Deepankur Gupta is Sixth PokerGuru Ambassador to Win Spartan Poker’s ‘The Millionaire’ Title This Year (₹17.76 Lakhs)

Throughout 2021, PokerGuru Ambassadors have dominated the virtual felts, repeatedly shipping the biggest guaranteed tournaments. One such flagship that Team PokerGuru has well and truly made their own is Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire. Starting off with Vishal Bajaj in March, PokerGuru Staking members have claimed ‘The Millionaire’ title several times since, including the likes of Laksh Pal Singh (April 11), Kartik Ved (May 9), Vivek Singh (May 16), and Mithun Mahesh (May 23).

Joining this elite list of pros is the newest addition to the stable, Deepankur Gupta (cover image)! The young poker talent traversed a 1,797-entry field to capture his career-first The Millionaire title for a jaw-dropping ₹17.76 Lakhs (cumulative) last night. Gupta scored another three ITM finishes on Sunday, pocketing ₹17.95 Lakhs overall!

The NPS Silver Medallist Rumit Khade finished runner-up in The Millionaire for ₹9.86 Lakhs.

The second edition of the World Poker Tour Online India (WPTOI) Series completed its second week on Sunday. The four-time Destiny champion Nitin Arora emerged as the site’s biggest Sunday winner after shipping the WPT India Mini Main Event for ₹7.38 Lakhs. The DOPT Main Event champion Gagandeep Singh Malik finished runner-up for ₹5.25 Lakhs.

In honor of India’s 75th Independence Day, Adda52 hosted a WPT Independence Day Special event as part of its Sunday schedule. Karan Malhotra walked away with the title and a ₹5.65 Lakhs payday, following a three-way deal.

Deepesh Raka shipped Spartan Poker’s Sunday Superstack for ₹7.29 Lakhs, and Anurag Srivastava took down PokerStars India’s Sunday Highroller Progressive KO for ₹2.83 Lakhs.

Muthukumar Rajagopalan, Adithya NG, Sanish Chhabra, Harsh Dembla, Young Gun Siddhanth Kripalani, and Kunal Patni won the other Sunday majors.

Spartan Poker

The second Millionaire tourney of August logged in 1,797 entries, filling in ₹10.15 Lakhs in overlays. Day 2 began at 10 PM with 236 qualifying stacks (Day 1A – 27, Day 1B – 30, Day 1C – 32, Day 1D –63, and Day 1E – 84), including 164 unique players. After six hours and seven minutes of play, the latest addition to PokerGuru Staking, Deepankur ‘dp179’ Gupta, emerged as The Millionaire champion, banking a career-best ₹17.48 Lakhs. He also finished 51st in the event for ₹28,200, earning a cumulative ₹17.76 Lakhs. Yesterday, he finished ITM in three more events earning a cumulative ₹17.95 Lakhs. This win marked Gupta’s ninth title win of the year and his second title win after joining the PokerGuru Staking stable.

Spartan Poker’s Sunday mainstay, the ₹40 Lakhs GTD Sunday Superstack, pulled in 410 entries, surpassing its advertised guarantee by ₹1 Lakh. The IOPC #6 winner Deepesh ‘prince1993’ Raka championed the event to collect a personal-best ₹7.30 Lakhs after striking a heads-up deal with ‘Sanu15’ (runner-up for ₹7.21 Lakhs).

The Adda52 Big Game champion Arun ‘vazharmorghulis’ Sriram finished ITM in a total of six events yesterday, netting a cumulative ₹7.14 Lakhs.

‘Paulo Dybala’ (Won UVS #44 Monster Stack ₹4.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹77,282), ‘BetterthanB4’ (Won UVS #41 ₹1.55 Lakhs GTD for ₹36,038), ‘sangwan23’ (Won UVS #40 PLO ₹1.15 Lakhs GTD for ₹22,187), Unnikrishnan ‘parzival74’ Nair (Won UVS #38 ₹85K GTD for ₹17,043), ‘limitless147’ (Won UVS #39 ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹16,315), and ‘MoonKnight7’ (Won UVS #42 The Centurion ₹90K GTD for ₹13,511) won the other UVS titles on the last day of the series.

The ₹3 Lakhs-added UVS series leaderboard got taken down by ‘BetterthanB4’ for ₹1.20 Lakhs. ‘MR.369’ (second for ₹80,000) and Ravi ‘Rvjn91’ Jain (₹50,000) rounded off the top three places on the series leaderboard standings.

The World Poker Tour (WPT) Online India Series awarded nine titles on Sunday, including three WPT trophies. Running alongside the Sunday marquees was the 15th starting flight of the WPT India Unreal and two starting flights of the WPT India Mini Main Event.

The WPT Mini Main Event with its ₹50 Lakhs prize pool guarantee was the Sunday showstopper of the series. Day 2 kicked off at 9.30 PM, with 395 qualifiers from the starting field of 3,837 entries bringing their stacks to play. Incidentally, the ₹999 buy-in tournament experienced a glaring ₹15.47 Lakhs overlay deficit, offering a high-value proposition for players. Making his way to the top was the former ATOC 6-Max Championship winner Nitin ‘bigbluffs’ Arora, who added a second WPT title to his name for ₹7.38 Lakhs. The former DOPT Main Event champion, Gagandeep ‘gaganhyd’ Singh Malik came second for ₹5.25 Lakhs.

