The self-proclaimed ‘King of Instagram’ and controversy’s favorite child, Dan Bilzerian, is back in the spotlight. The three-time WSOP bracelet winner, Chance Kornuth, may have just turned up the heat on the Dan Bilzerian debate!
In a series of tweets, Kornuth appears to have provided evidence to support Bilzerian’s long-held claim of winning tens of millions of dollars playing poker. Many have questioned Bilzerian’s wealth and suggested he inherited it from his father, but this evidence suggests otherwise.
Over the years, the former GGPoker brand ambassador has been involved in quite a lot of controversies. From penning a scandalous tell-all autobiography, ‘The Setup,’ to getting sued by a former employee and telling Vanessa Kade to “shut up hoe,” Bilzerian shenanigans are uncountable.
Despite being known for his misogynistic behavior, Bilzerian has always maintained that he’s made his millions playing against wealthy amateur poker players rather than inheriting it from his father, a convicted white-collar criminal.
Bilzerian claimed to have won millions playing against wealthy amateur poker players, including billionaire Alec Gores, whom he wrote about in his book, The Setup. The book details stories of high-stakes heads-up matches with multi-million dollar pots. Recently, Kornuth shared a fascinating story about coaching Bilzerian for one of these games against Gores.
It turned out that Andrew Robl was too busy to coach Dan for his upcoming heads up match that Saturday with billionaire Alec Gores at Gores’ 11 bedroom, 21 bathroom, $70 million dollar mansion and Robl told Dan to give me a call.

Based on my guesstimate, Dan would win a million about 55% of the time. For 3 hours of coaching, my EV was ~$1800 an hour.
While trying to mask my excitement, I asked Dan if there was anything specific that he would like me to prepare for the session.

Two days later, I was sitting in my car in the parking lot of Park Meadows Mall in Colorado, talking on the phone with Dan, while my wife was inside Black Friday shopping.
We immediately got to work figuring out how to exploit Gores.

It was also established that Dan shouldn’t overuse this strategy as Gores would catch on and would stop open raising $100K in the dark.
Hopefully Gores wouldn’t wake up with a real holding right off the bat and call or Dan could be down a million bucks in one hand!

With the game plan we had developed, we both agreed that he was going to crush the billionaire at his own mansion with millions on the line.
I was virtually already spending my $10k in my head when we wrapped up the call.

Fortunately, I didn’t have to wait that long. I got woken up by a text around 4 or 5 am and all it said was “Owe you $10k”.
I replied, “How much did you win!?”.

Getting a random call from Dan Bilzerian and coaching him through the biggest spot of his life from a parking lot in Colorado is one that I’ll never forget.
My only regret is not insisting on a 1% freeroll rather than the $10K ????

The game had $5,000/$10,000 blinds, and Kornuth offered to help Bilzerian improve his game. If Bilzerian were to profit at least $1 Million, Kornuth would receive a $10,000 cut.
For Kornuth, who had already cashed about $1 Million in live tournaments by 2013, it was easy to offer his services. He could give some advice and potentially earn a nice payday if Bilzerian managed to beat the billionaire fish. With no risk and a big reward on the line, Kornuth saw it as a win-win situation.
In his tweets, Kornuth claims he was impressed by Bilzerian’s knowledge of his opponent, billionaire Gores, during a coaching session for their $5,000/$10,000 heads-up match. Kornuth praised Bilzerian’s ability to predict Gores’ tendencies and range in different spots accurately and felt confident in Bilzerian’s chances of winning big in the game.
Kornuth even began to mentally spend his potential $10,000 cut as he wrapped up the coaching session. After the match, Bilzerian tweeted Kornuth with a simple message: “owe you $10k,” indicating that he had won at least $1 million in the game held at Gores’ mansion.
Kornuth’s story does not provide definitive proof of Bilzerian’s claim that he has won tens of millions of dollars playing poker. Still, it does confirm that Bilzerian has played high-stakes games as he has maintained for years. While the exact amount of money he has won at the tables remains unknown, Kornuth’s coaching experience with Bilzerian indicates the infamous playboy has been playing in nosebleed games as he has often claimed.
