Fridays are always choc-a-bloc with action, and yesterday was no different. The most recent Millionaire Champion Aditya Sushant once again features among the top scorers of the day alongside the latest Destiny winner Uttam Kumar Sinha.
Here is a rundown of all that went down across the major online platforms on Friday.
Spartan Poker
Spartan Poker’s Friday night flagship, The Elite ₹45 Lakhs GTD, saw the ₹11,000 buy-in tournament logging in 469 runners (212 unique, 118 re-entries and 139 rebuys), collecting a robust ₹46.90 Lakhs prize pool. A fiery final table battle saw the likes of Sahil ‘$lim$hady19’ Chuttani (3rd for ₹4.35 Lakhs), Siddharth ‘Schrodinger’s Cat’ Bebarta (6th for ₹2.11 Lakhs), Sanket ‘GHOSTF@CE’ Arora (8th for ₹1.14 Lakhs), and PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘KasolHieghts’ Singh (93,800) in battle. As all of them fell out before the heads-up play, and the final showdown took place between Aditya ‘SuperuSer’ Sushant and Ayan ‘interlalia_1’ Ray. It was India`s first WSOP bracelet winner who beat out Ray to win the ₹9.14 Lakhs first-place prize! Ray, in the meantime, had to settle for a runner-up finish worth ₹5.80 Lakhs.
This is the second flagship title that Sushant has won on Spartan Poker this week. Last Sunday, he outran a 1,076-player field to take down the SSS Millionaire title for ₹20.32 Lakhs – his best score on the site to date.
The other prominent winner on Spartan Poker was site regular Bhanu ‘spectre’ Prakash, who decimated a field of 985 entries (462 unique, 139 re-entries and 384 rebuys) including his final opponent Vivek ‘lIIIlIIIlIIllI’ Bajaj (2nd for ₹1.76 Lakhs) to capture the TGIF ₹12 Lakhs GTD title for ₹2.82 Lakhs. The ₹14.77 Lakhs prize pool was distributed among 87 places.
While Singh was the only PokerGuru Ambassador to final table The Elite, fellow stablemate, Rohit ‘ShippingYard’ Mishra, made a deep run in the Monster Stack ₹5 Lakhs GTD, finishing third for ₹63,765. The tourney was eventually won by ‘ravinder9’ for ₹1.12 Lakhs.
PokerBaazi
There were five winners crowned on Day 3 of the PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series (PMVS). The featured tournament of the day was the PMVS The Ridge ₹10 Lakhs GTD, where 418 runners (224 unique and 194 re-entries) signed up collecting a generous ₹12.54 Lakhs prize pool. Standing out from the crowd was Aman ‘KarmaPoker’ Parakh, who knocked out a long string of seasoned regs including PokerGuru Ambassador Ashutosh ‘senojwod’ Balodhi (3rd for ₹1.14 Lakhs), Shardul ‘duuurrrr’ Parthasarathi (4th for ₹84,020), Sahil ‘ImHighIshove’ Mahboobani (5th for ₹63,080), Kiran ‘pocketjs’ YK (7th for ₹42,130) and Kanchan ‘Kanchansharma’ Sharma (9th for ₹25,210) before taking on Muthukumar ‘hero1965’ Rajagopalan (runner- up for ₹1.77 Lakhs) heads-up. With Rajagopalan dispatched, Parakh claimed the top honors and a ₹2.52 Lakhs payday.
It’s worth mentioning that Parakh has been one of the most consistent winners this week and proudly sits on top of the weekly TLB leaderboard. Much of that consistency was at work last night as alongside The Ridge; he also took down the PMVS ₹2 Lakhs GTD title for ₹46,555. Parakh also pulled in a final table score in Spartan Poker’s Monster Stack, where he finished eighth for ₹16,481.
