With Team India storming the 52nd World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas and the much-hyped India vs. Pakistan World T20 match playing out, there were many live-action events to choose from on Sunday. But it was the final day of the ₹5 Crore GTD EndBoss that well and truly grabbed the attention of the ‘desi’ poker lovers, and what a finale it was!
It took a little over seven hours last night for a new EndBoss champion to be crowned. Like last time, it was not an established name that walked away with the grand title, but a relatively lesser-known player, Ishaan Chugh! The 31-year-old poker player from New Delhi collected a personal-best ₹71.48 Lakhs for his win, following a three-way chop.
Chugh is a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) alumni, and it was at this prestigious institution, his poker journey began while pursuing a degree in Computer Science. A self-proclaimed recreational player, Chugh is a researcher at the NCR Business School working in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Design.
Talking about his win in the EndBoss, Chugh said, “It`s nice! ₹70 Lakhs is what we split for. It’s not a small amount, ₹1 Crore. So, I am very happy!”
The three-way deal saw the Darjeeling-based Dhiraj Lakhotia pocket his career-best score of ₹57.30 Lakhs in second place. Divanshu Khurana from Gurgaon came third, also for a personal-best ₹63.37 Lakhs.
Moving onto the other brands, Spartan Poker’s biggest guaranteed tournament, the Sunday Superstack, was championed by ‘sanapalbhar’ for ₹4.67 Lakhs, following a three-way deal with Armaan Kochhar (2nd for ₹4.50 Lakhs) and Umang Kakarania (3rd for ₹4.40 Lakhs).
Young Gun Ujjwal Narwal banked a hefty ₹30.70 Lakhs in Sunday winnings on the back of three deep runs, including the Adda52’s Mega Suits title for ₹6.20 Lakhs. The former The Ballers winner Jitesh Kumar championed the Adda52 Millions for ₹6.86 Lakhs.
Rubin Labroo took down PokerStars India’s Sunday Special Limited Edition for ₹2.60 Lakhs. PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja, who recently entered the ‘₹9 Crores Club,’ walked away with the Sunday Highroller title and a ₹2.86 Lakhs payday.
Juli Kumari, Kritagya Sharma, Prashanth Sekar, Harsh Bubna, Karan Malhotra, Karan Sitlani, Kashish Sachdev, and Mandar Madaye were the other Sunday winners.
Here are the Sunday highlights!

PokerBaazi
The results are finally in! The second edition of PokerBaazi’s ₹5 Crore GTD EndBoss culminated in the wee hours of Monday morning, with Ishaan ‘ishaanc90’ Chugh being crowned as the latest EndBoss champion. The poker player from New Delhi struck a three-way deal with Dhiraj ‘supernuts’ Lakhotia and Divanshu ‘1diot’ Khurana.
Before we get to the winner and other notable final table finishers, let’s quickly do a recap of EndBoss 2021. The multi-flight event seemed to be on the verge of hitting a massive overlay on Friday, but the last two flights, i.e., Day 1D and 1E, witnessed a spike in participation. The final number of entries registered at the event was 4,816, overlaying ₹18.40 Lakhs.
Coming back to the participants, the winner, Ishaan Chugh, pumped up his bankroll by a life-altering ₹71.48 Lakhs. The first-ever EndBoss winner Abhishek Maheshwari had been the first player in Indian poker history to claim an eight-figure payday, ₹1 Crore, following his win on April 19 last year.
The three-way deal saw Friday’s The Ballers third-place finisher, Dhiraj Lakhotia take home a career-best ₹57.30 Lakhs, boosting his recorded online winnings to ₹1.73 Crores. Meanwhile, Divanshu Khurana secured an even better ₹63.37 Lakhs for his third-place finish. This score helped him breach the ₹1 Crore mark in tracked online earnings that now stand at ₹1.12 Crores.
Young Gun Ujjwal ‘Mr_Robot’ Narwal was in fantastic form yesterday, and the 24-year-old went on to collect a whopping ₹30.70 Lakhs in Sunday winnings.
His deep runs include:
> 4th in PokerBaazi’s EndBoss for ₹21.90 Lakhs
> 1st in Adda52’s Mega Suits for ₹6.20 Lakhs
> 2nd in PokerStars India’s Sunday Special for ₹2.60 Lakhs
Mohammad ‘chandlerbing’ Azhar has been a revelation over the past few months. The first-ever NPS Main Event champion came close to clinching the WPT Main Event title in August. And last night, he yet again made a valiant effort to ship the EndBoss. Though he fell six places short of the grand prizes, his mind-boggling performance fetched him almost ₹13.64 Lakhs.
His ITM finishes include:
> 7th in PokerBaazi’s EndBoss for ₹10.55 Lakhs
> 6th in Spartan Poker’s Sunday SuperStack for ₹1,46,700
> 6th in PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack for ₹85,638
> 6th in PokerStars India’s Sunday Highroller for ₹77,051
In fact, besides Mohammad Azhar, most other EndBoss 2021 final table finishers recorded their career-best scores in the event.
Running alongside the final day of the EndBoss 2021 was the ₹20 Lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack. The ₹5,500 buy-in event gathered 425 entrants, posting a ₹21.25 Lakhs prize pool. Ghanshyam ‘bencb789’ Tripathi was the last player standing and netted a cool ₹3.29 Lakhs in prize money, following a three-way deal with ‘vaibhi18’ (2nd for ₹2.99 Lakhs) and Sanish ‘Sanish21’ Chhabra (3rd for ₹2.90 Lakhs).

The inaugural Game Changer winner Prashanth ‘Iveyleague’ Sekar took down the ₹5 Lakhs GTD BSS MonsterStack 6-Max for ₹1.25 Lakhs. ‘vanillaice21’ came second for ₹88,329.

Spartan Poker
The MTT action on Spartan Poker was surprisingly a relatively regular affair, with none of the brand’s weekend flagships like The Millionaire or its latest launch, The Prestige, making their Sunday runs.
Headlining the action instead was the ₹30 Lakhs GTD Sunday Superstack that brought in 297 entries, falling three entries short of its 300-player guarantee. The play culminated at 3.51 AM when last week’s ReCharge champion ‘sanapalbhar’ came out on top. The mystery player pocketed a personal-best ₹4.67 Lakhs, following a three-way deal with Armaan ‘space ace’ Kochhar (2nd for ₹4.50 Lakhs) and Umang ‘Umang94’ Kakarania (3rd for ₹4.40 Lakhs).
The winner ‘sanapalbhar’ also placed third in the ₹3 Lakhs GTD Sunday Monster Stack for ₹33,150. They now have ₹8.04 Lakhs in site cashes and ₹1.30 Lakhs in corresponding profits.
The ₹8 Lakhs GTD Money Heist found a champion in June’s NPA #37 Marathon winner, Kritagya_1703’ Sharma, who outran the 507-player field to claim his first title win in almost two months and a ₹1.56 Lakhs payday. He beat ‘jerinpaul16’ (2nd for ₹99,040) in heads-up play. The event faced an overlay shortfall of ₹2.43 Lakhs.
