The first week of 2021 is almost over, and the poker action seems to be gathering steam as we inch closer to two blockbuster events lined up for later this month, Spartan Poker`s IOPC and PokerBaazi`s APT 2021 Online Series India.
Here is a complete recap of all that transpired yesterday.
Spartan Poker
Spartan Poker has worked up a reputation as the top platform for MTT players, and yesterday again, it played host to the biggest guaranteed tourney of the day. We are referring to the site`s ₹17 Lakhs GTD Mega Stack that logged in 545 entries to post an overlay of ₹65,000. PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek ‘KasolHieghts’ Singh outlasted the competition to win his first flagship title of 2021, booking a payday worth ₹3.30 Lakhs. ‘Junior-KK’ finished runner-up for ₹2.09 Lakhs. A former Destiny winner, Singh’s lifetime MTT tally crossed ₹4.6 Crores after the win!
The ₹7 Lakhs GTD The Race wrangled in 484 entries to collect ₹7.26 Lakhs in the prize pool. Chirag ‘Chiragkhandelwal’ Khandelwal was the last player standing in the tourney and collected ₹1.41 Lakhs. The former PokerBaazi’s PPL PLO HighRoller champion, Aditya ‘ELASTICITY’ Kulkarni finished runner-up for ₹89,879.
PokerStars India
PokerStars India, as usual, had two ₹5 Lakhs GTD tourneys on the tap. First up was the 7:30 PM Sixth Sense that registered 238 entries to fill in an overlay shortfall of ₹24,000. The tourney played down to an epic showdown between Pratibh ‘Pratibh Saluja’ Saluja and Manish ‘theoldestkid’ Lakhotia, with the former eventually coming out on top to win ₹92,186. Lakhotia banked ₹66,829.
The runner-up Lakhotia, one of the top winners of 2020, FT-ed two tourneys last night. His other deep run was a fourth-place finish in Adda52’s The Mint for ₹1.15 Lakhs that pushed his total winnings for the day upwards of ₹1.80 Lakhs.
All the ITM finishers in the Sixth Sense collected TLB points for PokerStars India’s “Star of the Month” – January leaderboard race.
The ₹2,750 entry buy-in Uppercut Mini wrangled in 200 entries to just about break-even on its advertised guarantee. Shivam ‘brooskyradio1’ Shukla shipped the tourney, netting ₹1.28 Lakhs (₹47,147 in prize money, ₹80,703 in bounties). Shubam ‘backchod launda’ Agarwal placed runner-up for ₹37,876 (₹34,751 in prize money, ₹3,125 in bounties).
Adda52
The featured tourney on Adda52, the ₹15 Lakhs GTD The Mint, brought in 439 entries (234 unique, 209 re-entries) to post a guarantee-smashing ₹15.37 Lakhs prize pool. It was almost 3 AM on the tournament clock by the time the two-time Inception winner Pawan ‘_luffy_1x1’ Tez championed the tourney to win a personal-best (on Adda52) ₹2.90 Lakhs. The FT saw a three-way deal go through with Raj ‘rajroyrkl’ Kumar Roy (runner-up for ₹2.39 Lakhs) and ‘Therealmoneyball’ (3rd for ₹2.24 Lakhs) collecting the other top paydays.
The ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD Voyager saw ‘faze123’ navigating their way to the top to win ₹82,750. ‘nairsne’ finished runner-up for ₹50,147.
PokerBaazi
All scheduled tourneys on PokerBaazi post 3 PM were canceled due to scheduled maintenance.
