Three-time WSOP bracelet winner Doug Polk seems to have taken the Grudge Match well and truly out of GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreagu’s hands. With 30 sessions now in the books, Polk enjoys a dominating $1,002,595.59 lead against Negreanu.
There are just 7,122 hands left to play out, and it seems like an impossible spot for Kid Poker to bounce back from. But let’s not count the six-time WSOP bracelet winner out of contention just yet. Miracles do happen, and Negreanu certainly needs one now! Still, it can happen.
Let’s take a look at how the last three sessions since our last update panned out.
The 27th session took place on January 14. Polk entered the session with a commanding $484,073.93 lead. The match lasted for 600 hands, and Polk added another $119,609.84 to his profits, extending his overall lead to $603,683.77.
Session: +$119,609.84 over 600 hands
Total: +$603,683.77 over 15850 hands.
Good to finally get a 6 figure win in. Up 15 buyins with about 9k hands to go. Not over by a long shot but we stopped the bleeding and if we can get a couple more solid wins should be hard to lose.

Two days later, the duo returned for the 28th session. Negreanu tried to bluff his way through some big pots, but the ever-vigilant Polk didn’t let anything slide past him. The 650-hand session saw Negreanu dropping another $26,198.60 to Polk.
Session: +$26,198.6 over 650 hands
Total: +$629,882.37 over 16500 hands
Just about even today. Caught Daniel running some bluffs in some big spots. Also caught Daniel betting some boats in some big spots. Basically this session was Daniel betting the river and me calling.

Even before Session #30 had started, Polk had got the intuition that this was going to be an important session.
Looking forward to todays session. Something tells me its going to be a very lucky one.

Finally broke a million. Had so many big hands today… nice to get a big win after so many difficult sessions. Went on a 500k downer but recovered and am ready to finish this thing out.
