With just days left for 2022 to culminate, it’s been a significant year for Indian poker. Despite no big-guaranteed MTT series playing out on the virtual felts, most Tuesday marquees surpassed their advertised guarantees. Getting the temperatures high as we enter 2023 will be PokerBaazi’s ₹5+ Crores GTD 1000X Series, which takes off on January 1.
Topping the Tuesday headlines was ‘Mr.BEAST’ aka Suraj N Yadav, who lapped up a whopping ₹4.66 Lakhs across two FT finishes. Yadav most prominently took down Spartan Poker’s Mega Stack for ₹2.94 Lakhs following a heads-up deal with Rajiv Srivastava (2nd for ₹2.40 Lakhs).
Suraj N Yadav also came within striking distance in PokerBaazi’s (7-Max) SPRINT, eventually placing runner-up for ₹1.44 Lakhs. Mystery player ‘Pratap42’ claimed their maiden title for ₹2.04 Lakhs.
The second big scorer of the day was the IOPC June 2022 The Crown and Super High Roller champion, Saurabh Rohila, who took down Adda52’s Mechanical Bull, winning ₹3.07 Lakhs up top (won ₹4.21 Lakhs overall).
Vishal Bajaj was another standout performer last night. He rounded out ₹4.10 Lakhs across two deep finishes, including shipping Spartan Poker’s day’s Tuesday High Roller (for the third time), adding ₹3.78 Lakhs to his bankroll, following a heads-up deal with Tarush Gupta (2nd for ₹3.42 Lakhs).
Former BSS Championship winner Suneeth Kalmady fired four bullets in PokerBaazi’s The Endeavour before clinching his second title of the month for ₹3.86 Lakhs. Rising Star Ritwik Khanna finished runner-up for ₹2.56 Lakhs (won ₹2.68 Lakhs overall).
The first-ever BTS Main Event champion Samyak Sethi finished fourth in Adda52’s Mechanical Bull (₹98,993) and shipped Spartan Poker’s The Race (₹81,956), making away with ₹1.81 Lakhs in Tuesday winnings.
Young Gun Anmol Mehta reeled in his first title in a month, taking down PokerBaazi’s DailyValue Boost for ₹1.44 Lakhs.
Last week’s Turbo Masters runner-up finisher on PokerStars India, ‘44706625’, did one better in the site’s Turbo Masters (8-Max) last night, collecting ₹1.04 Lakhs in first place.
