It’s D-day! April 15 marks the beginning of India’s most massive online tournament to-date, PokerBaazi’s ₹5 CRS GTD EndBoss! This historic tournament gets rolling with the first of its four starting flights at 7 PM tonight, and for the next five days, there will be little else to talk about! For now, let’s do a quick recap of all the action across the online flagships last night!
Online guarantees continue to be crushed, and the trend should continue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi extending the countrywide lockdown till May 3.
The Spartan Super Series (SSS) has been the go-to series for the tournament crowd since April 9, and it was the SSS#40 MegaStack that stole the thunder on Tuesday! The biggest online tournament to hit the digital felts last night, the MegaStack logged in a massive 1,143 entries (501 unique entries, 222 re-entries, and 420 re-buys) that helped collect a whopping ₹34.29 Lakhs in prize money! Once again, maneuvering his way across the reg-ingested field was Vivek ‘KasolHieghts’ Singh, who banked ₹5.23 Lakhs following a heads-up deal with Pranav ‘mithrandir16’ Anand (runner-up for ₹5.20 Lakhs). For Singh, this was his third online title this week – he had taken down the Singh also won SSS#22 Afternoon Showdown ₹8 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.72 Lakhs on Sunday and followed that up by winning the PokerStars India`s Battle Royale ₹5 Lakhs GTD on Monday for ₹1.35 Lakhs.
Meanwhile, the SSS#41 The Race ₹10 Lakhs GTD drew 778 entries (361 unique, 111 re-entries and 306 re-buys), accruing a prize pool worth ₹11.67 Lakhs Sathish ‘Jaqkten’ Ananth championed the event for ₹1.42 Lakhs after cutting a five-way deal.
PokerBaazi played host to its weekly flagship, The Endeavour ₹15 Lakhs GTD, yesterday. The tourney logged in a strong field of 658 participants (320 unique and 338 re-entries) and posted a prize pool of ₹23.03 Lakhs. Alok ‘TheProfessional’ Birewar trounced the competition, which included defeating Karan ‘Apocalypto’ Radia (runner-up for ₹2.98 Lakhs) heads-up to clinch the title and ₹4.25 Lakhs in prize money.
Sanish Chhabra was another standout performer last night. He final tabled two events, finishing fifth in The Endeavour for ₹1.06 Lakhs and fourth in PokerStars India`s Sixth Sense for ₹62,222, collecting over 1.62 Lakhs from these two deep runs alone.
Meanwhile, Vivekk ‘Vivek25’ Dube topped the 259 entry field in the Endeavour Mini and walked away with ₹1.82 Lakhs in prize money.
Over at Adda52, the Hitman ₹7.5 Lakhs GTD enjoyed a smashing run as well and pulled in 389 hopefuls (186 unique and 203 re-entries), clocking in a prize pool worth ₹12.44 Lakhs. Devrat ‘vickypune’ Singh took top honors at the event and a paycheck of ₹3.36 Lakhs after defeating PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘rocky3705’ Ahuja (2nd for ₹2.07 Lakhs) heads-up!
PokerStars India’s Sixth Sense ₹10 Lakhs GTD was the exception as it failed to meet its guarantee, albeit by the thinnest of margins. Registering 333 entries (172 unique and 161 re-entries), the tourney fell a mere ₹1,000 short on the posted guarantee. Armaan ‘Armaan007111’ Kochhar came out on top after defeating PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish ‘chipcharity999’ Munot (runner-up for ₹1.24 Lakhs) heads-up to walk away with the ₹1.75 Lakhs first-place prize!
