Since the latter half of 2019, we have consistently discussed the revival of the live poker scene in Goa. Headlining these developments has been the resurrection of the India Poker Championship (IPC) and Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) tournament brands. The Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) had till September 2019 enjoyed a monopoly of sorts in the live tournament domain with practically no serious competition. World Poker Tour (WPT) India was the only other major live stop making annual appearances and that too in collaboration with the core team at DPT and at the same venue.

But the competition has now heated up and realizing the need to get off the backfoot, DPT has announced three live tournament series for the first half of 2020. Announced by Manish Adnani, Business Head Poker at Delta Corp Ltd, through social media on January 30, not a lot of information regarding the series has been disclosed as of now. Nevertheless, it is expected that all three stops will have something in store for players of different stakes.

“We’re Back!! The Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) is all set to make a grand comeback this 2020 with three well-curated events with some exciting changes to the structures and TDS Policies. Save the dates and stay tuned!”

Starting off the tournament year for the DPT series will be DPT Xpress (DPTX), which will be hosted onboard the deluxe Casino Deltin Royale, the series will run from February 27 to March 1. The next stop on the schedule is yet another DPTX series. However, this one will take place onboard the Deltin JAOK from March 26 to 29. The third stop on the line-up is DPT April edition, which will take us back to the Deltin Royale and will be hosted from April 22 to 27, a few days before the inaugural National Poker Series takes place at PokerBaazi LIVE.

DPT 2020 Schedule

While the DPTX is known for traditionally catering to low-to-mid stakes players, the DPT has been known to attract the high-stakes regs. The events will also be featuring some exciting changes to the structures and TDS policies, as hinted by Adnani.

Talking about the upcoming stops, Adnani told PokerGuru, “DPT 2020 Series goes live with three well-curated events on Deltin Royale and Deltin JAQK. DPT and DPT Xpress have welcome changes to the already robust structures. We have some positive news for the players on TDS policies and Guarantees. As always, we continue to enhance the DPT experience and look forward to propelling the sport to the next level in the new decade. I wish you all a fantastic year ahead and may the variance be with you!”
