May 1 will be remembered as a historic day for online poker in the United States as the World Series of Poker’s new digital poker platform welcomed players from Delaware, Nevada and New Jersey under the shared liquidity deal.
With this, the platform has become the first online poker site to offer a combined platform for players from these three states. Players in these three states will now get a wider variety of game selection and larger prize pools along with wider time zone coverage.
It’s almost Christmas for poker players in New Jersey as they now get their first opportunity to play for WSOP gold bracelets online.
The new and improved WSOP.com is assured with the aid of GeoComply’s geolocation technology that will ensure that play remains restricted to players within the borders of the tristate.
WSOP.com’s Head of Online Poker Bill Rini on the launch said, “It’s a monumental day for online poker in the United States. This is truly a game-changer for players and we hope is the model blueprint for additional states to join the fray.”
To celebrate the enactment, WSOP.com has announced the inaugural shared liquidity tournament series dubbed “Coast to Coast Classic,” which is to take place through May 11-20 and guarantees at least $1,000,000 in prize pools across 32 tournaments. Headlining the series will be a $200,001 Guaranteed Main Event on May 20, making this the largest recorded U.S. regulated prize pool guarantee.
The buy-ins for the series will range from $11 to $1,000 and will offer three events on most days with Sunday being the only exception as it will play host to a fourth added event. In addition, WSOP.com is offering a freeroll ticket into a 20-seat guaranteed satellite for WSOP Event #10: $365 online gold bracelet event.
WSOP.com has also decided to improve its loyalty program, allowing Nevada and New Jersey players the opportunity to be part of the same club. The new and enhanced loyalty club will be called “Poker Rewards” and will allow players to achieve an incredible 32% rake back based on their participation. As a result of these changes, Total Rewards levels will be removed from Poker Rewards as to not confuse with offline Diamond and above levels that were previously running on the site.
