The 2019 European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona has been a breakout series for Spanish pro Juan Pardo (cover image). Approximately 24 hours after he had posted his career’s biggest live score by taking down the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller for €491,600, he went on to topple that by capturing the title in the €50,000 Single Day High Roller for a new personal-best €1,013,860!

The event had attracted 76 entries, generating a prize pool worth €3,686,760, and saw several poker heavyweights in action including the likes of Adrian Mateos, Kristen Bicknell, Jean-Noel Thorel, Bryn Kenney, Isaac Haxton, Danny Tang, and Charlie Carrel. However, none of them were able to finish in the money.

The top 11 finishers were guaranteed at least €92,170, and Louis Nyberg was the last player to fall out empty-handed. Kahle Burns (11th for € 92,070) and Matthew Moss (10th for € 92,070) picked up the min-cash before the redraw for the final table.

Pardo’s had entered the final table with second largest stack and repeating his phenomenal run from the €25K Single-Day High Roller, he once again went on a rampage and eliminated Rui Ferreira, Laurynas Levinskas, Steve O’Dwyer, Timothy Adams, Chin Wei Lim and eventual runner-up Seth Davies, to claim his second consecutive PokerStars LIVE title at the series.

Talking about his back-to-back wins, Pardo said, “I was trying not to think about all the hype of winning yesterday. I just wanted to try and play my best game, just like I do in all the tournaments that I play.”
