Friday marked Day 2 of the Spartan Super Series (SSS), and if the turnouts from last night were any indication, this extended Easter weekend is starting to look like another record-smashing one!
Once again, it was Spartan Poker`s The Elite that stole the thunder with the tourney blowing the lid off its massive ₹50 Lakhs GTD with 622 entrants (281 unique players, 123 re-entries and 218 re-buys) generating a gigantic ₹62.20 Lakhs prize pool! Taking home the most significant share of the prize money was ‘lol this guy‘ who ran past big names like Saurabh ‘Darksider’ Rohila (runner-up for ₹7.65 Lakhs) and PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved (3rd for ₹5.52 Lakhs) to win a seven-figure payout worth ₹12.06 Lakhs. This is another massive score for the mystery player ‘lol this guy,’ who had in February placed runner-up in IOPC #79 Super HighRoller ₹1 Crore GTD for a career-best ₹23.90 Lakhs (following a three-way chop)!
The other Friday major on Spartan Poker, TGIF ₹15 Lakhs GTD, gathered a player pool of 1,443 entries (including 618 unique hopefuls, 230 re-entries, and 595 re-buys) who ponied up the ₹1,650 buy-in, obliterating the guarantee to smithereens. The tourney collected ₹21.64 Lakhs in the prize pool and paid out 127 places. Taking up the winner’s mantle was ‘Buuuoooyyy,’ who went home richer by ₹4.04 Lakhs after defeating ‘CrownUpJr‘ (runner-up for ₹2.45 Lakhs) heads-up!
Moving over to PokerBaazi’s roster of Friday MTTs, the most prominent champion at the site was Young Gun Siddharth ‘schemer’ Karia, who took down the Fri-Yay ₹6 Lakhs GTD for a winner payday worth ₹1.90 Lakhs. Sanchit ‘sanchit1990’ Adukia (2nd for ₹1.33 Lakhs) and Kunal ‘VasooliChacha’ Patni (3rd for ₹86,141) were the other podium finishes.
The Friday flagship on Adda52, the Hold’em High Roller, pulled in 234 runners (139 unique entries and 95 re-entries), collecting a monstrous ₹46.80 Lakhs prize pool. Topping them all was online crusher Ujjwal ‘fourteenk’ Narwal, who claimed the title and the fat ₹12.84 Lakhs paycheque that came with it. The final table was a stacked affair with top regs like Alok ‘APB1989’ Birewar (runner-up for ₹7.48 Lakhs), Chirag ‘cs56’ Sodha (3rd for ₹5.61 Lakhs), PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja (4th for ₹4.02 Lakhs) and Abhishek ‘pomfret1989’ Goindi (5th for ₹2.80 Lakhs) in the reckoning. For Ahuja, his fourth-place finish in this tourney has taken his weekly cashes tally to over ₹20 Lakhs!
Friday also marked the start of the first two starting flights of the AOPS Main Event ₹2 Crores GTD. Day 1A of this flagship tourney attracted a packed field of 316 runners (229 unique entries and 87 re-entries), and only 39 players qualified for Day 2. Bagging the most massive stack of them all was ‘Revon,’ an unknown player who had sattied his way into the tourney. Revon topped the list of survivors with a stack of 269,321 chips. On his tail were other two big stacks, Anurag ‘NormanBates’ Srivastava (235,373) and Pranjal ‘lilmessipranjal’ Gandhi (201,919).
