With the end of 2024 just around the corner, you’d expect online poker to hit a lull as players savor the holiday season with friends and family. But Friday night proved otherwise. There was a notable surge in activity across the top poker platforms—almost as if everyone was eager to squeeze in some final big wins before the year closes. PokerBaazi led the way, delivering a star-studded lineup that drew quite a crowd. Meanwhile, Natural8 India, Adda52, and Pocket52 also joined the party, each offering their own festive treats for anyone hoping to snag a coveted title or boost their bankroll.

Amid all this, Sushant Singh took center stage. Known for popping up with sporadic deep runs, he had been longing for a major title for more than a year. Last night, that wait finally ended. He left his mark on PokerBaazi’s The Quest, walking away with ₹4.40 Lakhs—his best performance to date—after striking a deal during heads-up play. And he wasn’t done yet. Just a short while later, he found himself at the final table of PokerBaazi’s WTF, claiming another ₹75,544 for fifth place. By the time the night was over, he had pocketed an impressive ₹5.15 Lakhs and firmly established himself as the day’s top earner.

Right behind him was Siddhant Singh, who locked up ₹4 Lakhs in The Quest after coming second. He had actually already warmed up for the night earlier on Pocket52, where he clinched the (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo for ₹95,341. Toss in two more cashes on other platforms, and he wrapped up the day with a grand total of ₹5.10 Lakhs.

‘harsh1327’ (anonymity requested)rose to the top in Pocket52’s Pocket Highroller, notching their first-ever victory on the platform and pocketing ₹3.22 Lakhs. The day got even better when they racked up another deep run, bringing their total to ₹3.38 Lakhs. Meanwhile, ‘ajay909’ put up a tough fight and walked away with a well-earned ₹2.25 Lakhs for finishing second.

Ankit Wadhawan lit up Adda52’s Ferris Wheel in spectacular fashion! The Chandigarh-based poker beast outmaneuvered a stacked final table to claim his second Adda52 flagship of 2024, pocketing ₹2.98 Lakhs after a heads-up deal. He even tacked on a smaller cash later, bringing his total for the day to an impressive ₹3.15 Lakhs. Close on his heels was Durga Deepak Botta, who booked ₹2.80 Lakhs in second place—his largest result this year and the second-best of his career.

Over at another PokerBaazi mainstay, Shashank Shekhar ended an eight-month run without a major finish by taking down WTF for ₹2.44 Lakhs. It’s his fourth-highest score on that platform this year. He didn’t stop there. With one more deep run pushed his total for the day to ₹2.94 Lakhs. Meanwhile, Myron Pereira—fresh off a triumph in WPT#57 Megastack—kept his form going with a runner-up finish in the WTF worth ₹1.61 Lakhs. A few more deep runs later, and he had stacked up nearly ₹2.02 Lakhs overall.

On Junglee Poker, ‘funsport35410872’ brought home the Friday Supernova title, locking in ₹1.65 Lakhs.

Sandeep Varma RS, still riding the momentum from his Maverick win on Adda52 last week, delivered another standout performance in PokerBaazi’s The Quest Lite. After navigating a formidable field, he walked away with ₹1.53 Lakhs through a four-way deal, proving that his recent victory was no fluke. One of his biggest challenges came from Mayur Sojitra, who ended up claiming the runner-up spot for ₹1.36 Lakhs. Not only was that Sojitra’s best showing of the year, it was also his second-biggest payday ever on PokerBaazi. The four-way deal included recent WPT#77 Ultra Deepstack finalist, Inzemaam Husain, whose third-place finish netted him a cool ₹1.21 Lakhs—his seventh-best score this year. Meanwhile, the ever-consistent ‘Necrom4nc3r’ locked down fourth place, adding ₹1.16 Lakhs to an already notable track record on PokerBaazi.

And that’s not all! Friday turned out to be a day of triumph for several others. Pranav Khandalkar, Sidhant Khanna, Sharad Haridasan (won 2 titles), Nabeel, and Mayank Maruka all found themselves in the winner’s circle on different platforms, making it clear that even as the year winds down, the drive to claim top honors remains stronger than ever.

Here are the Friday highlights!

The virtual felt was sizzling, and it wasn’t just the eggnog warming up the holiday season. Friday night was the perfect prelude to a weekend of poker pandemonium, and PokerBaazi’s ₹30 Lakhs GTD The Quest was the match that lit the fire. The usual suspects, seasoned pros and fresh-faced hopefuls alike, crowded the online tables, each with a glint of victory in their eyes and a heart full of hope for the holiday season.

The 8 PM headliner unfolded over eight intense hours. Fortunes were made and lost in this digital coliseum. Amidst the fierce competition, Sushant ‘Tryndamere’ Singh, a player with a history of intermittent success, experienced a career-defining moment. Entering twice, Singh navigated a dense field of 398 players (700 total entries). His performance culminated in securing his inaugural The Quest title, accompanied by a substantial ₹4.40 Lakhs prize after a strategic heads-up deal – his career-best score!

