With no major tournament series running currently, there is a visible void in the virtual felts! The player turnouts across the Wednesday flagships last night was nothing to write home about as most of them ended up filling in significant overlays, barring Spartan Poker`s Destiny!

Here’s a quick recap of all the action!

Spartan Poker

The one tournament all serious poker enthusiasts look forward to the entire week, Spartan Poker`s Destiny, had another profitable outing last night. The ₹25 Lakhs guaranteed tourney pulled in 523 entries to play, posting ₹36.15 Lakhs in the prize pool. A little under eight hours, Vikranth ‘borntrouble’ Varma held all the chips in play to win the tourney and a ₹4.90 Lakhs payday – not to forget a seat in the Destiny 17.0 SnG Finale that takes place on December 27. This was undoubtedly a much-welcome victory for Varma, who has finished runner-up in this same tourney at least three times before.

Varma had to overcome stiff competition on the final table to reach the top and eventually shook hands on a three-way deal with the experienced MTT pro Jasven ‘Ponkey’ Saigal (runner-up for ₹4.86 Lakhs) and Advait ‘Ronaldinho18’ Rajguru (3rd for ₹3.64 Lakhs) before taking down the title.

Varma currently ranks #14 in the yearly standings and last won the TGIF for ₹2.32 Lakhs on September 26. He has already crossed ₹2.30 Crores in recorded earnings for the year and boasts ₹3.52 Crores in lifetime winnings.

Starting at 9:30 PM last night, the ₹2.75 Lakhs GTD Mega Freeze registered 99 hopefuls to post a guarantee-crushing ₹2.97 Lakhs prize pool. After close to five hours of play, ‘IveyLeague9009’ navigated their way to the top to win ₹70,601 following a three-way deal with ‘NAVIN 33’ (runner-up for ₹49,365) and Ashumi ‘ASH1578’ Parekh (3rd for ₹48,729).

PokerStars India

PokerStars India’s Wednesday flagship, the ₹5 Lakhs GTD Night on Stars, brought together 271 contenders that led to an overlay shortfall of ₹68,839. Rahul ‘andarkiaag’ Thakur was the last player standing in the tourney, and he won ₹95,585. Sahil ‘inaboobham’ Mahboobani finished runner-up for ₹70,499.

The win has secured Thakur the #3 spot in the ongoing Week #4 of PokerStars India’s Star Of the Month leaderboard race. This happens to be his second-best overall score and his best finish on PokerStars India, pushing his recorded earnings on the site to ₹10.51 Lakhs.

Mahboobani posted a second FT score yesterday, placing sixth in Adda52’s Maverick for ₹52,500.

Starting a few hours later, the ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD Ultrasonic had ‘0parINDa0’ traversing the 178-entry field, pocketing ₹35,914 in first-place prize money.

Adda52

Adda52’s signature Wednesday tourney, the Maverick, clocked in 637 entries to experience a shortfall of ₹50,125 on its ₹15 Lakhs prize pool guarantee. After almost nine hours of play, Faiz ‘theinternetkid’ Alam powered his way through to win ₹3.52 Lakhs for the outright victory. Unknown user ‘TheRedWaste’ finished runner-up for ₹2.40 Lakhs.

Alam has an enviable record on Adda52 – most notably for winning the ₹2 Crores GTD AOPS ME Finale in March for ₹50 Lakhs. Last night`s run has sent his online record soaring to ₹2.95 Crores with his annual tally just a tad shy of the ₹1 Crore-mark at ₹97.79 Lakhs.

The runner-up ‘TheRedWaste’ posted a second runner-up score yesterday in the La Luna for ₹74,280.

Unlike the Maverick, the ₹4 Lakhs GTD La Luna collected a guarantee-crushing ₹4.87 Lakhs on the back of 297 entries. Online reg Raghav ‘Raghavv’ Siddalinga championed the tourney to win ₹1.25 Lakhs even as ‘TheRedWaste’ finished runner-up for ₹74,280.

Myron Pereira has been unrelenting in his form, and last night, he FT-ed two tourneys. Besides his third-place finish in La Luna for ₹56,014, he also placed seventh in PokerStars India’s Night on Stars ₹15,387. The Goa-based online reg seems to be doing well for himself, having already touched ₹2.21 Crores in recorded earnings.

The ₹3 Lakhs GTD Wednesday SuperStack also booked an ₹14,000 shortfall because of a slightly below-par 143 entry turnout. PokerBaazi streamer Ritwik ‘Ritwikkhanna’ Khanna did it again, as he won the tourney for ₹77,250 while live-streaming his Wednesday night run on the site. The rising talent Mohak ‘Tiltin’ Kapoor finished runner-up for ₹54,090.
