EPT Paris 2023: Teun Mulder Champions €25,000 Single-Day High Roller II For €389,870, Bags Second PokerStars Spadie Trophy

Teun Mulder (cover image), a professional poker player from the Netherlands, has won the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller II at the first-ever 2023 European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris. Mulder outlasted a field of 51 players to take home the €389,870 first-place prize and his second PokerStars Spadie trophy.

In an impressive display of dominance, Mulder eliminated all six players at the final table in under thirty minutes. He defeated Tauan Naves in the heads-up match, with Naves taking home €257,900 for his second-place finish.

Mulder now has over $4.66 Million in live tournament earnings and is ranked #3 on the Netherlands’ all-time money list. When asked about his impressive run in the tournament, Mulder admitted that he had never run that hot before and described it as “insane.” “No, probably not; that was insane. I got it in bad, and I won, and I got it in 50/50, and I also won,” he said.

The €25,000 Single-Day High Roller II attracted 51 runners to collect €1,199,520 in the prize pool, and seven players got paid.

The #1 ranked player on Portugal’s all-time money list, Joao Vieira (eliminated 8th), bore the brunt of falling on the money bubble.

 

Final Table Recap

Mulder went on an absolute rampage on the final table and single-handedly eliminated all six players in record time to walk away as the champion.

Thomas Muehloecker and Pedro Garagnani were Mulder`s first victims, falling in sixth and seventh places, respectively.

Mulder’s busted Niklas Astedt’s next, eliminating the Swedish poker phenom in fifth place.

Jakov Nesterov’s failed to find any help against Mulder’s , and he exited in fourth place.

Seth Davies got the boot in third place, and it was Mulder’s work once again.

Mulder (4,600,000) carried out a flurry of FT elimination before finding himself heads-up with Tauan Naves (500,000), and what followed was only likely.

The heads-up match got over quickly as Naves moved in for his remaining 500,000 with , and Mulder called off with . Naves got it in good against Mulder, but the poker gods continued smiling at Mulder.

The flop brought , giving Navas a pair and Mulder an open-ended wheel draw, which he comfortably drilled on the turn . An inconsequential on the river was the perfect finishing touch to Mulder`s dominating final table run.
