It was a thundering Thursday on the virtual felts, and we saw some of the biggest names of the domestic community winning the flagship tournaments across the major platforms!

While there was a plethora of stellar performances, one that stood out was that of Deepak Bothra, who clinched titles in two back-to-back events on two different platforms. His biggest score of the night came in Spartan Poker’s Thursday signature event – Ultron ₹20 Lakhs GTD – that pulled in 580 entries (251 unique, 120 re-entries and 209 re-buys), accumulating a prize pool of ₹23.20 Lakhs. Bothra, under the moniker ‘chimpoo’ rose to the top of the field and captured the top prize of ₹4.50 Lakhs after besting Vinay ‘Netflixxed’ Bk (runner-up for ₹2.85 Lakhs) in the heads-up contest.

Bothra followed up this win with another spectacular run in Adda52’s AOPS PLO High Roller 10 Lakhs GTD. Triumphing over a 135-strong entry field (81 unique and 54 re-entries), Bothra, aka ‘bothras’, locked horns with PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik ‘Pegasus1505’ Ved in the heads-up finale and took home a winner’s payday of ₹2.82 Lakhs. Ved pocketed ₹2.66 Lakhs for his runner-up finish. Bothra also scored in Adda52’s AOPS Godfather (28th for ₹18,260), taking his cumulative winnings for the day to ₹7.50 Lakhs.

However, the biggest events on the Adda52 Online Poker Series (AOPS) Thursday roster were the AOPS Godfather ₹25 Lakhs GTD and the AOPS Freeze Finale ₹25 Lakhs GTD. The Godfather registered 664 entries (328 unique and 336 re-entries), collecting an impressive prize pool of ₹33.20 Lakhs. Young Gun Ujjwal ‘fourteenk’ Narwal championed the event and netted a colossal ₹7.63 Lakhs in the process.

The AOPS Freeze Finale ₹25 Lakhs GTD, on the other hand, could only muster 398 entries across four starting flights, resulting in a massive overlay of ₹5.10 Lakhs. Taking advantage of the value on offer, Sanket ‘blackcod’ Arora bested Madhab ‘madhabpal2015’ Pal (runner-up for ₹2.50 Lakhs) heads-up and walked away with a ₹4 Lakhs payday.

PokerBaazi’s The Summit ₹15 Lakhs GTD ran its usual course last night, drawing in 254 runners (135 unique and 119 re-entries) that helped generate a prize pool of ₹19.05 Lakhs. Seasoned pro Nishant ‘nishant177’ Sharma took down the event for ₹4.48 Lakhs, while Young Gun Arsh ‘Button_Hain_Bro’ Grover came in second for ₹3.14 Lakhs.

The Highroller ₹15 Lakhs GTD on PokerStars India was another flagship event that failed to avoid the overlay curse. Logging in 203 entries (116 unique and 86 re-entries), the tournament suffered a ₹79,000 shortfall in meeting its advertised guarantee. Kolkata-born poker pro Raghav ‘OMGZ_ITS_RB’ Bansal came out on top to win ₹2.94 Lakhs.

9stacks’ Thunder @8 PM ₹5 Lakhs GTD saw the latest Millionaire Main Event champion Anurag ‘AnuragSrivastava’ Srivastava topping a field of 123 participants (101 unique and 22 re-buys) to pocket the first-place prize worth ₹1.41 Lakhs.
