The 2020 Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) Xpress February Edition has concluded after four-days of electrifying action on-board the Casino Deltin Royale. Wrapping up the series in style was the ₹10K DeepStack Turbo that registered 78 entries, creating a prize pool of ₹7.49 Lakhs. 38-year-old Abhishek Sharma (cover image) took down the event for a personal-best ₹2.07 Lakhs, following a heads-up chop with Vaibhav Saxena (runner-up for ₹1.95 Lakhs).

A safety instructor for airlines, Sharma has been playing poker for the past two years. The Delhi-based player dabbles mostly in live MTTs and does not play online. His poker resume boasts of two previous final table finishes, namely in the 2019 DPT Xpress March Edition ₹15K Main Event (4th for ₹80,000) and the 2019 DPT July Edition ₹15K Deep Dive (8th for ₹1.20 Lakhs) respectively.

Talking about his win in the last event of the series, Sharma said, “It is never over until the river. You can even ship the last event, if not the Main.”

With only the top 10 runners assured a min-cash of ₹22,100, the breakout performer of this series, Dhaval Doshi, went out on the stone-cold money bubble. Doshi final tabled three out of the four events at this stop and narrowly missed making it four-for-four.

Deenbandhu Agarwal was the first player to finish in the money, placing 10th for ₹22,100. Incidentally, he also bubbled the nine-handed final table.
