As always, the MTT action continues to gather steam as we approach the weekend. Thursday laid out a firecracker lineup of tournaments with almost all the day`s flagships crushing their listed guarantees.
Tarush Gupta topped the Thursday charts after taking down the Godfather for ₹5.50 Lakhs.
The other flagship champions were an eclectic mix of new names and old-timers, with Mayank Makhija, Sriharsha Doddapaneni, Pranay Chawla, Anurag Srivastava, Shaurya Modi, Ankit Saurabh, Priyank Kothari, Abhishek Chhajer, Tanmay Benara, Tapan Mansotra, and Siddharth Gangwar winning the Thursday marquees.

Spartan Poker
Spartan Poker’s ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire is back for its third edition of April, and the five-flight event shifted to a Thursday start from the usual Friday this week. Day 1A of the ₹5,500 entry buy-in event logged in 322 participants, and only 45 survived the day`s onslaught. ‘slyrock’ (2,97,743), ‘magicmountain’ (2,41,799), and poker pro Shravan ‘D.Trump04’ Chhabria (2,22,192) bagged the top stacks on Day 1A.
The site’s Thursday flagship, the ₹16 Lakhs GTD Trending Thursday, registered 553 entries, rounding up a bumper prize pool worth ₹19.35 Lakhs, over 20% more than its advertised guarantee. It took close to eight hours of play for Mayank ‘$Magician$’ Makhija to take down the event for a career-best ₹3.77 Lakhs. His heads-up opponent was the Sunday Superstack champion Niharika ‘nutcracker303’ Bindra (runner-up for ₹2.40 Lakhs).
The second Thursday marquee, the ₹7 Lakhs GTD Monster Stack, saw Shaurya ‘PrivateLimited’ Modi walking away with the title and a personal-best ₹1.27 Lakhs. He struck a heads-up deal with Parth ‘ucallucry’ Budhraja (runner-up for ₹1.21 Lakhs).
Day 4 of UVS April edition was all about deep stack tourneys. There were six UVS events on the Thursday schedule, and the day`s featured tourney, the ₹4.65 Lakhs GTD UVS #24 Monster Stack, was championed by Priyank ‘Satoshi_Nakamoto’ Kothari for ₹60,913. This happens to be Kothari’s second time winning a UVS title, bringing him within touching distance to the ₹3 Crore mark in lifetime earnings (₹2.99 Crores). Kothari struck a four-deal on the FT with ‘Pokerispain’ (runner-up for ₹58,685), Vinay ‘BeepBeepImaJeep’ Rajpal (3rd for ₹55,934), and ‘VM.Varga’ (4th for ₹52,683).
The Millionaire D’Lite winner Ankit ‘starnaruto’ Saurabh was another player who bagged a UVS title on Thursday. He overcame a 706-entry field in the ₹3.75 Lakhs GTD UVS #23 Golden Vault to collect ₹72,563. Rajesh ‘neweraguy’ Mahapatra placed runner-up for ₹45,750. Ankit Saurabh`s breakout run has fetched him ₹54.95 Lakhs in lifetime winnings (₹33.38 Lakhs in net profits).
PokerStars India
PokerStars India delivered high-octane Highroller action with its ₹10 Lakhs GTD Highroller making a rerun last night. The ₹7,700 entry buy-in tourney logged in 155 entrants, collecting a guarantee-crushing ₹10.85 Lakhs prize pool. Coming out on top was none other than the three-time Sunday Special – Progressive KO champion Pranay ‘aankhdikhatahai’ Chawla, who made an even chop with his heads-up opponent Devang ‘Infic11’ Mehta, with both players banking ₹2.02 Lakhs each. Chawla was awarded the title, boosting his lifetime tally to ₹3.57 Crores (₹91.62 Lakhs in net profits).
The ₹2 Lakhs GTD Classic was taken down by Tapan ‘tweedu_taps’ Mansotra, who outlasted 99 entries to win ₹41,389. Mansotra now has ₹22.82 Lakhs in lifetime winnings (₹3.44 Lakhs in net profits). However, Akshay ‘LalaSaab’ Kapoor got the lion`s share of the prize money worth ₹43,151, courtesy of a heads-up deal.
An elated Kapoor later posted the following message on Facebook, “Have won few tournies live and online, but this one feels extra special, entered this FT with only 2BB.”
‘ANCIENT MARINER’ (Won Ultrasonic ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹34,273) and PokerStars India`s “Star of the Month” – December Siddharth ‘gangnam gangi’ Gangwar (Won Bigstack Turbo ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹23,896) took down the other Thursday night marques on the site.
PokerBaazi
PokerBaazi’s 8 PM flagship, the ₹15 Lakhs GTD The Summit, recorded 240 entries, posting a hefty ₹18 Lakhs prize pool. The event came down to a heads-up showdown between the IOPC January 2021 Super High Roller & High Roller winner Sriharsha ‘Ivey2’ Doddapaneni and IOPC Mega Stack winner Vinayak ‘salmanbhai’ Bajaj. The more experienced Doddapaneni eventually prevailed, adding ₹4.24 Lakhs to his winnings. Bajaj collected ₹2.97 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.
Doddapaneni is presently the second-most profitable player of the year and sits on ₹96.62 Lakhs in recorded winnings (2021) with an impressive ₹66.28 Lakhs in net profits.
Abhishek ‘abhiom’ Chhajer (Won Holdem BOOST ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹54,120), ‘rishubhparmar’ (Won Turbo ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹52,660), and ‘aikansh98’ (Won PLO Boost Monster ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹30,820) took down the other late-night marquees on PokerBaazi.

Adda52`s ₹25 Lakhs GTD Godfather roped in 493 runners, overlaying ₹35,000. Tarush ‘tarush123’ Gupta scored a thumping victory, scoring a career-best ₹5.50 Lakhs after striking a heads-up deal with Sahil ‘you3bi4b’ Nair (runner-up for ₹4.25 Lakhs). Gupta boosted his online tally to ₹39.83 Lakhs (₹9.13 Lakhs in profits) after last night`s win.
The cornerstone of the ₹90 Lakhs GTD Nano Poker Series (NPS), the ₹25 lakhs GTD Nano Main Event, played out the first of five starting flights on Thursday. Day 1A recorded 283 entries, and after the stipulated 29 eight-minute levels of play, 36 survivors made the cut for Day 2. ‘yatin47’ (269,968), Aniket ‘WhiteRabbit’ Sharma (266,890), and Ranveer ‘seven2222’ Singh Sandhu (247,040) rounded out the top three names on the survivor`s list.
The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Monster Turbo brought in 221 runners, falling a negligible ₹2,750 short of its listed guarantee. The former IOPC – The Millionaire champion Anurag ‘NormanBates’ Srivastava was the last player standing and won ₹1.36 Lakhs, with Sanjay ‘Floppednuts’ Kumar placing runner-up for ₹80,000.
Anurag Srivastava has crossed ₹5.07 Crores in recorded MTT winnings after the win (₹1.84 Crores in net profits).
