Thursday witnessed a deluge of players hitting the virtual felts as Spartan Poker’s ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire came back for another edition last night. This, alongside the other weekday flagships, and three micro-series running across different sites, made for an eventful day of poker.

Young Gun Anmol Mehta was the breakout winner of the day, and he bagged two flagship titles. The 26-year-old MTT pro won PokerBaazi’s The Summit (₹4.58 Lakhs) and PokerStars India`s Highroller (₹2.52 Lakhs), accumulating ₹7.24 Lakhs in total winnings.

Sahil Mahboobani stood second on the Thursday winners list. He championed Adda52`s Godfather for ₹4.92 Lakhs and placed runner-up in Spartan Poker`s Monster Stack for ₹1.37 Lakhs, netting ₹6.29 Lakhs overall.

Nitin Arora, Raghav Bansal, and Utkarsh Vaish were the day’s other top winners.

Spartan Poker

Thursday sounded off proceedings for the third ‘The Millionaire’ edition of May. Day 1A of the five-flight tourney wrangled in 311 entries, and after over four hours of play, only 44 survived through to Day 2. PokerGuru Ambassador Ankit ‘Shippament’ Wadhawan (194,277), Vivek ‘jaadugarni’ Verma (164,254), and Mukul ‘mukulmukulsharma’ Sharma (160,242) bagged the top stacks last night.

Firing up the primetime slot on Spartan Poker was the ₹20 Lakhs GTD Trending Thursday. The 8 PM tourney registered 601 entrants to collect a whopping ₹21.03 Lakhs prize pool. Site regular ‘TheMeisTeR’ (anonymity requested) was the last player standing and won ₹4.10 Lakhs. Utkarsh ‘kidpokerNJ’ Vaish came second for a ₹2.60 Lakhs payday, his second-best recorded finish on the site!

One of the top winners last week, Sahil Mahboobani, made a big splash again last night. Mahboobani all but topped the 557-entry field in the ₹10 Lakhs GTD Monster Stack, losing the title to ‘ab1706,’ who took it down for ₹2.16 Lakhs. Even as Mahboobani picked up a runner-up payday of ₹1.37 Lakhs, he went the distance in Adda52’s Godfather to collect ₹4.92 Lakhs, earning ₹6.29 Lakhs overall. He now boasts a ginormous ₹7.43 Crores in lifetime earnings.

Spartan Poker`s UVS May Edition is approaching the finish line, and Day 4 of the series had six events on the schedule. The day`s featured event, the ₹4.7 Lakhs GTD UVS#24 Monster Stack, registered 455 entries, filling in ₹15,000 in overlays. Aditya ‘konstantinn’ Singh walked away with the title and ₹91,603 after defeating ‘Stargst’ (runner-up for ₹58,186) in heads-up play.

Rahul Ronald ‘Psyberation’ Abraham championed the ₹3.5 Lakhs GTD UVS#23 Golden Vault for ₹65,350 after striking a heads-up deal with ‘APOPHIS’ (2nd for ₹52,153).

Anmol ‘Kaanchacheena’ Mehta was the last player standing and won 2.52 Lakhs. He had a formidable heads-up opponent in Gaurav ‘3betPanda’ Sood, who collected 1.95 Lakhs for his runner-up finish.

Anmol Mehta pocketed his biggest score of the day (and a second title) in PokerBaazi’s The Summit, where he topped 260 entries to pocket a 4.58 Lakhs payday. Another min-cash in the Trending Thursday saw the lawyer-turned poker pro collecting a whopping 7.24 Lakhs. With 3.95 Crores in tracked online winnings, he is fast closing in on the 4 Crore Club!”

With his runner-up finish in the Highroller and another min-cash, Gaurav Sood added 2 Lakhs to his tally. The 2020 annual leaderboard topper is currently ranked #3 on the 2021 leaderboard standings.

Day 5 of the Indian Micro Poker Series (IMPS) had five tourneys on the schedule. The most prominent of them, the ₹10 Lakhs GTD IMPS#28 Mini Main Event, played out the second (Day 1B) of its two starting flights. Day 1B clocked in 474 entries, and 59 survived through to Day 2. Adding the 619 entries from Day 1A, the ₹1,100 entry buy-in event formed a player field of 1,093 entries, framing a ₹10.93 Lakhs prize pool.
