.68 Lakhs. ‘Flipper108’ defeated PokerGuru Ambassador Vishal ‘Vishalb22’ Bajaj heads-up to snag the title along with ₹2.08 Lakhs in prize money. Bajaj took home ₹1.10 Lakhs for finishing runner-up.

The 9stacks’ daily tourney StackUp ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD is another tournament leaking money for the operator, and last night, the site had to fill in a ₹53,500 shortfall. ‘Jokermaniac’ eventually came out on top to win ₹67,500.

On Poker Dangal, 100- Max Event #19 ₹250K GTD crowned a winner in ‘Newshitintown’ who pocketed ₹57,500 for his efforts. The series closes out today, and part of the day’s schedule is Event #7 ₹150K that was slated to take place on October 22 but had to be rescheduled to 8 PM today owing to technical issues.
