After several weeks of non-stop action, the MTT crowd gets some downtime now that the IOPC and the APT India stops have wrapped up!

For the time being, the focus has shifted to the small and mid-stakes offerings. Adda52`s ₹1 Crore GTD Nano Poker Series is already well underway, with Spartan Poker’s ₹1.40 Crores GTD Ultimate Value Series coming up on Monday. Yesterday, Spartan Poker hosted a single-day OFC Championship.

Wednesday unraveled the usual MTT action, with turnouts improving across most sites.

Vishal Ojha was the day`s breakout winner and won Spartan Poker`s Destiny for a career-best ₹5.83 Lakhs and a seat in the Destiny 22.0 SnG. He could easily have won a second title and posted a second-place finish in Adda52’s La Luna (2nd for ₹65,000), altogether adding ₹6.58 Lakhs.

Adda52 reg Ravindra Arikeri won his career-first Maverick title for ₹3.13 Lakhs and struck a three-way deal with Riyaz Khan (2nd for ₹2.29 Lakhs) and Lavesh Meena (3rd for 2.22 Lakhs).

PokerBaazi’s The Pride saw Neelakantan Murali walking away with the title and the ₹2.33 Lakhs up-top, following a heads-up deal with Mohit Dhingra (2nd for ₹2.27 Lakhs).

Spartan Poker user ‘David2000’ shipped Wednesday Vibes for ₹1.21 Lakhs after beating Sunday’s IOPC – The Crown champion Amit Gehani (2nd for ₹80,580) heads-up.

Vignesh Kumar won PokerBaazi`s all-new Daily Boost for 1.13 Lakhs. He chopped the top prize four ways with Sandeep Khandelwal (2nd for 86,690), ‘Yoanatanwar’ (3rd for 86,270), and Himanshu Aggarwal (4th for 78,750).

Madhur Sandal a.k.a Tony came out on top in PokerBaazi`s SPRINT, pocketing 1.11 Lakhs. Young Gun Karan Radia collected 1.08 Lakhs in second place. One of the most consistent winners of the year, Radia raked in another 2.20 Lakhs from his third-place finish in the Destiny, filling in ₹3.28 Lakhs in total earnings.

The #2 ranked player of 2021, Manish Lakhotia, made away with ₹2.23 Lakhs from two top finishes that included winning PokerStars India’s Night on Stars for ₹1.01 Lakhs. Bharat Vasan came second for ₹77,611.

S Ganesan, Rajneesh Thakur, Noel Pais, Kumaresh Devendran, Atif Khan, Ajay Sharawat, Mohit Singh, and Prashant Pandagre won the other Wednesday marquees.

Spartan Poker

Spartan Poker’s Wednesday mainstay, Destiny 22.0, returned yesterday after an IOPC induced hiatus. Sporting a ₹22 Lakhs prize pool guarantee, the ₹5,500 buy-in event registered a 426-entry starting field, and the 40 finalists who made it in the money benefitted from the ₹70,000 overlay value. Vishal ‘Darky012’ Ojha landed the title and defeated ‘Flimflam’ (2nd for ₹3.63 Lakhs) in heads-up play to collect a career-best ₹5.83 Lakhs.

Vishal Ojha, who had FT-ed the Destiny thrice in the past, not only made away with the bragging rights, but he also booked himself a seat in the Destiny 22.0 SnG Finale coming up on February 13 (9 PM). Ojha made an impressive run in Adda52’s La Luna and ITMed another three events, adding ₹6.58 Lakhs in total winnings.

His top ITM finishes include:

The freshly-minted IOPC – The Crown champion Amit ‘Kavipri’ Suresh Gehani is the cynosure of all eyes, and rightfully so. The #1 ranked player on the annual charts, Gehani was among the 403 contenders who signed up for the ₹5.50 Lakhs GTD Wednesday Vibes, and he made it to the heads-up finale against ‘David2000’ – the latter eventually winning the title for ₹1.21 Lakhs. Gehani collected ₹80,580 in second place, boosting his online scorecard to ₹2.19 Crores. The guarantee-crushing ₹6.05 Lakhs prize pool was distributed among 39 places.

The 7.30 PM event, the ₹4 Lakhs GTD Sundowner, recorded a 426-player field, falling ₹59,200 short of its listed guarantee. S ‘uiiieee’ Ganeshan cut his way past the competition to win the title for ₹68,713. Siryourchipsplease’ finished runner-up for ₹64,807, courtesy of a heads-up deal.

Spartan Poker is bringing back another edition of the Ultimate Value Series for the low to mid-stakes players. Starting on Monday, February 14, UVS will dish out cash prizes worth at least ₹1.40 Crores over its week-long run.

The site also hosted a one-day OFC Championship, guaranteeing ₹4 Lakhs across three tournaments. ‘Boudicca’ was the biggest winner at the OFC extravaganza and topped the 122-entry field in the ₹3 Lakhs GTD OFC Championship #3 to collect ₹46,500. AshishX– factor’ Pareek came second for ₹27,000.

Riyaz ‘rkriyaz’ Khan (2nd for 2.29 Lakhs), and Lavesh ‘lavesh7’ Meena (3rd for 2.22 Lakhs) banked the other top payouts, courtesy of a three-way deal. The 2,750 buy-in event registered an overlay shortfall of 1.95 Lakhs, and 55 places got paid.
