Full Tilt has now finally joined its sibling site PokerStars in having a celebrity endorse its brand. The first ambassador-player to be signed up by the site is Marc Kennedy (cover image), the 5-time Rush-High Black Card Pro and online grinder.
Kennedy is expected to be a conduit for communication between players and the site. He will speak out player concerns when needed, as well as make sure that all Full Tilt changes and norms are clearly understood by the player community at the site.
Full Tilt also released announcements stating the importance of Twitch.tv and that Kennedy would now be streaming live $0.05/$0.10 Rush Poker tables from 13:00 GMT through 16:00 GMT every Saturday. Kennedy would give away $10 Ring Game Tickets throughout the broadcast. Players can either chat directly with him or play along at his table. The top 10 players who win/loose the most will win seats. Those who missed the live streaming can catch the re-runs later.
Dominic Mansour, Full Tilt, Managing Director, told the media that the poker room was engaged in structuring the site to meet the requirements of recreational players and Kennedy was an important addition in making this happen. A few days back, the site had announced that it was undergoing major changes to bring back the “fun” to the online game and make it more exciting.
These changes would include a new-ring game lobby, giving players a better welcome. It would also include new mobile apps and new rake structures.
In the press release Kennedy stated that, “My new role at Full Tilt is not to be a sponsored pro in the traditional sense. My job is to act as a Player Ambassador, working with the team on any changes to the product that may have an impact on players.”
Kennedy believes that his position will allow players a better participation in creating a poker room that they would enjoy playing at. He claimed that he was there as a voice for the players and always available to listen to any concerns about the existing issues or for any new ideas from players.
The England-born Australia-based player was studying Quantitative Economics and Finance at university, when he was inspired by Gus Hansen and decided to quit it all for poker. Kennedy has years of poker experience under his belt, more than a million in earnings and is a NLH 6-max specialist, who is a regular on the Two plus Two forum.
