We are less than 10 days away from wrapping up 2020, but Mondays continue to be the slowest day of the week for online poker. Yesterday was no different, as most of the flagships registered overlays.

Here are the highlights from Monday.

 

Spartan Poker

Leading the charge on Spartan Poker was the ₹10 Lakhs GTD ReCharge that put up the most massive prize pool guarantee of the day. The tourney ran from 8 PM to 3:32 AM, gathering 441 entrants, resulting in an overlay deficit of ₹1.18 Lakhs. The mystery user ‘fishyshark’ trailblazed to the top of the field to win ₹1.17 Lakhs. The champion now has ₹5.63 Lakhs in recorded winnings on Spartan Poker, with a profit of ₹2.91 Lakhs. Before winning the event, ‘fishyshark’ struck a six-way deal with Sajjan ‘KalaAngrez’ Barnwal (runner-up for ₹1.04 Lakhs), ‘Sup3rThr333’ (3rd for ₹1.01 Lakhs), Sanat ‘avneed’ Mehrotra (4th for ₹99,560), Sandeep ‘effuno’ Varma RS (5th for ₹98,058), and ‘KING77BABA’ (6th for ₹95,066).

The other marque event on offer was the ₹1,100 entry buy-in The Flash that promised a prize pool guarantee of ₹5 Lakhs. The 9:30 PM event pulled in 515 participants to surpass its listed guarantee by ₹15,000. Harshad ‘Hd690’ Dharaiya was the last player standing and won ₹79,813 after striking a three-way deal with Snehil ‘legendof91’ Aggarwal (runner-up for ₹64,413) and Kashish Anuj Sachdev (3rd for ₹57,704). The ₹5 Lakhs GTD Battle Royale headlined PokerStars India’s Monday MTT schedule. The ₹2,750 entry buy-in event dragged in 208 runners and posted a prize pool worth ₹5.20 Lakhs. The anonymous user ‘Fajal’ shipped the event for ₹1.17 Lakhs, following a heads-up chop with ‘fearsome55’ (runner-up for ₹57,251).

The other tournament awarding TLB points towards the ‘Star of the Month’ – December leaderboard race was the ₹1 Lakh GTD Bigstack Turbo. The event garnered 84 entries – falling 16 entries or ₹16,000 short of its 100-player guarantee. Ajit ‘ace_bob_here’ Singh Arora took down the event for ₹19,625, after a heads-up deal with Mohak ‘Flyingmuck’ Kapoor (runner-up for ₹20,544). Kapoor also final tabled Adda52’s Voyager, placing sixth for ₹11,160.

The featured tourney on Adda52 was the ₹8 Lakhs GTD Iron Man. Running from 8 PM to 2:07 AM, the tourney locked in 401 entries, overlaying ₹70,180. Debayan ‘debz19’ Das was the last player standing and took home ₹1.63 Lakhs. A heads-up deal ensured that runner-up Jasven ‘bajateraho’ Saigal walked away with ₹1.38 Lakhs. With this win, Das boosted his lifetime earnings to ₹17.13 Lakhs.

PokerBaazi’s ₹8 Lakhs GTD The Big Show was the Monday night flagship running on the site. The ₹3,300 entry buy-in event wrangled in 231 entries, resulting in a shortfall of ₹1.07 Lakhs. After seven hours and 40 minutes of intense play, Vaibhav ‘WakhraSwagNi’ Sharma decimated the competition to clinch the top honors that included a ₹1.88 Lakhs payday. This was Varma’s second final table finish of the night, following his fifth-place finish in Spartan Poker’s ReCharge, taking his cumulative score for the day to ₹1.35 Lakhs.

PokerDangal’s ₹5 Lakhs GTD GLORY got underway last night with its first starting flight, Day 1A, clocking in 90 entries. Only nine runners made it through to Day 2, with ‘rohit25king’ emerging as the end-of-Day 1A chip leader with a stack of 267,808. ‘Abhi9xm’ (231,519) and ‘Salazar’ (104,783) bagged the second and third biggest stacks of the day, respectively.
