GGPoker’s innovative staking feature has been the talk of poker town since it was announced. However, according to the online poker network’s latest announcement, the functionality has been enhanced just in time for the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online series. GGPoker will be hosting 54 bracelet events on the platform starting July 19.

Out of the 85 bracelet events up for grabs, WSOP.com will be giving away 31 gold bracelets to players residing in New Jersey and Nevada. The remaining 54 bracelet events will have a more global reach via GGPoker from July 19.

To coincide with the start of bracelet events, GGPoker is improving its innovative staking feature. The feature will allow poker fans and players to buy a portion of a player’s action on Day 2. This means that as players advance in the tournament, staking opportunities will still be allowed.

You may have noticed that some of the multi-day tournaments do not allow you to get staked on Day 1. This is because you can play multiple Day 1s and take the better stack into the Day 2, forfeiting the lesser one.

You can now sell shares of yourself when you make it to Day 2, that is before Day 2 play starts, and that too at a much higher premium. This is using an ‘adjusted stack markup’ system (ASMU), which is your Day 2 starting chips divided by your Day 1 starting chips (if you end Day 1 with fewer chips than you started, you cannot sell shares).

GGPoker ambassador and six-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu tweeted about the launch of the feature.

“The GG Staking platform just got a whole lot cooler,” Negreanu told PokerNews. “In the client, you could always buy or sell before the start of an event, but now you can make even more informed decisions based on day one results. This allows you to either sell and lock up some cash or buy some players who already have a big stack. Allows for more intelligent investing. I think it’s great.”
