We are less than 10 days away from wrapping up 2020, but Mondays continue to be the slowest day of the week for online poker. Yesterday was no different, as most of the flagships registered overlays.
Here are the highlights from Monday.
Spartan Poker
Leading the charge on Spartan Poker was the ₹10 Lakhs GTD ReCharge that put up the most massive prize pool guarantee of the day. The tourney ran from 8 PM to 3:32 AM, gathering 441 entrants, resulting in an overlay deficit of ₹1.18 Lakhs. The mystery user ‘fishyshark’ trailblazed to the top of the field to win ₹1.17 Lakhs. The champion now has ₹5.63 Lakhs in recorded winnings on Spartan Poker, with a profit of ₹2.91 Lakhs. Before winning the event, ‘fishyshark’ struck a six-way deal with Sajjan ‘KalaAngrez’ Barnwal (runner-up for ₹1.04 Lakhs), ‘Sup3rThr333’ (3rd for ₹1.01 Lakhs), Sanat ‘avneed’ Mehrotra (4th for ₹99,560), Sandeep ‘effuno’ Varma RS (5th for ₹98,058), and ‘KING77BABA’ (6th for ₹95,066).

After seven hours and 40 minutes of intense play, Vaibhav ‘WakhraSwagNi’ Sharma decimated the competition to clinch the top honors that included a ₹1.88 Lakhs payday. The 9 PM Special ₹2 Lakhs GTD Monday MonsterStack was taken down by ‘bencb789’ for ₹53,600. He bested Sandeep ‘effuno’ Varma RS (runner-up for ₹37,540) in heads-up play. This was Varma’s second final table finish of the night, following his fifth-place finish in Spartan Poker’s ReCharge, taking his cumulative score for the day to ₹1.35 Lakhs.

PokerDangal’s ₹5 Lakhs GTD GLORY got underway last night with its first starting flight, Day 1A, clocking in 90 entries. Only nine runners made it through to Day 2, with ‘rohit25king’ emerging as the end-of-Day 1A chip leader with a stack of 267,808. ‘Abhi9xm’ (231,519) and ‘Salazar’ (104,783) bagged the second and third biggest stacks of the day, respectively. The eventual winner of this event will get the opportunity to represent the Team Kolkata Kings at the upcoming Poker Sports League – Season 3 (Virtual), and this over and above the first-place prize money that is expected to run into six-figures.
