Delta Corp, India’s only BSE-listed casino and gaming company celebrated its 10th anniversary celebrations last week across its various properties in Goa, including its flagship casino, Deltin Royale.
Marked by gaming events and Bollywood performances, the extravaganza ran from November 30 – December 2.
While the grand celebration was graced by many well-known personalities, the presence of special invitee, Finnish poker player and former tennis star, Patrik Antonius, was certainly the biggest talking point in the poker community. He even put in a few cash game sessions at the Adda52 LIVE poker room onboard Casino Deltin Royale in Goa.
PokerGuru reached out to Antonius to share with us his views on his maiden trip to India and he said, “Poker in India is growing and it’s been nice to see how much people are enjoying to play here. I am looking forward to be part of big events in India in the future. Adda52 & Deltin Royale has done a great job in Goa to get India a proper recognition in poker.”
Antonius was seen mostly participating in high stakes Pot Limit Omaha games where he played with players like Jagdeep Singh and Anil Gulati.
“We are pleased to have Patrik Antonius commemorate our tenth anniversary and enjoy the festivities with the community,” said Manish Adnani, Business Head of Poker at Delta Corp.
“I am very humbled to celebrate this moment with Delta Corp. I remember playing the first game hosted by Casino Royale back in 2008, and since then poker has aggressively been promoted by Delta Corp Ltd and is growing at a fast pace in the sub-continent,” he added.

Also, in attendance was poker pro Siddarth Singhvi, who won the ‘Play with Patrik’ package on India’s oldest online poker site, Adda52.com for a chance to play some high-stakes poker with Antonius during the anniversary celebrations. However, Singhvi took the pragmatic route and kept his cash game sessions restricted to the stakes he was comfortable playing as he told PokerGuru. “I did not play the big game with Patrik, instead took the winning amount and grinded the stakes I am comfortable with. Patrik did come sometime during midnight and it was fun to meet him.”
But this wasn’t the first time Singhvi has won himself the chance to rub shoulders with celebrities. Interestingly, back in 2010 (Sept 26), he had won the very first PokerGuru freeroll and played the Aussie Spin King Shane Warne himself in a $100 heads-up match.
Singhvi has come a long way since then as he recently took down the ₹20K NLHE-Megastack Turbo title at the 2018 World Poker Tour (WPT) India for ₹5.71 Lakhs. Singhvi`s biggest career-score continues to be his runner-up finish in the 2015 India Poker Championship (IPC) ₹69K NLHE High Roller for ₹12.23 Lakhs.
The anniversary celebrations were marked by performances from celebrities like Brazilian actress Bruna Abdullah, model Shazahn Padamsee and singers Shraddha Pandit, Neeti Mohan, Pinky Maidasani and Shilipi Paul.

Delta Corp also organized various gaming events at its casinos, including poker, teen-patti, baccarat, blackjack etc. that saw participation from high stakes players who flew in for the celebrations from across the country.
