Antanas Guoga, aka Tony G, is a prominent name in the poker industry and one who can keep players and poker audiences alike enthralled with his antics. We have all been missing those shenanigans these past few years with Guoga busy dispensing his duties as a member of the European Parliament. But this year has been different. Guoga didn`t get re-elected to office, and while this was not the best news for his political aspirations, it was undoubtedly good news for the poker industry.

Guoga has been very active on the live circuit since with deep runs in stops like the partypoker MILLIONS, and the WSOPE. Last week, Guoga was seen in action at the partypoker Caribbean Poker Party in the Bahamas. And guess what?! It`s here that he caught up with his old friends and high-stakes peers, Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, and Triton Poker founder Paul Phua. All four of these poker stars ended up hopping on Phua’s private jet plane on the way back, and given the quorum, it turned out to be quite an eventful flight!

Right before he boarded the plane, Tony G shared the news on Twitter.

The jet was heading to Vilnius, the capital of Tony G’s home country, Lithuania. No extra points for assuming here that the final destination was Casino Olympic Vilnius. But bring this bunch together, and you simply can’t keep poker away! Right there on the plane, they played a type of short deck, 5+ Hold ‘em & PLO with the sixes also removed – all for a whopping, $127,000 buy-in!

And given Guoga`s tweet, it looks like he won decent money off Dwan and Ivey.

But the game was obviously just getting started. At Casino Olympic Vilnius, Danny Tang joined the group. Later Tony G, who evidently had a very profitable night, went all gaga about how his day had gone.

He later told Poker Central, “We played a $1,000,000 HKD buy-in and I ended up being a small winner, we had an amazing time.”

Tony G credited Phua with reviving his interest in poker again. “Paul is generous and great for poker, he supports so many people and without him, the high stakes scene would be very limited. Paul has helped me fall in love with poker again, just like people such as Lauren Roberts and her wonderful husband, Bob Bright, and many others.”

He certainly had a great time with Dwan and Ivey as he said, Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey are both super special and super talented. They are the older generation of poker at this point, and like fine wine, they get better with age and are a lot of fun to play with.”

While the short-deck action on the plane was something else altogether, Tony G amid the crazy cash game action at the Triton Poker SHR Montenegro was another level of high-quality poker entertainment. The Lithuanian himself agrees, and shared the latest episode with his Twitter followers.