But this wasn’t just a win for the bankroll; it was a comeback story for the ages. Singh had been wandering the poker desert for nearly thirteen months since his last win in Monster Turbo back in last December. But fortune finally gave him a wink and a nod, handing him the glory he’d been grinding for.

Singh also made it to the final table in another PokerBaazi flagship, the WTF, pocketing ₹75,544 for his fifth-place finish. In total, he bagged a festive haul exceeding ₹5.15 Lakhs for the night, making him the biggest winner of the night.

Sushant Singh’s online stats (excluding Natural8 India, Junglee Poker and Pocket52): Lifetime Winnings: ₹1.51 Crores| Lifetime Profits: ₹10.26 Lakhs | Titles Won in 2024: #1

Sushant Singh wasn’t the only one making headlines and padding his pockets. Siddhant ‘aajnahiaana’ Singh, an up-and-coming poker stalwart, was on fire. This week alone, he had already bagged Monday’s Bullet title on Spartan Poker and three other final table finishes, including a hot run in this Thursday’s PokerBaazi Summit Lite.

Siddhant Singh

Last night, he was a hair’s breadth away from his first-ever The Quest title, settling for a sweet ₹4 Lakhs as the runner-up from the same deal. Even without that cherry on top, he wasn’t going home empty-handed. Just three hours earlier, he had already taken down Pocket52’s (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo, adding ₹95,341 to his impressive ledger. Sure, a double victory would’ve been nice. Still, over half a million rupees (over ₹5.10 Lakhs to be exact) as his take for the night in Friday’s winnings was nothing to scoff at, especially with two other cashes adding to the holiday cheer.

> 2nd in PokerBaazi’s The Quest for ₹4,00,198

> 1st in Pocket52’s (7-Max) Deepstack Turbo for ₹95,341

Friday night on PokerBaazi was more electrifying than a string of Christmas lights, with the spotlight shining bright on Sandeep ‘effuno’ Varma RS (opted out of our tracking), a name that echoes through the Indian poker scene like a festive carol! Fresh off a victory in Adda52’s Maverick last week and a hot final table appearance in the SundayHead Hunter, Varma was back to deck the halls with a win in the ₹12.50 Lakhs GTD The Quest Lite.

The 7:30 PM flagship event was packed tighter than Santa’s gift bag, drawing 546 entries (195 unique) and creating a festive battlefield where some of India’s top poker talents went head-to-head. For nearly six hours, the virtual felt was a flurry of action – think strategic bluffs that would make even the Grinch grin, bold calls that would make Rudolph’s nose glow and dramatic shifts in fortune that were more unpredictable than a White Elephant gift exchange! Varma, known for his calculated aggression, fired three bullets in this event, and it paid off like a stocking full of goodies! He bagged the top prize, a whopping ₹1.53 Lakhs, after a four-way deal.

But The Quest Lite wasn’t just about Varma’s holiday magic. Chasing his third online title of 2024, Sojitra ultimately landed in the runner-up spot, using a two-entry strategy to scoop up ₹1.36 Lakhs from the deal. You could practically feel the electricity in the virtual air – Friday was shaping up to be a massive night for Shaurya ‘shaur23’ Modi, and it wasn’t just the holiday spirit. Fueled by that near-miss, like a poker player on a mission, he entered PokerBaazi’s ₹10 Lakhs GTD Daily Last Chance last night with a fire in his belly and ice in his veins.

The Chandigarh-based poker beast unwrapped another gift for himself – his second Adda52 flagship win of 2024! He outplayed a field packed tighter than Santa’s sleigh, proving he’s got the skills to pay the holiday bills. It was his fifteenth title of the year, and he stuffed his stocking with ₹2.98 Lakhs thanks to a heads-up deal that was sweeter than a candy cane. He also gifted himself a 33rd-place finish in PokerBaazi’s The Quest for ₹17,500, bringing his total haul for the day to over ₹3.15 Lakhs.

When the smoke cleared, it was Siddhant ‘AajNahiAana’ Singh who stood victorious, claiming his first-ever title on the platform in a blaze of glory.

Siddhanth Singh

Singh was on an absolute heater, hotter than a chestnut roasting on an open fire. This week alone, he had already conquered Monday’s Bullet title on Spartan Poker and racked up three other final table finishes, including a deep run in Thursday’s PokerBaazi Summit Lite.

Entering the fray twice, he outlasted a field of 233 entries (141 unique) in a six-hour-and-18-minute battle that was more thrilling than a sleigh ride through fresh snow. He seized the 7 PM marquee title and a handsome 95,341 in prize money.

However, his most significant score of the night arrived three hours later at 4:11 AM. On the verge of clinching a second title that night, like a kid waiting for Santa, he ultimately finished as the runner-up, securing 4 Lakhs from a heads-up deal. He made his presence known in two more events, raking in a total of over half a million rupees (over 5.10 Lakhs, to be precise), making him the second biggest winner of the day.
