Five-time WSOP bracelet winner Shaun Deeb has chalked out an elaborate plan to take a chance at the $1.9 Billion Powerball Jackpot. He did not stop at planning and plotting but gathered many collaborators with the help of his Twitter posts. He has also placed orders for 45,000 tickets at $2 each and awaits the Powerball lottery draw results.

American Actor Vince Vaughn has collaborated with WSOP.com, where he will be battling heads-up against three past world champions, namely Phil Hellmuth (1989), Joe Cada (2009), and Koray Aldemir (2021). Poker players based in the US will get a chance to win a free seat to the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in Las Vegas if they correctly guess the outcomes of the three matches.

Shaun Deeb Schemes at Taking Down the $1.9 Billion Powerball Jackpot

On November 3, Shaun Deeb tweeted asking who would organize the 292 million entries to cover every combo of Powerball to take a stab at the $1.9 Billion Powerball Jackpot. A day later, he took on the task himself.

The odds are not stacked in favor of a big victory for Deeb. Nonetheless, many of his followers decided to get on board, even with a $525 minimum investment.

The tournament legend tried to use variance to his favor as he put his wife, Ashley Deeb, in the driving seat of the Powerball jackpot scheme by getting her to handle all the transactions for a 5% share.

After Deeb and the company did the preparations around the lottery, the order was placed for 45,000 tickets at $2 each. Robert Mizrachi quickly calculated that the odds of winning from this pile of entries were still 6,488.8/1. Not exactly a cakewalk, but who knows about lotteries and lady luck?

Many decided to join Deeb’s scheme.

Deeb’s scheme led to more discussions on the possibility of buying all the combinations possible to guarantee a jackpot win. An investment of almost $585 Million.

The question is, how many people would you end up sharing the expected $1.9 billion with? Another two claimants still make it a profitable outcome but three, and it’s a significant loss.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that nobody wins this run, and the jackpot increases. The last hit was on August 3, 2022, for a massive win of $206.9 million by a Pennsylvania Lottery retail customer.

At the time of writing, the draw was delayed over extra time needed to complete security protocols across all 48 states.

“When the required security protocols are complete, the drawing will be performed under the supervision of lottery security officials and independent auditors. Winning numbers will be posted as soon as they are available. Thank you for your patience.”

In hindsight, with $4,500 of his own money in the draw, Deeb stands to win the most significant share of $95,000,000, making him a candidate for the richest professional poker player on the planet.

Vaughn, who has appeared in many of the top comedy flicks from the past 30 years, featured as the WSOP’s “Master of Ceremonies” last year in its transition from the Rio to Bally’s (to be renamed Horseshoe Las Vegas in 2023). He dressed as Caesar to announce “Shuffle Up and Deal” on Day 1B of this year’s Main Event. This time, he is collaborating with the WSOP, giving away 2023 WSOP Main Event seats.

In three states — Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania — players who deposit on the WSOP.com poker site during a specific week can predict the outcome of Vaughn’s match against either Hellmuth, Cada, or Aldemir. Those who make an accurate projection will then be entered into a freeroll tournament with a Main Event seat awarded to the winner.

WSOP.com put out a video announcement for the upcoming heads-up clashes.