The four-time Destiny winner, Nitin Arora, had entered August by taking down the ₹6.50 Lakhs GTD IOPC #133 for ₹1.36 Lakhs. On August 6, he added an APT title to his tally by shipping the ₹15 Lakhs GTD APT #30 DST for ₹3.19 Lakhs. The WPT Mini Main Event win is Arora’s second WPT title, after the WPT Table for 6 title he won last November. It is also the third title Arora has clinched this month. His Sunday winnings, including two more ITM finishes, equaled ₹8.05 Lakhs.

Winning the second WPT trophy up for grabs on Sunday was the upcoming poker talent Karan ‘gogikaran’ Malhotra, who ran past a field of 497 entries to ship the ₹30 Lakhs GTD WPT Independence Day Special. The 9 PM attraction was hosted as a tribute to India’s 75th Independence Day and recorded a guarantee-smashing ₹34.79 Lakhs prize pool. Arora captured the tourney for a personal-best ₹5.65 Lakhs, following a three-way deal with ‘arushiagarwal’ (runner-up for ₹5.47 Lakhs) and Sandeep ‘40chor’ Bhatnagar (3rd for ₹5.40 Lakhs).

In the ₹15 Lakhs GTD WPT Mega Stack, an entry field of 546 runners made for a bumper prize pool of₹21.84 Lakhs. The event kicked off at 7.30 PM and continued right till 4.30 AM, with Adithya ‘Rlox1’ NG taking it down for ₹5.68 Lakhs. Ashok Kumar ‘justmissed’ Kailash placed runner-up for ₹3.22 Lakhs.

Adithya, who won his first Godfather title for a career-best ₹6.13 Lakhs on July 29, also shipped the ₹1.40 Lakhs GTD WPT Battlefield for ₹38,875 last night, bringing his collective Sunday winnings to ₹6.12 Lakhs.

Another of Sunday’s WPT titles was claimed by Saturday’s House Party champion, Tanmay ‘PlusEv’ Benara, who trounced a 320-player field in the ₹6 Lakhs GTD WPT Monster Turbo to collect ₹1.52 Lakhs. Benara struck a heads-up deal with ‘boosterx,’ who secured a runner-up payday of ₹1.51 Lakhs.

‘boosterx’ went on to champion the ₹2.50 Lakhs GTD WPT Mini Turbo for ₹52,105, collectively adding over ₹2.03 Lakhs on Sunday.

The ₹5 Lakhs GTD WPT Hustle brought in 433 players, filling in ₹67,000 in overlays. It was all over when Sandeep ‘effuno’ Varma, ‘Dr1313’ and Ánkit ‘kasatankit’ shook hands on a deal that awarded the title and ₹77,940 in prize money to Varma. ‘Dr1313’ pocketed ₹77,159 for finishing runner-up, and Kasat placed third for ₹62,700.

happyfish’ (Won ₹3 Lakhs GTD Late Night PKO for ₹82,067), ‘yuni007’ (Won ₹2 Lakhs GTD WPT Daily Warmup for ₹52,00), ‘sarcasticAC007’ (Won WPT PLO for ₹8,700) and ‘Vickp00’ (Won WPT Regular 200 for ₹7,862) were the other Sunday winners on the site.

The ₹1 Crore GTD WPT Unreal continues to expand its field, and Sunday saw Flight 15 play out. The flight brought another 459 contenders to the virtual felts. Only 39 of them progressed to Day 2, with ‘Krbnn’ (527,104) topping the surviving field, followed by ‘abrahamabraham’ (353,279) and Parv ‘kidppoker’ Jain (351,950). The event has garnered 6,332 entries, and 868 players have already booked their seats for Day 2. There are 15 more flights to go before Day 2 on August 29 (7 PM).

The series is now past the halfway mark, with 15 days to go. Following the blockbuster Sunday, Raghav ‘FuckedUpLife’ Siddalinga (784 points) has taken charge of the WPT Mega Leaderboard, pushing PokerGuru Ambassadors Ashish Ahuja (776 points) and Ankit Wadhawan (745 points) to the #2 and #3 positions, respectively.

The Baazi Super Series (BSS) returned to PokerBaazi yesterday after a week-long hiatus. The Sunday headliner ₹20 Lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack was taken down by Muthukumar ‘hero1965’ Rajagopalan, who bagged a personal-best ₹4.35 Lakhs, following a heads-up deal with Ranjeet ‘Rj147’ Negi (2nd for ₹3.37 Lakhs).

This was Muthukumar Rajagopalan’s second title win of the year, pushing his online winnings on PokerBaazi to ₹51.94 Lakhs (₹69,873 in net profits).

The eventual runner-up, Ranjeet Negi, ran deep in four events, raking in ₹4.32 Lakhs in Sunday winnings, taking his lifetime tally north of ₹2.06 Crores (₹17.55 Lakhs in net profits).

PokerBaazi returned to its trend of hosting two ₹5 Lakhs guaranteed events on Sunday. However, this time around, the BSS Megastack was replaced by the BSS SPRINT (7-Max) that ran from 9 PM to 1:52 AM. The event registered 259 entries and posted a ₹5.18 Lakhs prize pool. Young Gun Siddhanth ‘ender’ Kripalani toppled ‘TheTamizhDurrr’ (2nd for ₹85,522) heads-up to claim the title and the top prize of ₹1.21 Lakhs.
