“Ten days into the high-octane action at the Asian Poker Tour 2021 Online Series India currently underway at PokerBaazi, and we finally have our first woman champion, Niharika Bindra. Nothing better or bigger than this for a #MondayMotivation post for other women at the felts to chase their poker dreams.
Bringing in a much-needed diversity into last night’s list of podium finishers, Niharika championed the Sunday featured tourney on the site, the ₹30 Lakhs GTD #APT Sunday Major, banking a whopping ₹6.53 Lakhs for her second-best career finish!
Niharika, a prominent name in the Delhi poker circuit, is an old-hand in the game. She has been playing poker for well over 16 years, and while she considers cash games to be her forte, her recent exploits in online MTT`s have been remarkable!
Niharika has an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Business Administration. Her love story with poker began when a friend from the States introduced her to the game. Ever since she has been hooked to the game and plays it almost daily.
In the last 16 years, she has added quite a few achievements to her poker resume:
>Lifetime Total: ₹51.87 Lakhs
>Best score: ₹9,90,407 for a runner-up finish in Adda52’s Mega Suits Finale in April 2020
Being the only woman player to have participated in all 3 major poker leagues in India, namely the Match Poker India, Poker Sports League, and GPL India, Niharika is a perfect example of women doing it all and more. Her outstanding achievements are definitely a source of inspiration for other aspiring women players in the country.
While Niharika might be the first woman champion at the APT 2021 Online series – India edition, we sure hope she isn’t the last.”