Over at the PMVS ₹6 Lakhs GTD, sajanmehta14’ bested a 288-entry field and defeated Aditya ‘speckem’ Pareek (2nd for ₹93,000) heads-up to win ₹1.33 Lakhs. Meanwhile, Balodhi, who had scored a third-place finish in The Ridge, took fourth place in this event for a ₹44,280 payday.
Shardul Parthasarathi is another player deserving of applause. Supplementing his FT finishes in The Elite and The Ridge, Parthasarathi went on to champion PokerBaazi’s PMVS ₹4 Lakhs GTD for ₹90,459, where he defeated PokerGuru Ambassador Rony Chowdhury (runner-up for ₹63,473) heads-up.
Adda52
Despite being in the center of a raging controversy over charging higher rake on its Run it Twice tables, the site`s AOPS series went on undeterred on Friday. The AOPS Main Event ₹2 Crores GTD kicked off in style, with two of its six scheduled starting flights playing out yesterday. Day 1A registered 193 entries followed by another 237 entries on Day 1B. With the current field size standing at 430 entries, only 55 survivors (Day 1A – 23 and Day 1B – 32) could make the cut for Day 2. Day 1B chip leader Rahul ‘lucky_bastered’ Mech towers over this whittled down field with 319,117 in chips. Mech is followed by Day 1A chip leader Kunal ‘kunalrajkubba’ Kubba (281,053), and Raghav ‘raghavv’ Siddalinga (267,181) who round out the top three stacks. Bracelet winner Nikita ‘nikitaluther’ Luther (241,264), Deepak ‘orionn7’ Raina (225,646), Sanat ‘mehro2511’ Mehrotra (214,339) and Young Gun Gaurav ‘gauravarod’ Sood (198,554) have also carried big stacks to Day 2.
The headline tourney on Adda52 that played down to a winner last night was the ₹22,000 buy-in AOPS Holdem Highroller ₹40 Lakhs GTD. Breaking the barriers of the advertised guarantee, the event attracted 212 entries (127 unique and 85 re-entries) to collect ₹42.40 Lakhs in prize money. If the final table was infested with a good number of regs and upcoming pros like Deepak ‘bothras’ Bothra (3rd for ₹5.23 Lakhs), Prafull ‘bulletsbaby’ Hasbe (7th for ₹1.50 Lakhs), Sanket ‘cowboy12’ Jain (8th for ₹1.16 Lakhs) and PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh ‘boomtilt23’ Pal Singh (9th for ₹95,400), then making it to the top spot was an equally seasoned player Uttam ‘chinunew’ Kumar Sinha. A relatively low-key player, Sinha had last November won the Godfather XI for ₹4.96 Lakhs. Three days back, he had outmaneuvered several tough opponents to win The Destiny on Spartan Poker for ₹7.42 Lakhs. Yesterday, Sinha struck a heads-up deal with ‘sahib’ (runner-up for ₹9.18 Lakhs) before pocketing an impressive ₹9.48 Lakhs payout.
We also saw ‘shambooshankar’ capturing the AOPS Majorda ₹6 Lakhs GTD title for ₹2.20 Lakhs.
PokerStars India
The ongoing INSCOOP series played out nearly a dozen events yesterday. The featured tourney of the day was the INSCOOP Uppercut ₹20 Lakhs GTD that faltered on the guarantee with a ₹30,000 overlay on the back of a field of 394 entries (218 unique and 176 re-entries). PokerGuru Ambassador Rony ‘GoGetters1’ Chowdhury sailed into the final three but went no further, earning a ₹1.20 Lakhs payout for his third-place finish. In the end, it was circuit regular Goonjan ‘gmtesting.ind’ Mall duking it out with ‘allezjuju’ over the title. Mall has already FTed three events this week, most prominently scoring a third-place finish in The Pride ₹15 Lakhs GTD on Wednesday for ₹1.41 Lakhs. Mall finished runner-up for ₹1.52 Lakhs, while ‘allezjuju’ took home the winner’s cheque worth ₹3.93 Lakhs.
